There is a fourth -- the portions are getting smaller and smaller each time you go and the quality of the food is going down hill. What pisses me off the most is that the restaurants thinks we are stupid enough that we don't notice.
The fifth reason - most restaurants in the U.S. use super cheap, highly processed, unhealthy ingredients like canola oil, Polysorbate, emulsifiers, tons of sugar, "flavor enhancers", dyes, and 20 other questionable ingredients that are making all of us sick! And they're doing it to maximize their profit instead of keeping us healthy. That's my biggest reason for not eating out.
When I was a kid we never ate out....my parents always cooked at home....Sunday’s we would pack a picnic lunch and go to the park. My parents taught all of us how to shop and cook. We saved so much money doing it this way and it felt great to sit and eat together. It’s not hard to cook some pasta, make a salad or throw a chicken in the oven. We even make our own bread. The younger people have to get back to doing this.

Two words; DISPOSABLE INCOME. Americans have less of it. Add in inflation, and you have the "perfect storm" for the mass demise of restaurants, and fast food franchises. It will get worse, before it gets better.
Instead of raising prices to cover increasing costs, restaurants have been reducing serving sizes and/or using cheaper, lower quality ingredients in their items. This however, is very risky because if customers notice a reduction in size or quality of menu items, they will post negative reviews of it online. This destroys the reputation of that restaurant making it much harder for them to attract new customers.
Don't forget about this: It's taking companies that supply food and restaurant supplies to bars and restaurants out of business too! All those people without jobs!

That attitude of stabbing people in the back to make a quick dollar is not limited to the food industry. Almost all corporations do the same. There was a time they recognized and appreciated good workers. Not anymore. Have to make the stock holders a profit.
@lmcatech i call it stockholder syndrome. Some dude at the temp agency said something about Christmas time being slow cuz the stockholders need $... so places go to skeleton crews and get slower to give the stockholders more $ cuz they "need it". This world needs a major change in attitude...
Inflation, higher prices, insane expectations to tip 20-25%, etc…it’s just to damn expensive. it 10-20x more to eat in a restaurant compared to cooking at home.

Financial education is indeed required for more than 70% of the society in the country as very few are literate on the subject. Thanks to Karen Russell the lady my friend recommended to me!😊😊
Men are no longer dating and being taken advantage of as a free meal ticket...That game is up...Middle class is broke and are no longer going out to eat as often...Food costs and menu prices are out of control and restaurants now want you to leave exhorbitant tips to offset low wages...And service has gone down the toilet...Why would anyone want to waste what little disposable income they have left at the end of the month by going out to eat (either as a family...on a date...or even dining solo)...Eat at home...
We wish we could go to a restaurant today, but my bills are high, food is high, we have to buy gas and household items so me and my family can't go out to eat right now. We just can't afford to eat out at a restaurant.
The $70 bill for restaurant food is very motivating to cook at home. I know it gets tireing, but the current prices will add up too fast, leaving you with no money for more important things.
I don't know why, but so many businesses seem to struggle this 2024. I know a self-published author, a hairstylist, a coffee shop owner, and a realtor saying the same thing. I am keen on retiring comfortably at 50 with at least $2m, only to spend more time with my kids.

All these issues stem from an economy grappling with uncertainties, including housing problems, foreclosures, global fluctuations, and the aftermath of the pandemic, leading to instability. Rising inflation, sluggish growth, and trade disruptions demand urgent attention from all sectors to restore stability and stimulate growth.
With $420,000 in retirement savings, diversifying into assets that historically perform well during inflationary periods, such as Treasury Inflation-Protected Securities (TIPS), commodities, or foreign currency assets, might help protect against potential dollar depreciation. Exploring options like global real estate, diversified foreign bonds, or high-quality international equities may also offer a hedge against a declining dollar and inflationary risks .

This is too vague. Not buying it. And what the heck do I care who closes down? I don't patronize fast food. It's all junk and expect me to pay a premium just because they cooked it for you and it's taxed on top of that. It's your hard earned money, don't give it to them because someone is too lazy to cook at home or eat a good meal before leaving. Even if you are hungry, I'm pretty sure you will survive until you make it home and eat something healthy.
Even though I amshadow banned I can release ny frustrations here. Red Lobster has been lousy for years. Buger King went down the toilet, McDonalds is right behind them and so are rest of them. Having to cook at home is hard work. Americns have become so lazy it is amazing. Ok time for me to work and rake leaves with one arm
For the last several years, since the Covid, we very seldom eat at restaurants anymore and have lost weight too. It's very expensive to eat out now and not going to fast food. 😊
You are born, you grow, you mature, you die. Many businesses live & die just like people. If this video is truthful about the plight of many restaurants, its a shame that many of these restaurants have run out of steam. They longer have much relevance to the public. There certainly will be many new restaurants to open in the future, just like leaves that sprout on trees in the spring.
Seriously? This shouldn't be unexpected. America has to much of everything. Something has to give in an economic downturn. There just isn't enough people to go around. This is not a reflection of the economy rather its a reflection of greed while these business keep expanding at an unsustainable growth. They did it to themselves.
Boston chicken was known as Boston markets at first. They overextended themselves. That's what happened to that business. They overgrow big in the 90s. And I have to close down. Basically, almost all their stores, but they restructured and came back as Boston chicken and they still couldn't recover from that and they were. They basically got out of business anyway. I don't like their food anymore either. It's terrible.
They were dead ever since other's copied and you can get a chicken like that everywhere now for $5 - $9. Nobody is going to go to your place for the same thing when you charge over $10
Well they practically crashed out at the end of the '90s headed into the early 2000s A lot of us for a good 18 years had wondered how the hell any of them still exist.
@American-Motors-Corporation That makes me wonder there's 1 or 2 still around. But they're starting to close down a little bit later. There's one where I live, but it's a terrible place. It's a lot of arabs and Muslims owned those places. Now I don't go to those Boston chicken or Boston market. It's terrible, it's midnigit used to be nice. Though, in the 90s, you should be sweet, not anymore. No wonder they're Going Out of business.
Do. You guys remember Roy Rogers? They were good at 1 time. They're long gone. These other fast food places are gone. The way of the dinosaurs. Also, just like Roy Rogers did.

It's a negative feedback loop that will end with alot of losers and even less jobs, I could go on & on... one word. Shortsightedness...
Inflation, higher prices, insane expectations to tip 20-25%, etc…it’s just to damn expensive. it 10-20x more to eat in a restaurant compared to cooking at home.
i am SOOOO GLAD the restaurant industry is SUFFERING. the way they treat so called black folks is DISGUSTING. WHO'S ON WELFARE NOW RESTAURANT INDUSTRY ???? YOU ARE !!!!
The way so called black folk seem to always play the victim is the real crime.
They treat everyone like dirt, cost cutting ahead of customer service
Many blacks don't leave tips or find a reason to get food free.
@@EvySurvived that’s a smart move why should I pay you to bring out a plate of food?
Oh boy, here we go again!
Financial education is indeed required for more than 70% of the society in the country as very few are literate on the subject. Thanks to Karen Russell the lady my friend recommended to me!😊😊
yay .. I eat at home my whole life and love it .
Commas, semicolons, questions marks, and periods
Learn how to use them.
True that 😃
Overpriced swill cooked in a filthy facility is why I’ve never used restaurants I can prepare better quality in my home for less than half the cost….
Another excellent video. I'm a regular viewer.
No one will starve they will just eat healthier. Corporations need to go away!
The casinos taking them out .. capitalism
$2M is an awesome goal, you inspire me to retire comfortably too.
Financial planning should be considered in order to get the best out of your money... business/savings/investments
@@derrickholfman2 I’m quite lucky exposed to personal finance at an early age, started job 19, purchased first home 28. Going forward, got laid-off at 36 amid covid-outbreak, and at once hired an advisor to help stay afloat. As of today, I'm just about 10% shy of my $1m investing goal.
Bravo! mind if I look up the professional guiding you please? i'm ill-prepared tbh, my 401k gains are zero-nothing and my stock portfolio is going down too
Annette Christine Conte is the T.X- based advisor I use and her performance has been consistently impressive. She’s quite known in her field, look her up.
running costs too high, staff can't be found
All you need do is pay a living wage. Everyone has rent to pay 😢
Wendy's is so f'n disgusting slathering the gooey, smelly, gross American cheese on damn near everything on their menu; God!
How the mighty have fallen. Dave Thomas must be spinning in his grave.
Stop eating out
I gave up Wendy's in 1986... lol
Foo i love wendys
Their chili quality started deteriorating many years ago😵. Currently purchase quality chili & beans @ ( Publix grocery store ) Satellite Beach Fl🐊😋.
Thanks for informing me.
With my demanding job, I lack time for investment analysis. For seven years, a fiduciary has managed my portfolio, adapting to market conditions, enabling successful navigation and informed decisions.
Consider a similar approach.
this is definitely considerable! think you could suggest any professional/advisors i can get on the phone with? i'm in dire need of proper portfolio allocation
Jennafer Beaver Turner is the licensed advisor I use.
Just research the name. You'd find necessary details to work with to set up an appointment
Thanks, I looked her up on Google and was very impressed by her credentials. I reached out because I need all the help I can get. I've scheduled a phone call with her.
Rice and beans are cheap.
Amerikans are getting poorer!
I never eat at restaurants anyway the last time I ate at one they treated my pretty badly.as long as the grocery stores stay open I could care less
People learned how to cook during work from home time lol
I know I did 😂
This is too vague.
This guy has a devilish voice. It's creepy.
Give me my doom and gloom. Don't play with me.
Chipotle for four was almost a hundred dollars
Even though I amshadow banned I can release ny frustrations here. Red Lobster has been lousy for years. Buger King went down the toilet, McDonalds is right behind them and so are rest of them. Having to cook at home is hard work. Americns have become so lazy it is amazing. Ok time for me to work and rake leaves with one arm
Correct
Just trying to keep positive and alive. I tell myself it's worth living another day. Things will get better.
For the last several years, since the Covid, we very seldom eat at restaurants
anymore and have lost weight
too.
It's very expensive to eat out
now and not going to fast food.
I’m in Michigan, every restaurant is packed everyday. Travel around and you’ll see how the other half live. Mansions with acreage.
@mlong9475 Absolutely, facts.
Its a combo of the investor class making these places soulless and consumers wanting an actual unique and local experience.
Was in restaurant once in the last 4 years. Didn't starve yet. 😂😂😂
Fear 🌽 sells well. 😂😂😂
That's all this channel is about .no worries
Do.
You guys remember Roy Rogers? They were good at 1 time. They're long gone. These other fast food places are gone. The way of the dinosaurs. Also, just like Roy Rogers did.
Funny thing is we always got their chicken but my Asian mom would also raid their fixins bar even though we did'nt order a burger.
@mlong9475 That's a wonder that is, isn't it?
We are long retired and the wife hates going out to eat like we used to when young
Excellent video! I love this channel!
Eat only if yer hungry. All too many eat for fun.
Lmao no ones gonna starve, we are overweight as it is.
Overweight/obese people are LITERALLY starving. That is why they can't stop eating! Their metabolisms are broken by our polluted food system.
I cook at home 😂
Where do we send our kids to work? Fast food places only place to work in small towns.
Hooters went downhill. It use to be beautiful girls good food. The womenmade great money from tips and they just had to show their tips
A new Chipotle is being build near me.
Kick the playback speed to 1.5
restaurants have nothing to do with hunger on a basic fundamentel value....restaurants are a luxury for the ppl w extra money
Nice work 🎆✨
