Puck being able to travel through the Stargate system because of his nanites could be him using the method that the Stargate's use to communicate between each other for updates as a way to enhance how far his teleportation technology will go.
i love that you bring up the language barrier, or lack there of, lol, it's obviously not star trek where they have that universal translator tech, but i could see something like that existing in the show, but my guess is this was retconned because it was easier to understand the story if everyone spoke English. they may have made a few episodes that catered to the non English speaking alien's, but they were rare.
I just pretend that the galaxy at large that they visit simply speaks some form of goa'uld creole which they can understand from having to learn the goa'uld language.
@@Giomancer that's probably accurate, but given that it's a science fiction show they very well could have invented a way for some kind of automatic translator to exist, but i believe your right, story time realistically is easier when just making everyone speak the same lingo. i mean the tech wasn't that complicated given some of the other tech they decided to use, that memory machine that allowed people to relive your life experiences, then there was that other tech that allowed people to experience training in a virtual reality that Teal'c got stuck in. the one i thought was most interesting was the one that ran onboard the destiny, it wasn't a program that would give you the knowledge, it was meant for the user to come to the solution on their own, but the program would run while you slept so the mind could learn how to accomplish things while your body slept, it was a very interesting program, it's too bad they turned that tech off and never used it again, i could have seen rush make use of using that tech when he first came aboard the destiny, he was trying to stay awake to solve problems, but because he was suffering from withdrawal due to not getting his fix of coffee, he was becoming quite irritable to everyone else onboard. he did end up using another program on the destiny that allowed him to problem solve, but this program worked while being plugged into the chair and the chair was dangerous to use in this way, because the chair if i recall didn't tell the user to leave due to hunger or thirst and it could have very well killed him if he stayed using it for too long. every time it comes to Alteran tech, we always somehow either abused it or we didn't fully understand it's use or we always ended up destroying it somehow, like when Rodney blew up an entire solar system when powering up that Atlantean ZPM recharging device.
The terraforming idea is interesting. The area around the Stargate where the Sto'lo live is like a giant alien wildlife reserve to the Neraida. Maybe that's what it is like on many planets; the Terran wildlife only exists up to a certain point until and then you hit the native part of the world.

SG-2 4's hard drive: "my death was greatly exaggerated" Happy to see you got around the copyright issues and technical problems after you made that community post a while back
Oh the hard drive is still dead. I sent it in and they said they couldn’t fix it. So all that stuff is just gone. I just had a copy up on the channel in posted which I use in remaking this. Hopefully the new background it’s to much of a distraction.
If their clarktech is largely based on the pocket dimension, this explains a lot. They don't age because they live mostly in said dimension. The illusions are cast from this dimension that for all we know, they are native to. This would make the planet a secondary dimension for them. They don't actually shift shape directly, it's all cast from the pocket dimension, which is impressive given the time moves so much slower there
It’s not stated they are from this pocket dimension. If so I assume they would know about the time dilation thing, but how you described it I kind of want them to be.
@@sg-24 it would be really interesting if all the species who naturally developed this tech only did so because they were from such a pocket dimension. I was thinking about it, but since you mentioned that they probably came from an aquatic species, then it could be a natural ability for them to shapeshift. Consider the humble cuttlefish with it's amazing ability to change colors and even shape to an extent. They have an incredible network of muscular tissue in their skin that allows them to control the shape of sacs of color and they've even been shown to be capable of imitating random trash thrown into the ocean complete with legible writing. They've also imitated fish with weird spiky bits all over to ward off predators that might have wanted to eat them. There are also a few species of octopi that can perform similar feats. Kind of makes you wonder what's going on under those robes.
I used to think they were the furlings but the producer of the show mentioned in some interview that the furlings were never appeared on screen. To me, they were more interesting than the Nox but like the Nox they also considered less advanced races as either ants and pets. Humans call dogs friends too. Just saying.
