  • Hindu Gods in Iraq? The Yazidi Mystery! | Harry Sahota
    In the heart of Northern Iraq lies a community steeped in an ancient and enigmatic religion: the Yazidis. Their faith, shrouded in secrecy for centuries, holds surprising connections to Hinduism, sparking curiosity and raising questions about their origins and unique beliefs.
    This video delves into the fascinating world of the Yazidis, exploring the remarkable parallels they share with Hinduism and uncovering the reasons behind their veil of secrecy.
    A People of Resilience
    The Yazidi population is estimated to be between 200,000 and 1 million, primarily concentrated in the Kurdistan region of Iraq. Their faith, Yazidism, is a closed religion, meaning one cannot convert in. To be Yazidi, you must be born into a Yazidi family.
    Their history is a testament to resilience. Yazidis have faced relentless persecution throughout the centuries, enduring over 74 documented genocides. The most recent and brutal came at the hands of ISIS in 2014, where thousands were killed and enslaved.
    Secrecy: A Shield of Survival
    The Yazidi culture of secrecy is a strategic adaptation born from a history of violence. After the rise of Islam in the 7th century, many pagan and polytheistic religions faced persecution. To safeguard their unique beliefs, Yazidis retreated into a closed community, keeping their rituals and traditions hidden from outsiders.
    Echoes of Hinduism in Yazidi Beliefs
    Despite the geographical distance, the Yazidis share some striking similarities with Hinduism. Their primary deity, Melek Tawus, is often depicted as a peacock, a symbol strongly associated with the Hindu god Murugan, also known as Kartikeya. Both are seen as leaders and warriors.
    Furthermore, Yazidis celebrate their New Year in April, coinciding with the Hindu New Year celebrations. The Lalish Temple, their holiest site, features murals and architectural elements that bear resemblance to Hindu temple structures.
    A Shared Ancestry? The Debate Continues
    These parallels have led some to believe in a possible connection between the Yazidis and ancient India. The Yazidi spiritual leader, Khurto Hajji Ismail, believed their ancestors migrated from South India to Kurdistan around 5,000 BCE.
    However, the exact origins of the Yazidis remain a mystery. Archaeological evidence and historical records are scarce, making it difficult to conclusively prove a direct link to ancient India.
    Beyond Similarities: The Uniqueness of Yazidism
    While the connections to Hinduism are undeniable, Yazidism is not simply a derivative of the Hindu faith. It has evolved over time, incorporating elements of Zoroastrianism, Judaism, and Christianity.
    Their belief system revolves around seven divine angels, with Melek Tawus as the leader. Unlike some Hindu traditions, Yazidis believe in a single creation event by God, who then created the seven angels. They also hold a belief in reincarnation and a karmic cycle, similar to Hindu concepts.
    A Look Forward: Preserving a Heritage
    Despite the hardships they've endured, the Yazidis continue to preserve their unique cultural identity. Today, they strive to rebuild their lives after the devastation caused by ISIS. International support plays a vital role in their ongoing recovery.
    By raising awareness about the Yazidis, we can bridge cultural divides and promote tolerance for diverse religious beliefs. This resilient community holds a rich tapestry of traditions and a fascinating history that deserves to be explored and understood.

    Yazidi people clearly mention that their ancestors migrated from South. Interestingly what we can look into is their continuous practice of their own culture, dance, religion and faith and their temple, language, celebration of festivals etc. For them South means Asia and especially Hindustan.
    If indeed their ancestors came from South India especially from Tamil Nadu around 5000+ years ago then they should have some similarities between the Yazidi people and Tamil people. Most important of all is the language, worship of peacock angle Malek Tau, worshipping Fire, Peacock and Snake as representation of the God Supreme which are clearly associated with Lord Muruga Karthikeya son of Lord Shiva. Lord Muruga is also called a Siddha one who is attained supreme knowledge and who infact taught the meaning of OM to his own father Lord Shiva.
    DNA sampling, Language words used for specific things need to be checked for similarities.
    What compelled these Yazidi people to migrate out of Tamil Nadu 5000+ years ago?
    The glacier ice melting and flooding happend and even great coastal cities went under water. Dwarka City of Lord Krishna which was repeatedly attacked by Salwa and Jarasandh and badly damaged and destroyed and eventually sunk into the sea. Southern cities like pumphuar, danushkodi, Rameshwaram, the land bridge between Hindustan and Sri Lanka went under the sea water. We need to see if any natural calamities such as great famine, earth quake, flooding, loss of agriculture farming crop failure due to locusts and other pests, devastating wars etc usually caused migration.
    How did they migrate? By land route it would have been sheer impossible due to the distance between Hindustan and Middle East into Adiyemen. It is quite possible that they might have used boats and ships. Ancient Tamil people were great mariners and had extensively used sea to cross across into far away places which were unknown much before Vasco De Gama and Christopher Columbus. One should see the presence of Aboriginal people in Indonesia, Australia who have a lot of similarities with the people of Tamil Nadu.
    Unfortunately due to their practice of faith which is completely different from Judaism, Christianity and Islam these Yazidi people remained totally land-locked between Iraq Syria Turkey. Islamic Jihadi groups and Turkish empire carried out genocide against the Yazidi people and the worst form of atrocities was carried out against them. They didn't give up on their faith and didn't accept Islam, ofcourse many of them were forced to convert unfortunately.
    Shiekh Adi means Guru Adi similar to Adi Sankara who hailed from Kaladi in Kerala and revived the Shaivism and Advaita and established Dharma. So the word Adi again is a Sanatana Sanskrit language word.
    A very well made video worth watching.

    • @Yashpromax
      @Yashpromax 10 дней назад +1

      Everything is right but they claimed to be migrated from 5000 bce means 7000 years ago and in the last paragraph Sheikh adi doesn't have any association with advait parampara neither with adi Shankaracharya ji and adi Shankaracharya ji was a smartha not a shaiv he revived Hinduism in India from the clutches of Buddhism he gave panch devata upasana

    • @worldofservicechennai279
      @worldofservicechennai279 10 дней назад +5

      @@Yashpromax i never said Sheik Adi has any association with Advaita parampara nor with Adi Sankara please read again. I said about the similarity of the name Adi. What is very intriguing is the picture of a woman clad in saree adorned with Jasmine flower and lighting a lamp inside the holy temple of the Yazidi people. That picture clearly shows a Hindustani looking woman and not a Middle Eastern looking. Lighting a lamp is considered very auspicious for the sanatana Dharma followers and this practice has been taught for centuries and passed down generations. There has been some visits by the Yazidi people delegation from Kurdistan to Hindustan in recent times and interaction between Hindus practicing Murugan worship in South India. There are differences ofcourse. Down south people who worship Lord Muruga carryout a ceremony of piercing themselves with the spear called Vel and they pierce their tongue, cheeks, chest, backside, thighs almost everywhere. They also carry kavadi on their shoulders and walk long distance from their homes to the holy temple of Lord Muruga located in 6 different cities in South India during Tai Poosam. These practices have been carried out by the Tamil people in South India and now who have migrated to Sri Lanka, Far Eastern countries etc. However this kind of practice is not carried out by the Yazidi people. Ofcourse 7000+ years is a very long time period and sometimes some of the practices might have been left out.

      Dwaraka was never attacked by Jarasandha. It is actually Mathura that was constantly being attacked by Jarasandha (father-in-law of Krishna's uncle Kamsa. Kamsa died at hands of Krishna hence the enemity of Jarasandha against Krishna). After 17 times Jarasandha could not defeat Krishna but keeps damaging Mathura. Krishna finally decides to relocate his entire population to city of Mathura (constructed by Viswakarma on orders of Krishna). Mathura was submerged in sea which was a curse given by Gandhari (mother of Duryodhana) at end of Mahabharata war to Krishna.

    • @indianmilitary
      @indianmilitary 9 дней назад

      "some link"? There is lot of link. 🤣🤣Ancestors of Abrahamic religion followers were so called 'Pagans" (4000 BCE to 700 ACE) including "yazidis" who even though lost touch with correct understanding of Hindu/Vedic metaphysics and ended up as nature worshipers or polytheists (who lacked any understanding of inherent unity of every manifest thing including their multiple “gods”) they did retain some Vedic practices and guess who were the ancestors of so called Pagans? Hindu/Vedic people who ruled the whole world before 4000 BCE.
      It also means, there was NO white race before 4000 BCE. Eye color mutation and skin color change due to natural selection happened between 4000 BCE to 2000 BCE. There was permanent migration and settlement in Europe only after 4000 BCE.
      There are 33 types of Hindu/Vedic deities which are just symbolic representations of nature. So, there are no 33 or 330 million “gods”.
      12 Adityas
      11 Rudras
      8 vasus
      2 ashwini (solar deities)
      All 3 Abrahamic religions have lifted from the concept of 33 vedic deities (from so called paganism outside India)- 33 vedic deities is the reason why Jacob's ladder on which angel Gabriel came down to meet Mohammad/ Moses/ Mormon founder Joseph Smith etc has 33 steps.. 33 vedic deities is the reason why the Islamic rosary called Misbahah , to keep track of counting of Tasbih has 33 beads, to perform dhikr ( tasbeeh/ tahmeed/ takbeer ).. 33 vedic deities is the reason why in precise Torah, Elohim is written 33 times, genesis' story of creation .. Elohim means Canaanite god adopted by Jews.
      a. Jewish nation israel's flag has the star of david "symbol" which is nothing but Hindu heart chakra symbol still found in many ancient Hindu temples across India
      b. Christianity's trinity was copied from so-called "Pagans' ' who followed Hindu/Vedic thirumurthies Brahma/Visnu/Shiva in a half baked manner. Christians also took their Christmas tree from Pagans and Church bell concept from Hindu temple bell tradition. Christians are still digesting Hindu traditions like Yoga (calls it Christian yoga), nondual ADVAITHA metaphysics (calls it Jesus consciousness), Bharathanatiyam or dance movements which represent Vedic metaphysics (calls it Chrisitian “dance” or natiyam in Sanskrit) all done for easy proselytization of Hindus
      b. Islam's Kaaba stone "worship" is also a leftover of Pagan tradition. Mecca, where Kaaba or Shiva's stone deity is present, was a pilgrimage site for thousands of years for Hindus around the world. In south India, there is still an ancient KAABAlishwaran shiva temple.
      Mecca is distinct from other mosques all over the world - the practices followed within its portals are NOT the same as in other mosques all around the world. There are major similarities with ancient Hindu/Vedic practice
      Hindu/Vedic practices require devotees to enter temples in seamless white sheets.
      Hindu/Vedic prathikshanam ( circumambulation ) is walking round 7 times, clockwise. Muslims cannot kiss the black stone (which activates the 7 chakras of the human body) any more, emulating the kiss it received from the prophet, as the stone was broken in the middle ages and is now held by silver clamps and nails . Muslims now do 7 counter clockwise circles around the stone.
      The mysterious number 786 is sacred in the Koran. Nobody has been able to explain what it is, though it is printed on all Arabic Korans.
      Write HIndu Sanskrit mantra OM symbol ॐ ( sound frequency 7.83 Hertz ) and keep it facing a mirror and you can see like MAGIC the number 786 in Devanagari script.

    There was a major famine in whole of Indian subcontinent 7,000 years ago. This severe famine lasted not for a few years but lasted for over 400 years. This made the entire population of Bharath to evacuate Indian subcontinent and settle permanently throughout SouthEast Asian islands, Central Asia, West Asia, Europe, all around the Mediterranean sea and even Australia. This finding also debunked the imaginary "Aryan invasion" theory of the British narrative. There are numerous physical evidence to prove this exodus spanning over 100 years, probably the largest human migration ever. Common house-mice DNA from all over the world was traced back to Indian deccan plateau. Even some fruits like Apricot which were earlier thought to have origins from Aegean and Mediterranean regions, were now traced back to Kashmir and Himachal region of India.

      @@chetanneo123 I'm from Adi Shankara's native place. If you know the story of Onam, it's all about Shankaran taking the land from the land of Bali (then Ay Kingdom of South India). There's a Paliyam copper inscription (from the 8th century ) about Ay king Vikramaditya Varaguna giving some portion of his kingdom to Shankara as a donation to start a Buddhist monastery. Rest is history. Shankara took the land and spread the ideology of 4 Varna systems where the Brahmins are the top of the hierarchy. Now even Keralites also do not know that Buddhism ever existed in Kerala. Buddhism was there in Kerala from 3100 BCE till 8th century CE. Do not debate me that Buddhism started in the 1 century BCE. Kerala has a rich tradition of accepting the good and rejecting the bad ones. It will continue as well.
      Sanatan Dharma is a bad ideology in which it divides the society into 4 where the native of the land (current SC/ST and other backward castes) become Shudras, outsiders who came for trading become Vaishya, the people who are powerful with big land area become King and the Khazhari Jews (Ashkenazi Jew) who infiltrated the land from the time of Ravana become the supreme in the society.

Point is there is no concept of god or heaven or hell in dharmic traditions whether it is hindu, sikh, jain or buddhist. it also means, stone deities in Hindu temples are not 'worshiped" as gods. Stone deities are just objects of attraction for focus and meditation and also symbolic representation of nauture, laws of nature and well validated Vedic metaphysics. In the same way, there is no worship of any animate or inanimate other than "reverence" for it for doing its dharmic duty (for abiding by natural law) to sustain stability and harmony of the universe.
      Point is ancestors of Abrahamic religion followers were so called 'Pagans" (5500 BCE to 700 ACE) who even though lost touch with correct understanding of Hindu/Vedic metaphysics and ended up as nature worshipers or polytheists (who lacked any understanding of inherent unity of every manifest thing including their multiple “gods”) they did retain some Vedic practices and guess who were the ancestors of so called Pagans? Hindu/Vedic people who ruled the whole world before 6000 BCE.
      It also means, there was NO white race before 4000 BCE. Eye color mutation and skin color change due to natural selection happened only after 4000 BCE. There was permanent migration and settlement in Europe only after 4000 BCE.
      In other words, "Hindus" who lost touch with correct understanding of Hindu/Vedic metaphysics outside India ended up as "PAGANS" between 5500 BCE to 700 ACE and within the "pagan" tradition, few nut jobs further went down the path of craziness and created blind belief Abrahamic religions. 😂😂

      In reality in Indian subcontinent, majority islamic words come from Persian which is not islamic. The Arabic word for Namaz is Salat. And Khuda is persian word for God and there are chancea that God is derived from the word Khuda, which come from Vedic word Swatawa.

    My knowledge is very limited. During my childhood a person of my grandfather level told me that Lord Shiva ordered Lord Kartikey to look after the Southern part of globe and asked lord Ganesha to be in the Northern part. Thats why in northern India lord Ganesha is popularly worshipped but you hardly see any Karthikeyan temple. Where as Lord Karthikeyan is mostly worshipped in southern India.
    Actually my question was that we celebrate Lakshmi, Swarasati, and Ganesh Pooja, why not kartikeya pooja, after all kartikeya is also son of Shiva. In response to this question I got the above answer.
    May be Lord Kartikey traveled towards further south and present day Yazidis are the successor of Lord kartikey 's followers. May Lord Shiva protect them.

    Temple in Abu Dhabi is also evidence that people see Hindu Faith as a spiritual pathway rather than a religion

    • @indianmilitary
      @indianmilitary 8 дней назад

      It is not simply an "other wordly" "spiritual pathway". It is the reason why sri Krishna adviced Arjuna to fnish his relatives for stealing or cheating his family for greater good of society. Point is concept of dharma is very important in Hindu tradition since it is very much based on well validated Vedic metaphysics. yes, dharma is not the same as religion. The difference is religion applies only to human beings and not to the entire cosmos; there is no religion of electrons, monkeys, plants and galaxies, whereas all of them have their dharma even if they carry it out without intention.
      In dharmic traditions, the word a-dharma applies to humans who fail to perform righteously; it does not mean refusal to embrace a given set of propositions as a belief system or disobedience to a set of commandments or canons because there is no concept of god in Hindu dharmic tradition
