imagine telling him" hey man in about 30 years your voice wont have changed one bit" pretty awesome honestly its weird how young he sounds even when hes 60.... if you play this back to back with the 2019 performance and just scroll down theres almost no difference!
it's not a hard voice to do, doesn't really hurt the voice to achieve. it relies primarily on his accident, most singers sing wrong as hell and actually destroy their vocal cords rather than build them. thats what Liam Gallagher did.
@@gang6009 well yeah sure he doesn’t have a raspy style which would be hard on the vocal cords but that’s being said it’s the fact that he still sounds like he’s in his 20/ meanwhile he’s like 60. Most singers even if still pitch perfect sound noticeably different with age. Deeper tone maybe little more shaky. He still sounds really young. That’s the weird thing.
It’s December 17 and I just had my morning coffee sips at 3 am in the morning. But The Cure’s music does fit in well to the atmosphere of Halloween and October Autumn. It’s the gothic flavor to the Cure
I only wish that some of the other band members could sing harmonies on the key lines, I guess Robert Smith sang them as overdubs on the original - such an incredible talent
The members in this performance are- Robert Smith, the lefty Perry Bamonte (guitar), Roger O’ Donnel (keys), Simon Gallup (bass) and Jason Cooper (drums)….
I’m playing this song at my mums funeral next week. This was one of her favourite songs. She loved The Cure and I grew up listening to them with my mum. This song always takes me back to happier times spent with my mum and dad 🖤
I always associate this song with a girl I had a brief but intense romantic relationship with who died tragically when she was only 20. listening to this just now got me choked up when I thought of her.
sounds better than it does on Songs of a Lost World tour, i just don't like how Reeves performs the lead guitar, but Perry nails it as well as Porl used to.
The best live performance of this timeless song from my youth. I remember listening to it on summer 1988 in a taxi-brousse while driving to the west coast of Madagascar, admiring a magical sunset. I miss the 80s 🥲
I was in high school in the 00s, but this song is such a huge staple of my time their. Kids, dont just listen to modern music. There is just SO MUCH you miss out on with that mentality. Music is a gift, take as much as it'll give you.
Show me, show me, show me how you do that trick The one that makes me scream, she said The one that makes me laugh, she said And threw her arms around my neck Show me how you do it And I promise you, I promise that I'll run away with you I'll run away with you Spinning on that dizzy edge I kissed her face, I kissed her head And dreamed of all the different ways I had to make her glow Why are you so far away, she said Why won't you ever know That I'm in love with you That I'm in love with you? You, soft and only You, lost and lonely You, strange as angels Dancing in the deepest oceans Twisting in the water You're just like a dream Just like I have a dream Daylight whipped me into shape I must have been asleep for days And moving lips to breathe her name I open up my eyes I find myself alone, alone, alone Above a raging sea That stole the only girl I loved And drowned her deep inside of me You, soft and only You, lost and lonely You, just like heaven
The entire performance that night was amazing! They played my all time favorite live version of Mint Car in this show, so clean and perfect... and those cases in the back with the “cure” wish logo are sooo badass. I remember when they aired this live on MTV and I was so happy for their return.
The Cure, an accumulation of all that was right, the possibilities. The youth of knowing anything was possible, even when showing vulnerable, showing weakness. The Cure will always rep that yung rebel
This song is a complete masterpiece. This sounds amazing with some good ear buds. All the instruments come together brilliantly. One of my top 5 fave songs for sure.
Beauty cannot behold perfection. Love and life cannot suffer hate and despair. But for one brief moment Robert brings us to the brink of purpose, sound, and vision. And in that moment we are everything. Robert Smith's voice is what existence strives for. I love you Robert. 😍😍😍

Yes, sooo true, his voice is still the same, unbelivable 💕
One of the greatest songs ever written.
Des plus belles surtout.
you can always spot talent when the live version is just as good as the studio version!

I rank The Cure as one of the top 5 bands of all time, saw them live years ago at an outdoor amphitheater during summer and they played majestically
Is it me or is the mix just about perfect? You can clearly hear each instrument.
It ain’t just you. The acoustic 12 string is ALWAYS buried in live mixes. But on this one it’s perfect!

the cure is not a band, it's a feeling.
It’s a cure
No it’s a band
Emotional
The Cure is an entire vibe 🖤
Love The Cure more than words can express. It's a feeling just like a dream.
John Green I get it
It is a dream now. A dream of the past.
its just like a dream.
Listening to the cure the morning after Halloween. Cup of coffee in hand. It's a perfect autumn morning.
It’s February 2021 7am and I’ve a coffee in hand too ☕️ Coffee and the Cure perfect for this wretched lockdown...
Halloween this year coming up - morning coffee and still dark out - what joy

When i'm 17 yrs old
I addicted by yhis song
I'm turn to 53 but i still love this bright sounds😊
I'm 60. My GF is 58
It's our special song
How on earth could someone dislike this? Probably the best pop song of all time. What amazing live vocals!
Leave it to the communists...

Pop song?
100% agree
The synths, the vocals, the lyrics, the drums, the guitars... just like a dream indeed.

That's beautiful, she sounds like she was wonderful 💎
So sorry for your loss. Your mom sounds so amazing ♥♥♥
This song reminds me of my soulmate who recently passed away due to a heart transplant at the tender age of 31 she was definitely my dream
May she be dancing in heaven
Rest in peace. Be strong.
My heartfelt condolences ❤and prayers on your loss. The Cure’s music and lyrics have a certain melancholy yearning for Love and connections.

the fact that years and years have gone by and he still sounds the same is absolutely fkn insane and its beautiful

That must have been a magical time
Ah yes, Madagascar. I drove through there too. A lemur stole my wallet and a wild boar got in my bathtub and farted bubbles.
Yeaaah
Yep
Thanks for your SONG
GOD bless everyone
Barakallah fiikum 😂😂❤❤❤❤
This song is in my opinion, the greatest LIVE rendition, so flawless, smooth as Royal jelly, and petrify incredibly great. I love it-nonpareil!
The Cure,The Smiths,Depeche Mode,R.E.M.,Pixies,Sonic Youth defined my adolescence
Perfect pop song without the intention of being one 😊
Just saw him last week and he still sounds the same 🙂
I can’t get enough of you, Millie
This is a real band, no auto tune.. real music by the best band to ever exsist. Teens now a days don't know what good music is.
this is one of the best live performance of this song, isn't it? the lead guitar have enough volume and the others' are sweetly tuned
I need more guitar with that sweet Boss CE-2 Chorus sound
I agree! I like this live performance better than the original. Good sound quality too. 👍

Why won't you ever know
That I'm in love with you
That I'm in love with you?
You, soft and only
You, lost and lonely
You, strange as angels
Dancing in the deepest oceans
Twisting in the water
You're just like a dream
Just like I have a dream
Daylight whipped me into shape
I must have been asleep for days
And moving lips to breathe her name
I open up my eyes
I find myself alone, alone, alone
Above a raging sea
That stole the only girl I loved
And drowned her deep inside of me
You, soft and only
You, lost and lonely
You, just like heaven

That voice. Iconic.perfect.
Bad ass riff, bass line is cool too 😎😎
What a perfect song. It wasn’t so much that the Cure went mainstream with this in 1988, just that it was so good the mainstream took notice.
