Hey @Cyneward, I got a fun one for ya: Su-metal covers 2 very special songs while on support tour with a special guest on the drums, and an epic and wholesome ending that just makes you smile. Title will probably give it away: ruclips.net/video/ex1-H4rZ5eo/видео.htmlsi=8zcIY7Xo8pO8baHR If you don’t end up reacting to this, at least watch it on your own!
Welcome back and great reaction. Most of us saw a fancam of the live debut a couple of days ago and listened to the audio release yesterday - the MV adds a load to it. You just know the live performances of this will be completely wild and the crowd will go nuts! 🤘🤪🤘
Sidenote: in an interview Momo said this is the first time she attempted that classic japanese dialect sound! It's a metal anthem indeed! Love that Babymetal constantly hooks up with GenX Rock royalty! I was lucky enough to see the original Three with Red Hot chili peppers! Thank you Fox Gods for another metal anthem! KITSUNE UP! 🦊🤘
Great reaction, thanks! I'm mind-blown since I listened to the song yesterday. And watching the music video today is driving me crazy to the point I'm not able to think clearly. 😁 This song is a blast and I can't wait to experience it live. Also very happy for Momometal since this is her first song and music video as an official member. Not to mention her special feature on that kabuki style speech. 😊 Until next time! 🤘🦊
This song was MADE for crowd participation and flash mobs lol. Sooooo much energy. I can see the girls having the best time of their lives performing this. Smiling every second of it too. I can't wait to see this LIVE. I got a taste of it from a leaked video and it was wild. Momometal even added a growl after the spoken parts. And it was confirmed by Flugelhornoldman who was THERE, that is was Momometal growling the words "Are you ready?!" 🤘🦊🤘 Wow, these girls have been busy with the new album and giving us this early gift as well. ❤❤
I dont think this is going to be one of my favorite songs by them, but I agree it would be a blast to see it performed live. I'm hoping they play it when I see them next month!
I love how this video have so many references to many of ther earlier videos, mainy Megitsune but also many others including Headbanger and BxMxC. There will be long and interesting discussions in various forums about his video.
_Wasshoi wasshoi!_ We got another banger for Japanese festival or any festival around, can't wait for this to be played at Summer Sonic tomorrow, then Aftershock or Louder Than Life and see the crowd. It's their first song released with this new BM reborn and formation. Some of us already heard this yesterday because they premiere this at Apocrypha - Another One show, and someone leaked this on a fancam, it's all good, it was a blast and really unexpected but everyone was having a blast and even started with a Kami Band solo after a while without it. Just so you know "wasshoi" is another shout used in Japanese festival when carry the shrines, similar to sore and soya you heard in Megitsune. I can totally see why they pick Tom Morello on this, the groove, the catchiness, the super energetic jump and those typical 90's vibes at funk or alternative metal live concerts. The spoken part sounding like oba-chan could be MomoMetal, she's not moving her lips in the clip if you pay attention, fans are having a debate about it but she did have a spotlight when performing this and she screamed "Are you ready?!!" when performing live, thou again the spoken part sounds pre recorded and not live. Always glad to see you around Cyneward.🦊🤘🎸
yeaaaah!!! i love this song!! btw momometal used to play in musicals. so i'm actually sure that it really is momo who performs this traditional japanese singing part.
That song was made for crowd participation and I can’t wait to see and experience it live. It is so great to see how much fun the girls had recording this mv and yes, I do firmly believe it is Momometal doing the spoken part ❤🤘🦊🔥
me too. honestly it reminded me of Jack Black's style of high notes (and several metal vocalists actually) with falsetto and vibrato. of course Su doesn't seem to need to do falsetto, her voice is enough for that.
Kickass collaboration! RATM has been setting the standards for years. What an interesting combo. This is something that should have been on this last album. Maybe there is more coming from other artists collaboration with BM? That would be rad. Hope all Is well, my friend. Cheers from NorCal - Eric
I really, really love this song. BABYMETAL is back, with fun and energy fueled metal. (but I don't think that Tom adds anything to the song, apart from his name...and that's good)
Yeah, give Momoko 5 seconds and she will blow you away haha. This song feels as if they gave 106% (normally they give 105%). They are totally unleashed here and it looks as if they had super fun doin this (though they are in fact very good actresses, so it's hard to say). What makes a really awesome singer like Su is, even if you know her voice in and out, she continues to amaze you. A quality that only the best singers have, like John Farnham, Freddy Mercury, Sia etc etc. Maybe go back in time and watch some Momoko Okazaki clips like her "Funny Moments" videos. Shes always funny and laughing. Worth a look for sure. Greets from Germany. Enjoy!
And here's why Japan will never be invited to Eurovision, lol. 😂 Even by Babymetal's high standards, this is off the planet. Jaw droppingly good. I saw them in Sydney a couple of months back, if they had played this the crowd would have gone nuts. Great reaction, subscribed. btw, have you seen Lovebites new live tracks from their revival concert blu ray, which comes out next week? Try Hammer of Wrath, on their YT site, it's a banger.
I'll be honest, when I first heard the song yesterday, I was anything but sure what to make of it. I may have gone in with false expectations after the TOO album. But already the second time, it was already a completely different story. Until now, this song has worked its way damn far to the front of my non-existent favorites list. And the video of course also contributes its part. From the 'in your face' factor, both the song and especially the video has quite a few Megitsune vibes, doesn't it? And now you can guess once which song is my personal #1 (so far?). :) Greetings to both of you. It was fun as always. 🦊🤘🏻 _____________________ _"Sometimes we laugh because we're sad or to hide our frustration"_ - from *Gacharic Spin* -「 I Wish I 」 🎶✨
Nice reactin!! You enjoy BM a lot! If this song is played live or at festivals, it smells dangerous. It was the same with megitsune, when a song has a lot of Japanese culture in it, it is difficult to explain. Read only if you are interested, as the content may be a little removed from the song itself. METALI is a word that adds METAL and 祭り(Matsuri=festival). And this song is a representation of a Japanese 夏祭り(Natsu Matsuri=summer festival). For us Japanese, these sound and lyrics make our Matsuri blood boil. Matsuri is the heart of the Japanese people. It is said that there are a total of 300,000 festivals in Japan, both large and small. Matsuri means a ritual for worshiping Gods or Buddha, or an event held in gratitude towards nature. 神輿(Mikoshi=portable shrine) is a carriage for Gods. In the festival, Japanese people get around the Mikoshi and carry it on their shoulders in order to worship Gods. While carrying the Mikoshi, the carriers will yell "Wasshoi, Wasshoi" or "Soiya, Soiya" or "Sore, Sore".(However, the calls vary considerably from region to region.) 神輿(Mikoshi=portable shrine) and お囃子(Ohayashi=festival music) of Matsuri have a history of more than 1,000 years and are etched in the DNA of the Japanese people. 赤子(akago) is baby, 金属(kinzoku) is metal. The instrument used in the intro is the 三味線(shamisen), a three-line string instrument. "Pii hyara" in the lyrics is the sound of a 篠笛(Shino bue=transverse flute) used at Matsuri. "Dokkoisho" is the voice used when lifting heavy objects. The choreography when saying "dokkoisho" is the pose of carrying a heavy object on the shoulder. The choreography when saying "Wasshoi" is a pose for carrying a Mikoshi(portable shrine). MOMOMETAL speaks in the middle, that is 歌舞伎(kabuki) speaking. MOMOMETAL's odd pose is the Kabuki climactic pose. The lyrics "Odorin chai" and "Utain chai" are in the dialect of SU-METAL's birthplace, Hiroshima. In standard language, the words are "Odori nasai" and "Utai nasai", meaning "you should dance" and "you should sing". The lines said by MOMOMETAL come from the 阿波おどり(Awa Odori), a traditional Japanese dance. Originally by. 踊る阿呆に(Odoru Ahoo ni)、見る阿呆(Miru Ahoo)、同じ阿呆なら(Onaji Ahonara)踊らにゃ損損(Odoranya son son)! (The dancers are fools, the watchers are fools. Both are fools alike so, why not dance?) ※踊る(odoru=dance),阿呆(ahoo=fool),見る(miru=view) The funny-looking masks with their mouths agape are ひょっとこ(hyottoko). If you are interested in Mikoshi, musical performances, etc., please search youtube for these characters and watch the videos. When the Japanese see this, our blood starts to boil.
