- Hello! Hope you're having a wonderful and cozy Spring day so far! In this art vlog, I spent the day at home drawing and watercolor painting my third urban sketching. A Japanese tea shop storefront. This shop is the oldest tea shop in Japan. We went there a few years ago and I loved the shop a lot! I really enjoying making these art vlogs, learning and having fun. Thank you very much for watching! I'm a floral designer and have studied ikebana for over 14 years. Besides that, I've only learned art and sewing throughout high school. 😅 I wish I learned pottery and photography in school. I don't have any pets right now but I really want to adopt a cat! Hopefully that dream can come true soon! 🐈

Amazing to think buildings can be that old! The painting turned out beautifully and I think the dark brown makes the building show up more so I liked the darker colour. I also like the Micron Fineliners.

Calming n soothing video...esp i like small details like setting table for coloring.... arranging brushes ....these things give small sense of accomplishment......keep growing n keep enjoying life....❤😊

The wonderful thing about watercolors is, it is much more forgiving than people think it is. If you make something too dark, if you wet it with clean water, let it sit a few moments, then use a clean sponge or cloth carefully, or even just a freshly wiped off brush for delicate areas to dab at the wet paint so it wicks back into the brush, you can often times lift the color up off the paper. The results can depend upon the type of paper you use, but you are using a high quality paper so it should let you do this easily with little staining or destruction to the paper itself. Just gentile dabbing, if you rub too much you could ruff up the paper and cause pilling or damage that will absorb the paint more. I'll use this technique often when I want to bring back highlights or correct bleeding.

Love how the piece turned out! A little tip for the future- if you think the ground is too dark, try going over the area with clean water and lifting some of the paint with a paper towel! It’s one of the nice qualities of watercolor. It lifts. That should lighten it, regardless though, loved the video and the end result! Well done 😊
