That's the report I'll look forward too! How they wear & hold up! The grey was an improvement over the black & green poly Vs. I've used rough tops as well and they would budge in the middle. So I'll look forward to reading your report 👍💯
It's been about 5 years since the first belts were installed and they have not lost any of their grip and are running great. Occasionally certain belts like to raise in the middle like cupping. Other than that, I still recommend them.
The bowling center where I bowl is having problems finding a good belt to use for their ball returns up in front where the balls come out. They had only one belt that has that tan waffle look and can't find any more like that. The belts I have found are for the Distributor arm, not the ball returns up front. The upper belts are in bad shape and needs to be replace. He has the AMF 82-70s like you have. What upper ball return belt do you use and where to get them. Not the drive belt, but the belt on top with the springs tension on the belt.
Those sound like Sur-Piks ball returns. The top piece is not a belt, it's made of leather. It needs to be roughened up with a wire brush once in a while.
@@Kingscoolstuff Thanks for your reply and yes, I did use a wire brush to rough up those belts, but they are still very shinny and needs to be replaced. I went down to the bowling center one day to help them clean and my job was to clean those leather belts. But there in bad shape and using a wire brush didn't help. He had one replacement belt and that was a tan belt and had a waffle patern look. The owner put it on a ball return and it worked fine, but can't find more like it. Is there something that you would think would work better in his center because I have notice bowling balls are slipping a little and are getting black marks on the balls. Thanks for any help, I'm just trying to help them out because I bowled in their center for 50 years.
