Ben Davies gets a lot of hate here and I'm not quite sure why. He's consistent and reliable. Not the best player we have, but it's not like he's our first choice anyways. As a squad player, he's shown that he can perform while putting his body on the line.

To be honest many left backs have come and gone but for actualy defending Davies has been better than all of them during his time ,what let's him down though is generally managers want wing backs of inverted and offering a threat forward and Ben is not so good at that bit generally. Still has his moments as he did last night.

Agree, for someone in their early 30's, Davies was the only player playing forward, despite the fact he's a defender and he was a goal threat. Dont agree with most who think he's our worst defender and moreover, worst in the league it seems

Brennan didn't celebrate because of our shite fan base. Would you celebrate for fans that are sending you threats? people talk about this team like they have been playing for the club 4 years. Apart from the players that have been here from poch to conte the new players in need to be given time. we need to lower our expectations and just simply get behind the team (pause) Asna had it with Arteta in their first couple of seasons and now they competing with City. Davies had a brilliant game and showed he is an important squad player despite his age.

After being given the opportunity to look for positions elsewhere, Djed Spence decided to stay and put in the hard work to get back into the squad. He achieved that and every time he was given a chance, he has stepped up to the levels required. Then he gets a slap in th face by being left out of Europe for a 4th goalkeeper, but responds by once again putting in a quality performance.
What a mentality monster. I think this team could do with a little more of that.

Putting Ben Davies and Dragusin in the same category as Timo Werner and Foster is kinda ridiculous

    • @bensinclair7263
      @bensinclair7263 Месяц назад +1

Agreed. Forster made too many mistakes to keep track of and Werner looked clumsy and poor on he ball. Also wasn't getting into space nearly enough. Dragusin made a few mistakes but also made a number of good passes and played a part in the winning goal, and Davies almost scored and made a number of good challenges (plus he put his body on the line to keep us in the match),. As for the goal we conceded, Dragusin was the one playing Asante onside and he failed to stop he cross, Davies should've stopped the ball from reaching Asante, Forster should've been more aware and should've communicated better with his defenders(his positioning could've been better as well), Spence was the one that was supposed to be marking Asante, and Grey was out of position.

  • @uBenji1234

Werner is a cheap system fit..., and he will improve in his cutbacks and accuracy in finishing.
However, I think that Mikey Moore and Odobert has showed me enough AND they are so much younger that they both should be played in front of Werner who will fill out the squad depth instead. From what I've seen so far.
At the same time, I DO trust in Ange's priorities. HE is the only one who knows who looks good in training, takes instructions well, improves steadily, future ceiling, social impact on the others in the team etc.

  • @ianoates378

Brennan is having decent season. He took this vital chance with surety and aplomb. Tied of the impatience among some fans who always want a quick fix like by a big name player, sack the coach etc. Ange has a long term plan. He is grafting in younger players in order to blood a new generation of players. It will take time,. I have been a Tottenham fan since the mid 1960's, for longer than most of you have been alive. Everyone chill. Let's.all Spurs supporters support Spurs players unequivocally. Poor young Brennan, scored the winner late in the game sgainst Coventry (did not Coventry get to the semii final of the FA Cup last year?) but Brennan was personally hurt and terrified of running towards the Spurs fans, but was reluctant due to the personal ad homminem attacks and verbal chants at him from Spurs supporters, very, very sad.
We have a generally young team, and yes, I'd love us to sit deeper defensively with a low block, 5 man defence, with a 3 man central back pivot, Romero, Micky V. and Dragusin, as our defence has to be our foundation and impenetrable for further development as a team.
Yes, the highline drives me mad, as it just renders our players look like headless chooks, and we seem to have more holes in our defence like Swiss cheese with our high line. Such as the always predictable opposition counterattack, or long ball whilst when we lose possession iin our attacking front half and seemingly always get punished. Please don't get me started on Ange's studied nonchalance and contumaciousness regarding keeping clean sheets, and Laissez faire regarding conceding late goals during games.
Also we lost to Arsenal only 1-0 the week before, and they were title challengers last year, right ? (By the way, Arteta's first two years at pain in the. Arsenal wasn’t great, finishing 8th from memory.)
And remember Leicester City won the EPL in 2015 (with Vardy our arch nemesis in our first game of 24/25.) Come on Spurs fans, let's be more positive. We know pain and frustration, but let's see if Ange can gradually introduce a reconfiguration and adaptation to our current team culture. format and tactics.
Reverse his current Modus operandi, by being more expressive emotionally in training and in the dressing room and tactically with our players. Get surreptitiously a corner and set piece coach, furthermore have an actual set piece specialist in our team, I mean, actually, who is itt? By the way, the Captain needs to stand up and challenge Ange on team culture, frame of mind of the players in the team. tatics etc.
Sorry about this. I unfortunately have no other form of therapy.

Harsh to give Bentancur a 5. He won and important header and made an interception that won us the ball in lead up to first goal. Then he nicked the ball and made a great assist for the winner. Subs Spence 8 took his goal well with strength and determination, Johnson 6 the poor lad is a bit sheepish but I think can become a player, Kulusevski 8 came on and grabbed the game by the scruff, best performance by him so far this season, Son 3, I dont know whats happened to Sonny but he lacks confidence to shoot. Maddison 5 a poor performance by his standards

Ben Davies has overstayed for about 5 years, might be a nice character but he s just to slow for a high defensive line. I tought Bergwall had terrible positioning, played like a schoolboy always chasing the ball, getting in our own players way making us to compact and easy to defend against. But his tenacity and skillset are very impressiv. Kulu is our Future, even last year when everyone was bashing him fot being a to slow player for on the wing or not suiting the system I was adament he s our most talented player

Don't think Foster was that bad a 5 or maby a 4 would be enough.

Forster 6 (saved us 3 times at least and even spilling the ball 3 times meant he did more from corners than Vicario has) Gray 5 (roasted on several occasions. The goal came from his side unsurprisingly.) Dragusin 5 (too slow. Poor distribution) Davies 7 (extra point for that block) Udogie 6 (not his usual self but did nothing wrong) / Spence 8 (came on and proved a point. Started and finished the move for his goal. Very good performance) Bentancur 6 (no major mistakes but clearly not up to speed yet) Sarr 6 (lot of effort but, as usual, nothing productive) Bergvall 6 (lots of effort and enthusiasm but didn't seem to know what to do with the ball once he had it) Werner 4 (lots of hard work but generally anonymous) Johnson 7 (largely ineffective once again but saved by that winning goal so gets an extra point. Hope he kicks on) Solanke 6 (difficult one this. Worked hard but if you don't get him the ball, what can he do?) Son 4 (can't remember him doing anything at all other than calming the team down) Kulu 8 (changed the game and had an instant impact. Not enough time on the pitch to score him higher) Maddison 7 (assisted Johnson I think? Can't remember. Too much red mist in my eyes. we certainly improved when he came on)
Ange 5 (changes won the game, but over-rotated the team, played 2 players out of position and seems not to interact with his players during the game)

Werner lost the ball 14 times - that has to be one of the worst performances by a prem league player ever, yet somehow people would give him a 4.... Together with manginas tactics he brings the rest of the team down. Johnson has bad games, Werner never has good ones.
Ange a 5??? Man is a fraud together with his Aussie mates. Get him out now!!!

What Ange has done with this team minus Kane is damn right incredible. He nearly led this team to CL. If one of his strikers finished first touch, he would have won the first 4 games, and you would be saying the opposite, you are a sheep mate.
