A Saturday Night Musical at VMBC Las Vegas Nov19 2016

Victory Missionary Baptist Church in Las Vegas, NV has 5 opportunities during the week to worship(Tues 6p, Sat 6p, and Sunday 8a, 9:45a, and 11:15a) . The senior pastor is Dr. Robert E. Fowler Sr. My personal favorite service is the senior pastor's Tuesday night mid-week worship and biblestudy. He has a way of relating scripture to current day living. This was a Saturday Night service on November 19, 2016 at 6p.m. They invited a guest artist, Rev. Pharis Evans Jr. and SWV on this night to lead the congregation in a power packed service of worship and praise. We pulled a few cameras together at the last moment to record the event. I'm glad we did. Pharis brought his MD, Maulty JEWELL IV "TUFF", to play keys. You can find instrumentals featuring "Tuff" on RUclips. He is a versatile musician. COGIC Levite musician, composer, and Gospel Music Legend, David Blakey was on the organ. I use to listen to David while washing dishes and playing James Moore tapes. I use to study his organ chording on Edwin Hawkins Music & Arts Seminar Mass Choir cds. When I first met him in 1996, I couldn't help but ask for his autograph. I told the camera man I would buy him dinner if he secretly captured Blakely's signature organ settings. LOL. Ironically, Blakely and Evans have know each other for some time. You will hear the bass player express himself musically throughout the service. The drummer lays it down without a drum machine. Sorry toms were not adequately on mics. Michael Shaw, now Minister of Music at Victory in Las Vegas, was a producer/writer/musician for Rev. Clay Evans in Chicago. I immediately recognized his name when I met him around 2002. I'm certain that Shaw had noticed in the early years that the anointing seemed to spread abroad on the Evans family. Pharis has written, programmed beats, played drums, and ect on numerous projects (Rev Clay Evans "Constantly", SWV "I want to say Thank You", GMWA, Keith Staten [of Commission]). Enjoy!
