I beg to disagree. Su-30MKI is not a dedicated ground attack - it's an air superiority multirole aircraft and forms the backbone of our defence. For tactical strike missions we have Mirage 2000H but for dedicated ground attack missions to pulverise enemy radar or sam sites or their airfields - we have an equally formidable aircraft - Sepecat Jaguar. Yes, the Jaguars are the dedicated ground attack aircraft and probably IAF is the only air force still using these beauties. Hope this helps.

Su-34 was initially designed to operate in proximity to AAA, so they added armour on it, crippling it's air-to-air performance, bc aircraft became a lead sled. And then Ukraine happened. During initial phase of war Su-34s tried to dump bomb some of the objectives, apart from absolutely abysmal accuracy of these bombing runs, 34s suffered losses from remaining Ukrainian SAMs. Bc despite of its armour package Su-34 can't tank a missile. And with the arrival of Patriot and NASAMS dump bombing essentially became suicidal. And there's my point why tf you trade good flight performance for the armour if it can't protect the aircraft, and worse, it makes aircraft more vulnerable? VKS already have SU-30SM, that can carry every air-to-ground munition that Su-34 can. And bc SM is significantly more agile, it's less vulnerable to SAMs. Right now it's a better air-to-ground planform than Su-34, and it can do air-to-air as well.
