I just wanted to tell you that I also struggle with negative self talk at times. One day I was sitting with my daughters and I asked if there's anything that I do as a mom that they'd like for me to change. Both of my daughters said they'd like me to stop saying mean things to myself or about myself. They said it makes them feel bad about themselves! Wow!!! What a wake-up call. I still do it but it's much less. I'm not saying this is your situation but our kids, especially our daughters, are listening! I'm also hair obsessed so I totally understand.. PS. Olivia has the most tender heart! You can see her love and empathy for you.
I have become disabled in the last 8 years and deal with severe chronic pain 24/7. As a result, I am often frustrated with my situation and my limitations as well as how much weight I've gained from being so sedentary. I have said many-a-thing out loud and when I asked my daughter one day why she was so upset, she told me the same thing your daughters told you. She doesn't like to hear how much I hate this or that about myself because it makes her sad and look at herself differently. It is true... our daughters are listening and what we say about ourselves does impact them. I had no idea my daughter was so upset by my frustration and self-esteem issues that I now fight with. Bonnie, you are a beautiful woman inside and out. I know you love Olivia - she is perfect as she is - so perhaps just be aware of what you are saying about yourself in her presence. I hope you told the person who did it their mistake so they learn from it I always say something. This is why before I ever perform any service on my clients, I ask a ton of questions so I know we’re on the same page whether it’s a cut, color or just a style. Some people have a difficult time explaining exactly what they want and sometimes what we stylists envision differs from the clients vision. Once a client came in with shoulder length hair and said she wanted a pixie cut. From listening to her describe it, I knew she didn’t know what a pixie cut really was. Thank God I showed her a picture first !! Turned out she actually wanted a shorter A-line cut. HUGE difference from a pixie! Style books are a super helpful tool for this very reason. Plus, a good colorist should always apply one shade lighter than the actual desired color to avoid hair pulling too dark.

I totally had that happen with my hair. I went back the next day and had them fix it. It was terrible, i had chunks of my natural hair color not dyed and it was a lot lighter color than I asked for. I was pissed to say the least and not to mention 2 of my shirts got ruined. I 100% feel you on being upset over your hair.

Bonnie - I did the same exact thing with my hair a couple of years ago and just put up with it because I didn't know how to lighten it!! My hairdresser put 4 different lots of highlights in and eventually the dark dye lifted

I am a hair person! I have cried leaving a salon before! So frustrating! I usually go dark brown and it will lighten up after a couple washes. But I get it! ❤️💜

Bonnie - I did the same exact thing with my hair a couple of years ago and just put up with it because I didn't know how to lighten it!! My hairdresser put 4 different lots of highlights in and eventually the dark dye lifted
