Back in 85, that thing was king of the Autobahns. The 635CSI should be worth quite a few bucks these days if they haven't been dicked around.
Really enjoyed the detail of your content on your Six. Look forward to seeing more episodes as I’m a long term owner of a M635CSi in the UK. I have to say you’re very brave getting under a car sitting on wooden crates rather than axle stands.
I enjoyed this so much I subscribed. Looking forward to your progress.
Enjoy the video, especially clear and detail descriptions of your 635.
awesome vids !!keep em coming!!!
Loving that! At least you don't seem to have any rust, which is not a given on those cars. The rest should be pretty straightforward to fix and is basically the to-do list on each and every BMW from this era. Parts are quite available for those cars, either from BMW or some alternate sources in Europe. Will be watching what is coming next :-)
Great work 🙂 Regards from Germany, Ralph
That sticker on the back on the right side behind the number plate is the bear of Berlin. The car at some point was registered in Berlin, I'd guess.
750i bushings fit fine.
The last part was super funny. ......SUbbed
Ahh even the more expensive E24 examples available, like £25,000, have missing trim on the body and faded plastic interiors that need a total rebuild and new leather. In the UK most are rust buckets with years of cheap weld jobs and the German ones are not much better! At least they are straightforward unlike modern cars with all the sensors and codes.
Those stands you used for the car are awesome. Are they made from 2x4s or something?
i love you abie
Hey when u replace parts where do buy them from?
Gosh. Don't pull ignition wires like that )
If your finger is close enough, it will go through you.
Engine off/disconnect wire/start.
Or use some isolated pliers.
When it shocks, you can feel it!
Lmao, what happend to that end link!?! 😯
Very nice car madam! Watching this makes me furious I sold mine. I had an ‘88 the same color with black interior. Unfortunately for me I was too young to appreciate and afford what this car is, which is a masterpiece. Do you have the refrigerator in the backseat armrest?
Thank you very much. And no, no refrigerator in this one. It’s the lightweight BMW land barge.
Oil or power steering? You know it's both. It's always both.
Those are actually the 2 main ingredients in a BMW Old Fashioned
Definitely don't go above 16" on the wheels. 15" if you can (larger wheels = rougher ride). There are plenty of basket weave BBS wheels available in 15 and 16. I myself recently had a set of one piece BBA RA's pulled from my 500 SEC to be straightened. It can be tough finding a shop that can properly handle older wheels. I ended up driving 8 hours to Delaware for mine to be handled!
Oh absolutely. I’m picky about wheel and tire fitment. Not a fan of large wheels, and 16” is my absolute max.
This is a classic car and I mean to keep it styled that way.
@@mariemotors It's quite abnormal to hear such logic! Thank God you are being logical. Good luck with this project. I'll be watching the entire way.
Glad to see your common sense approach to the various issues. I have been around my e24 for over 20 years and solved many problems with that approach. These are great vehicles, designed well, and still are ahead of their time in many ways.
From the sound, (just casual observation) it seems you might have cam, valve train issues? Hopefully, just
Valve adjustment and tightening of the oiler tubes? Mine has over 400k and still runs smoothly. Maintaining is critical.
Anyway, keep up the good work and enjoy the beautiful e24 you have there!
do you insta? id love to follow if you're posting more about this project. Also would love to know how much you bought this for. I'm looking into one and curious to know what i should look to spend
Hi, I do. @mariemotors on IG
You’re trusting those wooden blocks omg no way
They are VERY stout and I’ve seen similar ones used for heavy machinery. They’re more than adequate for my purposes.
First of all I would remove the ugly lights red and amber at the sides.
Oh those are being removed the SECOND I start on bodywork.
Terrible knocking, sounds a beautiful diesel
I was nervous seeing you pull plug wires with your fingers and waiting for you getting a jolt. Please buy some plastic plug lead pliers!
hahahahaha all fixed!
Sure you didn't accidentally buy the diesel version? Yikes...
