The arts for the cards are actually from the dvd covers instead of the other way around. In Japan they release 6 dvds with 2-3 episodes each instead of pack them all in one so those art are specifically drawn for each covers. Since this is only one box they have to use all those six arts for something else like inner covers, back covers, disks, cards etc.
It takes some getting used to for sure. I recommended it to my younger brother and he had an issue with the art style as well, but that being said he just finished the first season and loved it

I literally started watching mob today. My mom didn't like the art style but I said you'll get use to it. I'm only on episode 5 but its cool so far.
