The reason is because if you move it closer to the sun the hotter it gets and the further you put it from the sun the colder it will get. The change wont be as drastic as you may think and our body would be able to adapt the sadness. One more thing, moving the earth doesnt affect the weather because the weather depends on the cloud and the hapiness in it.

Another thing not covered in the video: launching something into the sun requires significantly more fuel than just launching it into orbit. ~28 km/second vs 9 km/second. It'd be cheaper just to send it out of the solar system.

Our earth is pretty far from having the problem that wall-e has. Our would would become overpopulated before that happened. Which granted that the more people=more trash. People can blame anything and anyone (yeah, tools, currencies included) to avoid responsibility (and those who don't just want to avoid responsibility end up being the only ones who accept too much blame, the others are partying with little to no care about that or anything, and they even judge others non stop), but the problem truly lies in that unbalanced mentality and in creating more problems and burdens and obstacles than those we (supposedly all) take on... And most are trolling, especially the stupid (who create or maintain even more issues), but the joke's on them too. Who cares about correcting and undoing their own (willingly acquired) self destructive stupidity when they can continue hiding behind others' equally bad choices and mistakes?

I am relieved. Before I watched this I thought you were going to say that the act of incinerating our waste in the sun would have bad consequences, such as a toxic chemical reaction or deadly solar flares.
Maybe we could remove the explosives from our nuclear missiles, put the garbage in them and launch them into the sun instead? It would cost less because they've already been built, and beautifully, it would remove the threat of a nuclear strike from the planet.

He didn't even address sending it to the sun. He just talked about getting it into space. Sending a spacecraft into the sun is INCREDIBLY hard. You'd have to get it going extremely fast at least as fast as the earth's orbital speed to bleed off that velocity (67,000 MPH) . Only two manmade objects in the history of man have achieved this velocity.
Wish we can partner an alien race that eats trash and as their food source. As a return, they can provide us some alien tech. They could also setup marketplace in Uranus. That's a good interstellar business.✌️

All you people are over complicating this entire process. It's extremely simple. First we need somebody to take a 56 hour drive to a universe where everything is made of antimatter (coating their car and themselves with vacuum fluid of course). Then, they have to ask the people living there to bring their trash to the freeway in between the two universes. Then we launch both of the piles of trash at each other with gigantic catapults, and since one is made of antimatter and one is made of matter they're both equally destroyed and it releases energy. Once that energy is released, we can capture it in mason jars to fuel a rocket, enough to take it to Mars. Once we get to Mars, that'll be the most important place anyone has ever gone.
