To start, my first improvements to make the 1st house more modern would be changing the kitchen and bathroom fixtures, painting the cabinets, changing the cabinet and door knobs, and adding some updated light fixtures in the main living spaces. I feel like these are pretty simple upgrades that make an impact, are mostly cost effective, and you're able to do it on your own very quickly compared to a larger reno.
Resident here! This was a great video. If like to add that we are about 4 miles from the Target in Oxon Hill. In addition, the neighborhood is great for walking or biking.
I like National Harbor, but ultimately decided to purchase in Alexandria. I live close to Old Town and I'm very happy with my decision to stay in Northern VA. We have lower property taxes than National Harbor, MD and, I don't have to pay county income taxes, so it's a win. I love Alexandria!
New subscriber here! Will be relocating to the D/M/V area in the Spring. I didn’t have Maryland as an option but the last community has convinced me. Not sure if you did a ranking list of Maryland cities close to DC or some kind of list that’s close, but I’d like to see that video
@@BashirBadruDMVRealtor based on this area, I could add it. DC or Alexandria. I will have to set up a zoom call because I have seen some great properties but no garage and I definitely need one.
My biggest issue with the National Harbor is the isolation from other parts of the DMW without driving. If there was a metro station as well as pedestrian/biking access to Oxon Hill and/or Alexandria it would be fantastic. Regardless, great video showcase.
re: the first home - I will NEVER understand why builders put bathrooms in the kitchen in some townhomes. Yuck! Anyway, I wish I would have purchased when they were building these years ago. Prices were in the low 400k price range. UGH!
@@BashirBadruDMVRealtor at that time, it was a couple of things. It was a little out of my budget back then and along with those high HOA fees, my monthly payment would have been too high. I was also looking for single family. I ended up purchasing in Waldorf which was great then but the area is a little too congested now. If my husband and I decide to make a move, I will definitely keep you in mind. I really enjoy your vids!
Love the location and some of the floor plans. They seem to lack a lil something for the price points… I know location, location. I’ve viewed Chicago & LA properties w/elevators. Lugging groceries, strollers and luggage. Whew 😅 Thx4Info
@@BashirBadruDMVRealtor Crime, schools and community members(rude). I am native Marylander; Howard County and Hagerstown. I currently live out the US, but need to move back 4 months out the year.

Wow, 5he design or poor use of space and arrangement inmthe first showing whoa the powder room in the kitchen is not a good look, upstairs the master bedroom is smaller than the room leadeing out to the balcony, and yes the closet in the second floor bedroom is as big as theroom... thats rough, plus the cabinetry and bathroom fixtures are from the 90's... for 665,000... geez..
So disappointing! Bedrooms in the first townhouse are smaller than majority of apartments in the DMV area. Also, the schools in the district are a mess, including private schools.

@@SummersJourney-d5d Alexandria is great as well
We also live near RiverTowne in Oxon Hill with Safeway and Aldi.
Thank you! You toured a house I was interested in. The second property. Now, I have better feel for it. ❤
@@dovetales3 you’re welcome ☺️
Smart man. Glad you used the correct pronunciation. Prince George's county.
Gotta love a house when every bedroom is an en suite.
IMO, it unpleasant when the guest bathroom opens to the kitchen.
Love a rooftop deck!
good point. most people don’t t like the guest bathroom being so close to the kitchen .

Second home..did it for me..the last one wasn't bad tho..I believe that the prices for all 3 were quite reasonable 😀💯
There's a Safeway, Aldi and Target right down the street for groceries. You don't have to go to WF unless you absolutely want to.

I’m with you on the bathroom thing. I don’t even want a bathroom attached to my bedroom.
Nice area but it reminds me of many new 'Lifestyle Centers' around the country. Those Maryland Crab shops are nice.

Exactly, the floorplans are wasn't well thought out.
Strongly considering National Harbor, though I'm not a fan of PG county or being that close to VA. The amenities and water taxi to DC!

Agreed. I was waiting to see the hype over One National Harbor as a Navy Yard resident.
I’m upgrading the kitchen first in the first home ! That’s my sanctuary😅
Good choice!
There is a small grocery store at National Harbor. Beautiful homes. Too bad the public school system sucks there. Hard to sell to a family with kids.
