Harbin Ice and Snow World International Ice and Snow Festival has been held for more than 30 years. Harbin is completely different. Central Street and Xuexiang are beautiful fairy tale worlds. That is my hometown, too.
Probably you don't connect with local people much when you live in China! Harbin Is super popular city to travel in winter time, especially from last year
I hesitated when my friend invited me to this festival 6 years ago because I was busy working in Taipei and wondered whether I could do well in such cold weather. I went anyway and now I have to say I'm glad I made the right decision. It's a once-in-a-lifetime experience. So beautiful!
What a creative approach to convert skilled labor, artistic ingenuity and the capacity of LED production into an industrial wonder and tourism attraction.
Dry snow creaking, squeezing sound under feet each step taken remind me of college time in 1970s walking at night to University of Wisconsin Madison computer center to run the computer program in punched cards!
I’m still not brave enough to visit Harbin in winter. I can barely handle the temperature in Shanghai let alone up north! Maybe one year I’ll be brave enough to 😅 Thanks for sharing, I’ll live vicariously through you 😂 Happy New Year to you and your family ❤
Harbin looks like an European city, the building style is totally different from other Chinese cities, there are many old buildings and church around the city, welcome to Harbin.
The Temple of Heaven and Macau church ruins ice sculptures and all of the snow sculptures at the end looked amazing! I wonder if anything is sprayed over the snow sculptures to protect them like people do with sand sculptures~
They spray the sand sculptures with water, I think, to make them firm. Didn't see anyone spraying the ice. In fact, the reunification monument from Golden Bauhinia Sq actually looked like it was melting. Obviously, it wasn't because it was still below freezing. Maybe an optical illusion.
Bravo, Szetu! Although Harbin had became so "hot" during this year end season, but its indeed a challenge for little potato like me from southern to enjoy such a trip, under such extremely low temperature 😅🥶
OMG, you can't go straight from Xiamen to Harbin, you will need some buffering area, like Shanghai or Qingdao (or anywhere in the middle as long as there is great food)
You dress up TOO much and you will sweat ! When I was doing my undergrad in Canada (temp at -30 degree C) I only put on a pair of jean, a T-shirt and a ski-jacket plus woolen socks and running shoe !!! And I still sweat !!!!
Pls don't go to Harbin. It's a very dangerous place. Our 59 year old friend and colleague went there. She slipped n fell backwards n hit her head. She became unconscious and certified brain death. Human life is more important than one day experience.
I’ve lived in China for 6 years and I didn’t know this place existed 😮 China always surprises me with its hidden gems 😁😁😁

China is massive and huge. Need a whole life time to explore

Thanks for showing us this amazing ice festival. The ice city is so magical. All the ice sculptures are masterpieces.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Just incredible to see those ice sculptures. And also your potato clothes is also astounding noticeable by many.
It’s freezing cold, but worth it! And the potato outfit is superb, even if I say so myself.
What a creative approach to convert skilled labor, artistic ingenuity and the capacity of LED production into an industrial wonder and tourism attraction.
I like the snow carvings and the ice block sculptures were so beautiful glistening in the sun!
This Ice and Snow World is AMAZING, INCREDIBLE !!!!!

I once went to the arctic circle in winter thinking my usual winter-wear would be fine. Rented a Canada Goose jacket from my hotel on day one.
It's definitely not a casual walk in the park.
Happy New to you. You crazy man.
Thank you very much for your share 😄 🙏🏿 😊 😀 ☺️ 🙂
You're welcome! Glad you enjoyed it!
I wanna go there next month
Two of you are still young at heart 💓 Lovely video Mr. Potato😊
Thank you 😁

It only took me 17 years to work up the courage
@ 😂😂 maybe in another 10 years I’ll visit. Slowly need to acclimatize to the cold first, maybe I should sit in the freezer as practice 🤔
And Happy New Year!
Wow, I wish I could go there😢😢😢
thank you very much for your videos 👍🏻 🎉❤
Harbin is the most popular cold city during this time period...
Thank you
You're more than welcome
Hahaha😂😂😂You need to cover your face, too, for that cold. But then your fans couldn't recognise you.
Amazing 👍✌️❤️😘
Glad you liked it
Love potato chips ! Just fry it ! ^^
French Fries with Gravy 😂

My hometown is Harbin, but I am studying in the United States now. Harbin is really a good city. I recommend everyone to visit it.🎉

I'm glad you enjoyed the video, and I hope you can wear your potato costume soon!
Xiamen is like Hawaii , Harbin is like twice colder than in Winterfell, game of thrones..
Red Note brought me here…
Welcome, welcome! I also have a rednote account. Feel free to find me: 司徒建国Stu

Hahaha... the time I went in early 2010s... it was -36C during the day in Harbin
Chilly!
Night time is even more beautiful than day time !

Btw the Snow carnival at Songhua River is amazing and more affordable! I spent 50 rmb at the slide, with unlimited attempt! So much fun😂
Wow, that sounds amazing! It looks like I need to add that to my list for my next trip to Harbin!
😮😮😮
I heard there are ice sculptures of Terracotta Warriors. Have you seen them? Can you take a picture of them?
I didn't see them, so I don't know if that's true. Sorry.
I have since seen reports about them, they look very cool!
@@TravelinChina Thank yoyu!
I was there last night with my husband and brother in-law. We couldnt get the tickets for the super slides😢.
Ah, I'm sorry to hear that. The slides look like so much fun! I didn't get to ride them either.
i love the cold but not ice cold haha But it will definitely be a view to see
It’s really something special! But I know what you mean, I'm not a fan of the cold either.
Potato suit, superstar🤣
🥔🥔🥔
Pffff hahahahaha yeah saw you in Wilko’s video didn’t expect that was you 😂😂😂😂
Potatoes are a kind of fruit??? I thought it's a kind of legume.
I think I was talking rubbish.
Is it possible to rent winter clothes in Harbin? 😂
Probably not. You can buy lots there, and it's not expensive.
@TravelinChina ok thanks 🙏
May the world peace forever
-16 haha, you dress for -35!! Nice visit
🌈🌈🌈

Ottawa in Canada has Winterlude and is similar to this.
Cool, I've never heard about that. Searching videos right now.
It is said that the one in Canada is much smaller. Completely different scale.

You dressed too much. Just need to wear a face cover for your face.
Hello Mr. Potato 😊
