Fun fact: Donnie Yen relied on a combination of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Boxing, Kickboxing, Karate, Judo, and Wrestling all while utilizing Wing Chun for the action choreography in this film, and has stated that Bruce Lee's Jeet Kune Do is similar to that of MMA, hence the use of multiple martial arts styles was necessary for the film.
The movie is called "Legend of the Fist: The Return of Chen Zhen" not "Fist of the Legend" as you have it in the title. Also, it's not a sequel to the Fist of Fury remake starring Jet Li (Fist of Legend). It's actually meant more as a sequel to the Donnie Yen TV series back in the 90s that was based on the movie starring Bruce Lee. It might seem like it's splitting hairs but there are key differences in Fist of Legend that clash with Legend of the Fist making it a sequel to Fist of Legend impossible. Some people repeat this falsehood because the director of Fist of Legend was one of the writers and one of the producers of Legend of the Fist with Donnie Yen but that's where the overlap ends. Legend of the Fist has specific details and flashbacks that connect it with Bruce Lee's movie and Donnie Yen's TV series that don't connect with Jet Li's movie.
The Japanese General he fights in the second video is named Ryu Kohata. He's actually sort of popular, and I know him from the HIGH&LOW franchise. He's pretty beast.
Let me tell u somethin ,my man!Donnie got a new action movie coming soon at 2021 July! That will be sick 🔥Donnie said that movie is the greatest action movie of himself!U can search the trailer and do the reacts!I am F......king excited for this,Love donnie love hongkong movie !That movie name is “Raging fire ” Can’t wait!
@@BurridgeMartialArts604 He is not playing Bruce Lee he is playing Chen Zin or however you say it it was the same character in Fist of Fury with Bruce and Fist of Legend with Jet Li.
7:54-7:55...Donnie feints a high kick to deliver a low side kick. Did that quite a lot during my TKD days after watching this video, it worked quite a lot of times.
Myself I love what Donnie's character did he was losing the fight do to the wide open space. So after getting kicked down the stairs he takes his top off and throws it to the ground making his opponent think he is frustrated and making mistakes. When really Donnie knows I have to close the quarters which he does beautifully. Once in the narrow hallway he throws a flurry of punchs to back his opponent into a wall and then goes to town on the guy.
Just in case you didnt watch the film. Basically the Japanese were very cruel to Donnie Yen's compatriots by committing inhumane acts like rape and arson! So there was a part where Donnie's very good friend's dead body was bought in front of him and that Japanese officer basically just piss out at him in front of his dead friend
@@BurridgeMartialArts604 I know I may sound super bias on it but Donnie Yen's one is the most emotional of them all. Bruce Lee is the most classic of them all(obviously) while Jet Li's one is more focused on the martial arts choreography.
I think the thing with Bruce Lee particularly is that he died pretty much at the height of his fame, yet it was his sudden death that lead to everyone trying to find the next "Bruce Lee super star" that I feel gave a real kick in quality of the martial arts movies at the time. While Donnie Yen has had like 15/20 years over Bruce Lee as an actor, really makes me wonder sometimes what his legacy would've been if he hadn't have died so young.
The guy in the last fight wasn't still on his feet when he was getting rocked against the wall, he was falling and still getting hit a hundred miles a hour before he hits the ground. Lol 😆
In the moments leading up to this fight, they killed some lady who I think was close to Donnie Yen's character. Havent seen the movie in awhile so I can't remember who she was
i love that donnie loves and respects his heritage even when he plays as ipman bruce lees master talking to a young bruce "you want to find the ultimate art, whereas i want to learn chinese kungfu and the spirit/cultivation it promotes" its sad the west promotes racism that even other ethnics pickup. I remember old youtube allowed us to see country of original of youtube profiles and some indian guy left a comment on a ipman youtube vid saying it was chinese propaganda. How is chinese dying in a REAL world war with the japanese propaganda??
This was amazing and I grew up with the Jet Li version and this one is still great. Please check out Jet Li’s Fearless final tournament wrestling scene: ruclips.net/video/AhkVC8bRJJs/видео.html
1.30 minute : The Japanese army officer killed his best friend and raped the dead guy's sister so Chen Zhen ( Donnie Yen ) gave him "special attention."
Yeah, too many close ups and shaky cams. Hard to see what is happening which is a cardinal sin for a martial arts movie. Whats the point of having skilled martial artists and carefully crafted coreography when over half of it is lost to the ADHD camera shots.
I don't actually like this that much. There's so many cuts it should come with a seizure warning at times, which is a fine pity as I usually like this kind of thing.
Donnie Yen is an awesome martial artist but he isn't that great of an actor as Bruce was tbh, Donnie always plays the same character, you know, the silent Chinese Nationalist in a world of anti Chinese hate for script reasons
Most martial arts films are about the oppression caused by the japanese. Not just specifically donnie yen so thats a false statement. I grew up on martial arts films and like 80 percent are about that specific part of their history

Donnie Yen is a complete martial artist he train all style of fighting.
Bruce Lee, Jet Li, and Donnie Yen. Anyone who depicts the character Chen Zhen in martial arts movies is always the best of the best.
Chen Zhen is the best on screen fighter ever
It is nice to hear a real, honest comment from a true martial arts instructor.

Wow
@@dammianreyes9342 all of that just for a wow...
There is a fight scene in the first part of the movie where donnie yen does parkour during a war against german👍
"How is he still standing?"
"Because gravity takes time for someone to flop to the floor."
Look the final fight of flashpoint, is one of his best fight scene in my opinion
Just checked it out! Amazing!
I understand he was 45 years old when he made this.
47 not 45

Idk you, but if that’s legit you’re a f*cking legend!
This movie has fantastic fight scenes. One of them has Cheng wearing a Kato-like outfit, and fighting several guys in a street.
Donnie has a bunch of mma style fight scenes. Recommend checking out Flashpoint
Just did! Make sure to go check it out!

That's correct. The woman was actually a spy for the Japanese who defected to the Chinese.
Also, he raped the character's sister in an earlier scene, and the guy bragged about it after killing the spy.

I think the bad guy had a concussion way before the last hit as he was falling, he was out on his feet maybe 4 hits before the final hit.
Watching it again 10 months after😅
Best fighter in the world
Can you take a look at The Confidential Assignment 2: International?
you should also do a reaction to the lost blademan by donnie yen..so far i dont see a reaction video for that on youtube

The first guy he beats down assaulted Donnie's sister in the film so that beatdown was rightfully justified. This whole movie is bad ass....
Donnie Yen's last fight in Kung Fu Killer.
It’s a jump spinning back kick not a jump turning side kick.
Next Jackie Chan's Drunken Master 2 hotel fight
ass whooping of a lifetime 😂
so its a remake of a remake
1.30 minute : The Japanese army officer killed his best friend and raped the dead guy's sister so Chen Zhen ( Donnie Yen ) gave him "special attention."
It would be awesome if you put the movie on the big screen instead of your face ,the fights are hard to see because of that
I have started doing that in my recent Videos now after a few people gave me the same advice!
React to Jackie Chan's Drunken Master 2(Full Movie)
I've been trying to find a good quality video to do from that movie but I think I found one this morning so should have it up in a couple days!
please do react to IP man vs 10 Black belts (IP man 1)
