Love my 30i’s! You just can’t beat their comfort and sound quality for the pricce! I actually find them to be more comfortable than headphones I’ve warn costing ten times as much! My ears do get hot easily so i much prefer on ear headphones. They are not the epitome of sound quality, but are pretty good, especially for thirty bucks!
dunno if you guys cares but if you're stoned like me atm then you can stream pretty much all of the new movies and series on InstaFlixxer. Have been binge watching with my brother for the last couple of months :)
Great review. I have Portapro and KSC-75 but like the clear KPH look. Drivers look like Portapros so I suspect they sound alike. All the small Koss hphones are great. I love cheap headphones that punch waaay above their price. For me that's also the $12 JVC HA-S160 'Flats'. Those things have a *powerful* sound signature and are well built for that price. They sound like much bigger headphones than their small size, and being closed back can pound your ear canal with bass in movies, tv and music. Mids decent and top end is sharp, but to my ears they mellow over time. Highly recommended addition to any great/cheap can arsenal.
I have watch a few of your reviews over the past few months and enjoy what you are doing. I bought the OSD Nero Studio 5 because of your review and just put them in the bedroom. Thanks
Heard great things about these and your video send to echo that as well. Too bad they're about twice the price in my country :/ Did you end up running the giveaway for the extra set you got? I'd be super keen to enter and try my luck at getting my hands on a set :)
I ended up giving the extra set to my 12 year old niece for her birthday. She plays piano loves music and only had a cheap set of Bluetooth headphones. She really likes them my aunt says she uses them all the time now.
Hi, some say that there're some differences between the clear and the solid, I usually listen most metal and occasionally classical in my HD 58X, but I am looking for a "handy" one, which one do you recommend me? The clear or the solid?
I still prefer my orginal. The clear are still very good for the money but seems to have a little less body or richness to the sound. I hate using personal subjective terms but yeah. I'd go with the original. I also recommend the Koss KSC75. Watch my review on those. Stupid good for $18
How's the soundstage in gaming ? Are they good in gaming ? I would be doing the Grado pads mods and remove the stock pads. I've heard it significantly improves the audio quality and bass.
Yeah, even treble and comfort. I haven't used them for gaming myself, but even if it isn't good enough for gaming, they are worth buying for music alone at its price point. I live in Europe and have imported 6 pairs already as they are incredibly hard to find in stock here, unless they have hiked up the price to about $80.
I have done the mods you mentioned and have tried them with gaming. With the games I play (FPS), the treble is bit harsh for me, but otherwise they are pretty great. I play apex legends and when you hit shots on people it makes a pretty sharp noise and it is a bit painful with the kph30i. This may be something that could be fixed with an EQ, but it is easier for me to reach for my sennheiser pc37x for gaming. I do grab the kph30i for music though and I prefer them for music over the pc37x, which are over $100.
The clears aren't as good as the standard ones. They're still VERY good for $25 headphones. But that damping material made a good bit of difference imo.
They both are great, I'd decide based on environment. These won't bother people around you if they're turned up. The SHP9500 are wide open so everyone around you will clearly hear what you got playing. The SHP9500 also don't have much clamp or grip on the head so you have to sit pretty still or they move around or fall off. The KPH30i are comfortable super light and you could work out or clean house and they won't move. Pure fidelity wise SHP9500 👍
@@iowaudioreviews Thanks for response. For about 60$ more do you think shp9500 are worth it or should i just get kph30i's and be good with them. Also i was on planing to buy ath-m40x's. Maybe you could give me suggestions? That would be much appreciated!
How are you powering them? I use my old Galaxy S9 most of the time with them and stream from Amazon Music HD. I use SpotEQ to adjust my sound depending what I'm listening to. Theres nothing wrong with some EQ, Joe'n tell has mentioned this as well. Seems like EQ has been talked down the last 30 years 🤔. To expect any setup to be perfect for you beginning to end can long be long shot and EQ just makes the target bigger. I even EQ my Sennheiser HD6XX and SHP9500. Thanks for watching.

Love these and my Porta Pros. My 2 daily drivers, amazing sound and value.

@Jude Steven Definitely, I've been watching on instaflixxer for since november myself :D
these bad boys punching tight as hell for what they look like

Dude, I sent my Senn HD 590s back and bought a second set of these! Couldn’t stand the weight and clamp for barely better sound.
I was worried that the plastic band on these would break easily. Yours are still in one piece?
Who is that fellow watching your back, is he a Gorgonite? I can't remember the name of the movie. By the way great video, I'm buying mine tomorrow.
Sucks the Clear is sold out currently and not sure when they'll be back in stock.

@@iowaudioreviews nice, that would have been an awesome present for them :) Nothing better than the gift of good headphones 👌

I also prefer my orginal grays. The clears do sound a tad different but unless the listener owned both and listened back to back they'd never know.
whats better sound wise these or shp9500?

@@zaldisvatlers1410 I say go with the Koss KPH30i, I doubt you'd be disappointed.
@@iowaudioreviews just ordered one pair of kph30i's... i hope they last for about a year to me also :D Any exceptional tips to not break them?
Clears sound is not as impactful as the non clear version . Both do however have very pleasing sound
Just got one, but to me, it seems too warm. I'm not saying it's bad.
