I'm surprised Heather Langenkamp isn't on here. She always spoke very highly of Wes. It's hard to believe that in the last few years so many legends of horror have passed away. Wes Craven, Tobe Hooper, George Romero. May they all rest in peace.
killer92173 It's debatable but I personally like Craven the best and I do believe his box-office numbers are the biggest out of any Horror Director maybe only recently surpassed by James Wan, even though I also am a huge Carpenter fan as well!
If you look at the adjusted numbers here: www.boxofficemojo.com/people/chart/?id=wescraven.htm then you can see that what you say about the box office numbers cannot be denied. Largely down to the success of the Scream films really.
Pepsi Man, Fulci is totally underrated. Sure, all the gorehounds love him, but the critics put him down as just another Italian splatter director. A lot of his movies are so surreal, imaginative and beautiful.
the man behind THE LAST HOUSE OF THE LEFT, THE HILLS HAVE EYES, A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, THE PEOPLE UNDER THE STAIRS, NEW NIGHTMARE, SCREAM!! R.I.P sir' Wes Craven :)
Mr. Wes Craven.. Was an incredible Horror film maker i love all of his work but my favorites are Nightmare on Elm St. And Shocker.. RIP you'll will be missed but never forgotten.. Much love Sexy Grandma ✌💘
R.I.P Wes Craven true visionary of horror scream movies and nightmare on elm street movies were legendary jamie kennedy and skeet ulrich are starting too look their age but mr englund always looks awesome
I saw People under the stairs in theatres, Freddy's dead with 3d glasses, A new Nightmare on Elm street, and all the Scream movies, Wes Craven was the best at horror movies?! ... 😀 🔥
Wes Craven was awesome. Dude.... if 2017 takes Robert Englund from us...... omfg....omfg... I will scream and kick and cry then kick some more then I'll cry.....then never be the same. 2017? DO NOT KILL ROBERT!!!!
From a nightmare on elm Street to all the other great films like the scream franchise! Wes was a blessed man definitely 😇 ahead of his time just like a nightmare on elm Street and the scream franchise those films were ahead! thank you Wes for all your great films! Rest in peace 🙏 we love you always me and all your fance!!!
I wish Wes and Robert got the chance to make one more Elm Street movie, a sequel to the first movie ignoring all the others, how Wes would have done it.
I thought I was the only one with that idea! A Nightmare sequel that ignores everything after part 1, starring Robert, Heather and Saxon.... Nightmare - 30 years later would have been terrific!
someone else has actually mentioned that already but i'll chime in with my take on it !! yes NEW NIGHTMARE was very much in line with what your describing and it's the only actual other NOES movie WES directed IT succeeds as a making of within a movie thriller ! and has some very original moments ! a master of Horror and someone who continues to inspire me in my pursuits!! CHEERS!
He did it was called New Nightmare. I get you tho, id have loved to seen where he wud have taken it next. Freddy was always Scary with wes, but other directors ruines him imho.
Damn even with Skeet Ulrich. Getting older he still hot af.and Freddy aka. Robert Englund is the best and all ways always will be. He is legend I💗💜💕 Freddy❣️
So many actors could have been in this. Neve Campbell, Heather Langenkamp, Angela Bassett, Courtney Cox, David Arquette, Bill Pullman, Eddie Murphy, Rachel McAdams....
+This Is Boone I agree except Angela, Bill, Eddie and Rachel because a) they probably was busy at the time (Rachel and Angela were working on Doctor Strange and Black Panther respectively), b) what movie was Bill Pullman in that Wes Craven directed that the majority knows & c) NOBODY remembers Vampire in Brooklyn and/or Red Eye.
Its also important to note that some of the all time best horror films, werent directed by people KNOWN for that genre.... John Landis, William Freidkin are two examples that come to mind.
I agree with 3 on your list. Zombie only made 2 good horror movies, the rest were trash. I'd replace him with John Carpenter. I'd also add tobe hooper, Alfred Hitchcock, Rod Sterling as well.
Word on the street is Wes was accused of being caught w an 11 yo girl on set by actor Craig Wasso who was then blacklisted after he punched wes n called authorities .
its not suppose to be. its suppose to poke fun at horror. from wiki "The film combined comedy and "whodunit" mystery with the violence of the slasher genre to satirize the cliché of the horror genre popularized in films such as Halloween and Friday the 13th. The film was considered unique at the time of its release for featuring characters who were aware of real world horror films and openly discussed the cliché that Scream attempted to subvert."
Wes Craven is a Master of Horror that will always be missed.
I'm surprised Heather Langenkamp isn't on here. She always spoke very highly of Wes. It's hard to believe that in the last few years so many legends of horror have passed away. Wes Craven, Tobe Hooper, George Romero. May they all rest in peace.
Wes was the best Horror director of all time! Box office numbers don't lie! No other Horror director comes close!
except for John Carpenter
killer92173 It's debatable but I personally like Craven the best and I do believe his box-office numbers are the biggest out of any Horror Director maybe only recently surpassed by James Wan, even though I also am a huge Carpenter fan as well!

Lucio Fulci made some pretty horrific stuff considering the much lower budget he had to work with.
Pepsi Man, Fulci is totally underrated. Sure, all the gorehounds love him, but the critics put him down as just another Italian splatter director. A lot of his movies are so surreal, imaginative and beautiful.
Heather Langenkamp should have been invited to speak on this show.
Draven Yeah!
She's a bit bland in interviews.
FX Lord really? I've always thought that she was really interesting in interviews
So many actors could have been in this. Heather, Neve, Courtney, Eddie Murphy, Bill Pullman, etc etc.....
I assume that these were the only ones who were available cause it really is a random trio
I love Wes Craven) And I love Robert Englund!)
Wow!)) You're so lucky to meet him!! How it happened?))
I live in Siberia - so I'll never have a chance to meet him
the man behind THE LAST HOUSE OF THE LEFT, THE HILLS HAVE EYES, A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET, THE PEOPLE UNDER THE STAIRS, NEW NIGHTMARE, SCREAM!!
R.I.P sir' Wes Craven :)
R.I.P Wes Craven!
Thank you
I think Wes craven knew exactly who to cast. All his actors were perfect.
My first favorite movie, when I was 3 years old, was People Under The Stairs. Rest in Peace, Wes.
"The Nightmare on the Elm Street" - Skeet Ulrich
Lol....weird huh
SKEEETTT WE LOVE YOU!! Thank you for returning!
I find it disrespectful that Johnny Depp wasn't there to talk about wes craven. Who subsequently discovered him and started his career.
He was, in the form of Skeet Ulrich.
I miss Cravens work. He will always be a legend of horror along with Stephen King
Mr. Wes Craven.. Was an incredible Horror film maker i love all of his work but my favorites are Nightmare on Elm St. And Shocker.. RIP you'll will be missed but never forgotten.. Much love Sexy Grandma ✌💘
Skeet Ulrich was in everything in the 90's. Man, I feel old after seeing how much he, and Jamie Kennedy have aged.
I know right
Back in those days he looked like Johnny Depp, especially when he had the moustache and goatee. Back then, they were both sporting them.
ROBERT ENGLUND SO AWESOME ON LARRY KING !!!!
robert saying hes old in front of the oldest man there is lol
R.I.P Wes Craven true visionary of horror scream movies and nightmare on elm street movies were legendary jamie kennedy and skeet ulrich are starting too look their age but mr englund always looks awesome
I saw People under the stairs in theatres, Freddy's dead with 3d glasses, A new Nightmare on Elm street, and all the Scream movies, Wes Craven was the best at horror movies?! ... 😀 🔥
Skeet looks so much like an average person but a model at the same time
They just dont make movies like he made anymore, its a CGI now.
Actually the Saw, Hatchet and Hostel films used practical effects.
CGI isn't the problem. Bad scripts and bad effects are.
tyler496121 they made cult of chucky
A Nightmare On Elm Street : We're great practical effects
Nightmare On Elm Street remake : Forget that we're CGI
bruh wes used a cgi knife in scream 4 i don’t know if giving unnecessary cgi a dig is solid
Wes Craven was awesome. Dude.... if 2017 takes Robert Englund from us...... omfg....omfg... I will scream and kick and cry then kick some more then I'll cry.....then never be the same. 2017? DO NOT KILL ROBERT!!!!
Bruna Neptune nope... but they took George Romero
Nov 2018. He's still here.
2019 still here
Late 2020, still here...
Still here!
I miss Wes Craven and I love all of his movies including Shocker.
"Nightmare on the Elm Street"
Stephen king, John carpenter, and Wes craven are the kingssss or horror no one better. Legends

Wes craven
John Carpenter
Alfred Hitchcock

I wish Wes and Robert got the chance to make one more Elm Street movie, a sequel to the first movie ignoring all the others, how Wes would have done it.
Well he kinda did with new nightmare. And a little with dream warriors
Rest in peace West Craven
And Larry, too.
Damn even with Skeet Ulrich. Getting older he still hot af.and Freddy aka. Robert Englund is the best and all ways always will be. He is legend I💗💜💕 Freddy❣️
Surprised that Heather and Neve didn’t come on to talk about Wes
Neve should have been there
Never was.
So many actors could have been in this. Neve Campbell, Heather Langenkamp, Angela Bassett, Courtney Cox, David Arquette, Bill Pullman, Eddie Murphy, Rachel McAdams....
+This Is Boone
I agree except Angela, Bill, Eddie and Rachel because a) they probably was busy at the time (Rachel and Angela were working on Doctor Strange and Black Panther respectively), b) what movie was Bill Pullman in that Wes Craven directed that the majority knows & c) NOBODY remembers Vampire in Brooklyn and/or Red Eye.
Skeet Ulrich
Johnny Depp
So good
I miss Wes , such a kind, soft-spoken guy but had a brilliant macabre directorial style
Its also important to note that some of the all time best horror films, werent directed by people KNOWN for that genre.... John Landis, William Freidkin are two examples that come to mind.
Wes - RIP
To think that the cheap bastard called Robert Shaye tried to recast Freddy after the first movie. That would have been horrible.
Love Wes.
Skeet was my first crush
Don't worry scream 5 is coming out soon enough I promise you.
Wes Craven N Stephan King R ILL Wit It(Their Horror Legacy Will Always Live On)
RIP THE ❤ OF HORROR
Greatest of all #SIP
3:20 Motive? We don’t need no motive. It’s the millennium.
Motives are incidental
I am a big fan of the scream genre franchise and I miss Wes Already... :(
The years were good to Skeet, he doesn't look creepy anymore, I think he's definitely someone who looks much better middle aged.
He's a good actor but always luv god
The mount rushmore of horror is a fitting statement
Wes Craven
Dario Argento
Clive barker
Rob Zombie
I agree with 3 on your list. Zombie only made 2 good horror movies, the rest were trash. I'd replace him with John Carpenter. I'd also add tobe hooper, Alfred Hitchcock, Rod Sterling as well.
No way don’t you dare leave our John carpenter . He’s # 1 and Wes is #2
Noes was the first video my family rented too
I would love to have the Nightmare Cafe series on a special Blue Rays addition set in stores I'd save up money for that
Scariest moment: " HEY GUYS LARRY HERE!!!!!!"
So sad to see Wes go. Paul Newman told me you never get over it!
Nightmare on Elm Street is #1 best horror film
I wish Heather and Neve was there and talk about Wes craven
this video should be called “scream actors and robert englund”
Why not Heather?
Randy and Billy?
Wes is a legend, but I don't know what he was thinking working with chiller
Hate to be that guy, but Jamie wasn’t in 2 Screams he was in 3. I feel like Jamie just didn’t want to correct him.
skeet was a damn good actor ...wonder why they black balled him
Opps I Meant Stephen Excuse My Grammer Yall lol
Skeet Ulrich is like an older Cole Sprouse
Agree
wtf happened to jaime kennedy
So Wes craven went from a king of magic and wonder like walt disney, to a horror king.
Larry king is interviewing wes craven right now in big interview room in the sky
skeet skeet or should i say billy ghostface loomis
I would have loved to see Neve Campell here
Man Skeet Ulrich looks so old!
hoochiemoochie He’s a dream
yeah, thats usually what happens when you get older. lol.
Freddy > Ghostface
Skeet Ulrich doesnt look too healthy or is it me?
Its called getting old 😂
Word on the street is Wes was accused of being caught w an 11 yo girl on set by actor Craig Wasso who was then blacklisted after he punched wes n called authorities .
I hate Robert Englund won't be in the new film! wonder why?
It's a remake, remakes almost never have returning cast members.
Am I the only one who thought scream wasn't scary ? It bordered on stupid.
its not suppose to be. its suppose to poke fun at horror. from wiki "The film combined comedy and "whodunit" mystery with the violence of the slasher genre to satirize the cliché of the horror genre popularized in films such as Halloween and Friday the 13th. The film was considered unique at the time of its release for featuring characters who were aware of real world horror films and openly discussed the cliché that Scream attempted to subvert."
Charles Surber it's not compared to movies these days but back in the day we were jumping out of the theatre seats
Charles Surber it's all relative .. People were terrified of Hitchcocks "psycho" when it was released !?
In 1996 Scream was the movie that re-awoke horror films and new ideas.
Scream was a fun horror flick .. Tongue and Cheek ; but memorable also .
