  • Charted at #10 on Billboard Best Selling Pop Singles chart in August 1950. Hugo had one of the most beautiful orchestra and choruses of the time, and this recording provides a good example. Released as the B-side of "The Flying Dutchman", but "Count Every Star" was the hit. Other versions of this song to chart in 1950 include: #4 for Ray Anthony and His Orchestra and #10 for Dick Haymes and Artie Shaw. Later charting remakes: #73 for The Rivieras in 1958, #35 for Donnie and the Dreamers in 1961 and #41 Billboard Hot 100 (#10 Adult Contemporary) for Linda Scott in 1962.
This recording was later included on the 1956 LP in the photo.
Written by Sammy Gallop and Bruno Coquatrix.

Heard this song on the radio in the early eighties and I still think it’s one of the most beautiful songs ever.
