Completely agree with you guys. Last year, I did Carnival & it was $50/day (they cap it at 15 drinks per 24 hours.) Friend & I easily did 8-10 drinks a day... it's vacation, you're not even thinking about how much you're drinking! Plus the sodas (and CCL included bottled water!) - it was a no-brainer.
I heard carnival gives you ONLY 15 drinks a day , that's crazy because on NCL theres no limit on how many drinks a day and by the afternoon I'm way past 15 drinks and shots lol cruise on
I'm partial to NCL, they have for some time had a complimentary drinks package. You do have to pay the gratuity for the normal purchase price which I believe is less than $12 per day so totally worth it. This covers all but the most expensive drinks. I still like to tip the bartenders along the way as I'm not confident the gratuity filters completely down to them plus you get better drinks and service!
Love you both!!!!! I agree the drink package is so worth it. I also drink champagne for breakfast on a cruise so i get my money's worth after two or three days(7day cruise) And i hardly feel drunk since im out in the sun all day
Hello everyone. I definitely think it's worth it. I looked at all of the comments and I just wanted to add that in the US, even if you have the drinks package it doesn't include tax if you have drinks before you set sail from a US port. It happen to me in the port of Miami. Fortunately I didn't drink much. Just wanted to share. Love the channel.
I'm going on Viking in a couple of months. A 14 night cruise is $279 for the drinks package, or $20 per day. It caps at drinks more than $15 dollars but looking on the menu has almost nothing that expensive. Wine and beer, however, are free to all passengers with lunch and dinner in the dining rooms - but still, $20 is nothing in the end when you like a some cocktails and soda or juice outside of the dining rooms and I've heard that the non-dining rooms meals are just as good as the dining room and some people don't go in there at all.
Hi guys ! Have only just found your channel and really enjoyed it .Havent tried cruising yet , thinking about trying it next year , with my husband and two teens , so thanks for all the pros n cons .Keep up the good work x
I cruise with royal Caribbean. Always get a drinks package. I'm not a big drinker when I'm home in UK and only drink maybe twice a year but when I'm on a cruise I can easily drink 15 drinks a day. think it's because it's being mopped up by all the food!
you forgot that gratuities are not included. Every time you get a drink, it is like 18%. And if you go to a bartender, they want tips on top of that. A lot of times, they treat the passengers without a package better because of the expectation that they will get a bigger tip.
On my last 4 nights cruise, the drink package was worth it; considering most drinks I got were $12-$18 or more! Also it was a short cruise so it wasnt so pricey for me.
Honest Cruising !!! Totoally. I ended up drinking 3-4 drinks, at least 1-2 premium coffee/latte, bottle water, and 1-2 wine at dinner time... All per day base!
If you're drinking alcohol it's worth it - and if you're quite a drinker OR a drinker of cocktails as you mentioned cocktails are expensive. BUT if you're just into soft drinks it is NOT worth it, as cruiselines like Royal Caribbean allow you to bring 12 500ml bottles of drinks onboard! So it's a LOT cheaper to buy your own and bring it on board. You aren't allowed to bring in alcohol, but you CAN bring in non alcoholic drinks!
You guys are great! I predict huge things for Honest Cruising. I love cruises and I'm glad I found you. You are a pleasure to watch with the information you give, your chemistry, sense of fun and quality of your videos! I see from Twitter that you are local too! Are there any regional cruise events you know of? I heard of one a while back in Peterbrough.
Hi Mel, Welcome to our channel and thank you for your lovely comments. :-D I am unaware of any cruise specific shows in the region. I know there are many that happen throughout the year in London and Birmingham.
I find it’s worth it. Especially on sea days where definitely drinking more. I also find if your not huge drinker you end up drinking more when on vacation. That least my experience.
I've heard of some drinks packages including gelato and this would make it so worth it for me - along with everything else - cos I smell sea air and I'm programmed (since childhood) to want ice-cream (and no, softserve does NOT count)
On Royal Caribbean, are you able to buy as much booze on board as you wish? Can you buy bottles of wine to consume in your cabin (from the on board sellers)? Thanks.
I feel like this video is showing me that I might be an alcoholic lol, 6 cocktails per day? I’ll have that by lunch! I’m so excited about our unlimited beverage package on NCL Getaway! Love Love love you guys!!!!! ❤️
My husband and I are thinking about doing the premium drink package our next cruise cuz....liquor is the way lololol and everything else. We are tequila drinkers too so Boleros here we come
I get that if one person buys a package, then everyone has to, but does everyone has to buy the same level of package? My fiancé drinks but I can’t so I wonder if we are better getting the non alcoholic all inclusive and the him buy his drinks separately, or getting the alcoholic all inclusive? We plan to cruise on royal Caribbean.
My point exactely.... The average woman drinks less than the average man if at all.... But then all those lattés, smoothies and espressso by the pool side bar also are not included so ...... Food for thought.... :)
another good video guys... keep them coming. how about a video on the taboo subject of romance on board. being single and meeting somebody, who's being naughty, and acceptance of lgbtiq persons on board.... sizzle sizzle would make for some interesting comments.
I love the drink package and purchase it every time we cruise. I actually kept all of the receipts on a cruise where we didn't buy the package and discovered it was so worth it to get the drinks package. We have been loyal lately to NCL so travelers need to be aware that NCL does not include specialty coffees in their drink package. Besides the high initial expense for NCL, this is probably my biggest issue.
I do not understand not being able to get a cup of coffee at the Atrium Cafe for free with the UBP. I could get 15 drinks that cost over $10 a piece but if I wanted a $4 cup of coffee I had to pay for it??? Fortunately the first NCL cruise we went on we got to choose 2 upgrades and one of our choices was the beverage package. We had to pay gratuities on it but that is not a lot when you consider how much drinks would be on the cruise. When we booked our next one it came with 4 free upgrades and one of them was the UBP. Yeah!!
whats up guys we have been doin NCL for the last 8 cruises and b4 they didn't have a UBP and we like 2 drank lol , over 1,200 bucks the first 2 cruises ,we always do a 7 or more day cruise then we started buyin the package , so worth the money. no caps only restriction drinks had to be under 12 or 14 bucks , but as many as you can drink and when we go to da club omg shots shots shots lol , now the drinking package is included with our room yes we pay for tips (as everyone does) but your on vacation enjoy yourselves , relax and drink up its one of the reasons why we work , and yes i throw a extra somethin somethin to some bartenders and servers and they show the love back so if you like to drink no matter what cruise line your on I suggest you get it WELL WORTH IT cause they do add up lol , cruise on
Worth it for me but then your spouse has to buy the same.... I don't know about you but my girlfriend doesn't drink as much as me.... So the cruise line makes money with her.... Of course you have to account for all the lattés, expressos and smoothies by the pool side.... I think it's still fun to just snap your fingers and have whatever drinks comming non-stop.... lol .

Going on the allure in June and yes I bought the drink package pre boarding and on sale! What a deal thanks guys!
Love you guys! Going on RC in April and was on the fence about the drink pkg. Thank you for helping me decide to get it!
Thanks guys learn alot from you all we are 1st timers

Hey nattga, Welcome! :-D It's great to hear about your drinks package experience, thanks for posting.

Aren't those drink packages based on occupancy of the room as well? So both people in the cabin have to buy it?
That policy changes between each cruise line so I would check the cruise lines policy first. :-)

Thanks I will look out for the London ones x
Thanks sooooo much! I was really debating on if it's worth it, but I see that it definitely is. Thanks guys!!

On RCL if one person gets the drink package, everyone at least 21 years old in the cabin have to buy one also.
Plus the gratuities packages on the Viking river cruise
On Royal Caribbean, are you able to buy as much booze on board as you wish? Can you buy bottles of wine to consume in your cabin (from the on board sellers)? Thanks.
+Dude Eronomy No there are restrictions on bringing alcohol onboard. You may bring Wine onboard limited to two (2) 750 ml bottles per stateroom.
I feel like this video is showing me that I might be an alcoholic lol, 6 cocktails per day? I’ll have that by lunch! I’m so excited about our unlimited beverage package on NCL Getaway!
Love Love love you guys!!!!! ❤️
No worries you are on vacation.
breakfast cocktail, lol too cute
man last cruise i was on beer was more than 6 bucks. just a warning if you think i dont need the package..ill onky have a few beer!
Hi Guys have you looked at the drinks packages on the MSC line for your November trip?
Hey Kay, Yeah have got the drinks package. It very reasonable.
Great - will look at them then, will be the first time we have thought about them thanks to you both.
Unfortunately they charge all adults in the cabin. My wife is not a drinker do it's twice the amount for me. Wish it wasn't so but it is.
My husband and I are thinking about doing the premium drink package our next cruise cuz....liquor is the way lololol and everything else. We are tequila drinkers too so Boleros here we come
Can i purchase 1 and share with my partner? Additionally can i not buy drinks from duty free?
Not with Princess, I don’t know what the others do.
I get that if one person buys a package, then everyone has to, but does everyone has to buy the same level of package? My fiancé drinks but I can’t so I wonder if we are better getting the non alcoholic all inclusive and the him buy his drinks separately, or getting the alcoholic all inclusive? break out that calculator and don't forget that on the 3 days on shore, well, you won't be on the boat drinking!
Long storie short.... You have to drinks a shit load to break even..... lol
So I don't drink but my husband do . Do we both have to pay for the drink package
It varies from cruise line to cruise line Yulanda. Some require everyone in the stateroom to buy the package.
On a quest to watch all of the videos?
How bout if your partner gets the package and she can just get you drinks as well?
Hi King. The package is not allowed to be shared. On some lines all adults in your cabin has to buy the same package.
@@Cruisewith how will they know though?
another good video guys... keep them coming. how about a video on the taboo subject of romance on board. being single and meeting somebody, who's being naughty, and acceptance of lgbtiq persons on board.... sizzle sizzle would make for some interesting comments.
Haha! We are travelling with solo travellers on our next cruise so they may have an insight into the romance onboard after, you never know!

Is it my imagination or did you guys have a good old time making this episode? Cheers
Worth it for me but then your spouse has to buy the same.... I don't know about you but my girlfriend doesn't drink as much as me.... So the cruise line makes money with her....
