I agree, but I don't think the otter would've made a difference. Even if Veno's Karkinos survived to the giga, it would've been killed and the carchar would've killed the giga just the same.
The spider killing the carchar is a victory in its own right. Lost the war, but won the battle. Congrats to Veno. Really fun series, will be eagerly awaiting a season 2.

Few ideas for season 2: 1. Normal Spin Wheel but with alpha creatures (you can force tame them) 2. Spin Wheel but race - you have some distance for your all 6 creatures to run and who has lover sum of time of their creatures win 3. Normal rules but there is only 1v1 fights and for every fight won you have 1 point. If the final result is 3:3, you fight rest of your creatures in your classic way to see who is the winner 4. Normal Spin Wheel but after taming 6 of creatures you spin wheel to see what 2 of this 6 creatures you have to give back to your opponent 5. Normal Spin Wheel but you only looking for creatures you can ride and fightinng riding your creatures 6. Normal Spin Wheel but time is important - when one of you tame all 6 creatures, the second one need to stop taming (so if the second one have only 4 creatures tamed it's his problem)

Otters actually do spawn in Gen 1, they have a very small spawn location at the same lake penguins and beavers spawn at, you have to activate the fishing mission and use their fish to tame one as far as I know

Also I have a little something for you both to do, tame creatures that are from real life (and yes, the Roll Rat, Karkinos, Lampery, Snow Owl, Gas Bag and the Tek Creatures you can get count). ayyyyyy was a close battle with the end ending in a tie breaker. Very excited for a season 2, we'll see if Veno can keep up his luck or you come back with a vengeance for the win haha
A storage war style battle would be nice. Put up a box for every creature and have a 3rd party put a piece of dermis (or whatever that skin thing is called you can harvest from dinos with the taxidermy tool) inside then take turns picking random boxes
Also what's funny about the Pachy Raas had? I played The Hunted and had a group of Pachys. Those things hit kinda hard and gather thatch. I loved mine :3
My idea for season 2: You spin a wheel to choose cathegory (Any cathegories go: Flyers, shoulder pet, tanky, can glide, has no variant versions (X-R-Aberation), passive tame and so on). Then you finished spinning the wheel and chose the cathegory, you spin the wheen with this cathegory dinos.
Congratulations to veno with the dingelcup and congratulations to raasclark with the losercup. Next season do a naked run from one side of a map to the other side, the person that survives the longest or beats the other person to the finnish wins.
Should commission someone with a 3d printer to make a costume trophy for the next season if it happens with all the ark dinos that won the final battle.
