- The Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit has wrapped up in Kazakhstan’s capital, Astana.
Chinese President Xi Jinping was among leaders attending the event and he addressed the gathering on Thursday. The SCO summit provided a platform to promote diplomacy and cooperation.

BRICS does not represent a shifting of power paradigm , its represent an alternative paradigm for developments. The interest is on Economic & social developments of global communities. Never BRICS discusses or concentrates on powers or militarization or dissociation with anyone.
It is just another avenue & a compliment to global Economic developments.
Having more then one alternative is always better then only one. It applies to everyone in their daily life. It just like Monopoly vs Ogligopoly vs Free enterprice.
Very true to its roots since the first summit held in 2006.
It is all about defending the interests of developing and emerging economies.
SCO and BRICS on the rise
The 2024 Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit, being held in Astana, Kazakhstan is set to address a range of significant issues impacting its member states and the broader region.
President Xi Jiping meets President Putin in Astana, urging conservation of unique value in bilateral cooperation.
The frequent interactions between the leaders of the two major countries, against the backdrop of the current complex international landscape, are crucial for promoting peace and stability, while playing a guiding role in driving development in the Eurasian region.
China and Russia is crucial for maintaining regional stability and peace, as well as setting the direction for advancing regional development.
Practical cooperation, especially how to eliminate Western pressure and resistance, to better promote the steady development of trade exchanges.
This includes specific areas such as energy, cross-border transportation and new-energy sectors. Additionally, the two leaders may also discuss the construction of a new natural gas pipeline project between China and Russia, as well as the deepening of cooperation in Central Asia.
While the gathering of developing countries in Kazakhstan is focusing on promoting joint development, Western media is sparing no effort to smear this partnership in an attempt to create divisions.
Now the Western media is using innuendo and are pushing the sinister narrative that Russia and China transform the grouping SCO from a regional security bloc into a geopolitical counterweight to Western institutions led by the US.
Against the backdrop of growing geopolitical tensions, rampant US decoupling pushes that are fragmenting the world, and the West's attempts to sow discord among the cooperation framework, SCO summit that will help to build a more "cohesive, influential" regional community that overcomes geopolitical rivalries and promotes mutual trust.
China attaches great importance to neighborhood diplomacy and is set to inject new impetus into the relationship between China and Central Asia, where all five countries are China's strategic partners.
The bilateral and regional cooperation between China and Central Asia to reach deeper and broader areas, such as on the construction of more logistics corridors that could further promote regional integration and development.
The SCO summit is particularly apt given the drastic changes in the international situation and the stepped-up containment and bloc confrontation instigated by the West.
The SCO summit's significance in demonstrating unity among member states and inspiring new collective approaches to deal with emerging challenges and conflicts.

Imagine India is a member of SCO but as the Prime Minister of India he is not attending this summit. He sent his foreign minister instead. But he obeyed his western masters order and attended the G7 summit and India is not a G7 member.
Seriously think of this, India should be kicked out of BRICS and SCO. You can't trust someone like this to be a member in your group.

It is in China & India's Interest to work together harmoniously both will greatly benefit.

Belarus membership is very significant in term of first security and economic development. Belarus now can now breathe easy with Eu and Us sanctions.
Not the last. There are also other regional blocs and the likes of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) as alternatives
if the united states was smart they would engage on trade with these economic projects. when trump canned tpp it was a bad mistake. isolation & decoupling leads to lower living standards for the population & don't get me started on the topic of de-dollarization
