These films with Chris in are absolutely incredible, he is such an interesting character. Does anyone else feel these show films show everything that is wrong in the modern angling ? Chris is absolutely smitten with just being there, catching or not, he just loves being on the bank. This is truly beautiful.
@@jameshunt5590 not all of us mate, im a barbel angler, and I see what your getting at, me just being downthe river during the different seasons is still magical. sometimes I don't get a rod in the water coz im talking about fishing with like minded anglers or I end up just walking the banks picking up litter I have blanked for a whole season disheartened a few times but still drawn to keep going time and time again because if I could catch just one in that mile of virtually unfished stretch of beautiful unspoiled river I would have found a small piece of heaven on my doorstep.
It's all gone commercial now and you need the gimmicks suck a shame I'll always be old school i only fish autumn winter and spring by myself or with the old man
These guys are somewhat privileged, I mean what lake can you visit these days where you are the only two on a lake. I gave up carp fishing due to angling pressure. And I’m sad about thAt fact 5 years later
Interesting that watching Mr Yates stalk the banks, drink tea and catch nothing is infinitely more entertaining than watching Mr Bowler catch huge carp on his battery of bolt rigs!
I never get tired of watching Chris Yates, he connects me with my own fishing childhood memories in the 70's and in this particular video I spotted his old Abu Garcia reel exactly the same as the one I had. Good fine reel that was too ! :O)
I watched Passion for Angling back in the day, it struck me that Chris is such a wonderfully decent man. Watching Chris got me hooked on centrepins and making my own handmade fishing floats. I love his attitude, it is so calming to watch, all that tea drinking, wonderfully scaled fish and lakes and landscapes to dream of...if you read this Chris.... Hello from North Somerset ..its been a true pleasure to watch your programmes...
You get out of this what you put in... Martin you are very special to have had the opportunity to fish with such a legend as Chris Yates... He is a true gentleman and an advocate for all things great British... Such as Urself x
These two make a great duo. Nice chilled and relaxing to watch with a little comedy haha It's great to see the differences between old and modern tackle. I love the simplicity of Chris's style. The days of going fishing for carp with one rod is long gone. Shame really.
Watching Chris and Martin has transformed my fishing. I don't care if I catch and I do t care about kit. My carping now is a centerpin and carp rod. My mates use 3 rods but don't catch no more/less than I do. And I've learned to just love being there regardless of catching. And I now write too after my sessions to remind me of all the little dramas I'd normally forget. Thankyou for reigniting my passion
Why can't more fishing videos be like this, truly inspiring, such humbleness and kindness to his fellow angler, just enjoying being there rather than filling the lake up with bait.
Chris epitomises the angler that enjoys and prioritises the "process" not solely the end goal, the photo of the capture etc. Too many modern anglers have forgotton to cherish the process.
You’ve hit the nail on the head. There’s far too many Instagram-anglers who are way more concerned with taking pics of their ‘tarty’ set up, their van, their overpriced alarms etc.... it’s sad to see.
Sublime! A class film. No one sets atmosphere quite like Yates unique style. Add exquisite filming and a wonderful, engaging story and you get a bit of pure magic!
The true spirit and joy of fishing , great to watch this. Chris, my fishing hero from when I was a child , is , as always eloquent as ever . Great watch guys
It's a joy watching Chris and Martin fish together, cant wait to get out on the bank and drink tea and eat cake, a fish would be nice also. Time slows down when Chris speaks the world doesn't seem such a hectic place, work and stress seem to drift to the back of my mind 🙂👍
Loving these videos, no product pushing just two old friends fishing at a truly epic place! It’s like a modern day “a passion for angling” cracking cinematography. it’s how carp fishing should be! You can tell Chris is just happy to be there
This is the true essence of carp angling chris your ora is so addictive your the guru of any style of angling and martin your hunting skills surpasses you ,you gentlemen are an inspection for a boy a teen and a grown man bless you both ,,many thanks for sharing 🇬🇧🎣👁❤
Absolutely stunning footage and this video was a pleasure to watch. Thank you for sharing this little part of your life with us, thanks from the other side of the pond😁 Carp fishing is under appreciated fishing here in the States. My pops and I LOVE it though. You have to be a decent angler to catch big carp.... I think that's why it hasn't caught on here😉 and the fight the big carp put up is incomparable
These two together are brilliant Chris Yates is absolutely mesmerising reminds me of being a kid and waiting to watch the next episode a passion for angeling
Lovely to see Mr Yates looking so well and in such fine form. A really enjoyable watch, from the music, the cinematography and the magical words of Mr Yates right down to the beautiful carp caught.
Absolutely enjoyed these films 🎥 really relaxing and exciting same time, love the bond and banter between the two of you. Made me decide by next spring to go onto the float for the search of carp 👍🏽 thank you guys and I hope to see more of you two again. In meantime take care and tight lines 🎣
Great episode, good to see Chris stick to his roots of a laid back stalking approach and still enjoying himself even whilst blanking , just being there was clearly enough for him. Great angling by Martin also and some lovely old carp too
Carp angling now a days is all about getting the big fish and as many as possible but allot of people forget that it’s not all about the biggest is about how it looks how you caught it abd were you caught it from abd enjoying your surroundings 🙂
Love your old school style of fishing i'm in my early 50s and remember simpler times. It ain't the amount or weight of fish you catch but the enjoyment of catching a fish. Just sub to this chan keep up the great work :)
Well how wonderful to come upon this wonderful video. Its many an evening i spent on the this lake , fly fishing for trout . It is a few years ago now , but Chris used to come and dine and have the odd pint of Ale in the Beckford Arms when i used to be the owner. What a gentleman he is and what a beautiful lake , The area and people were and still are just wonderful. A passion for angling was my favourite when on telly.Best regards to you Chris ,
Wow thanks Martin and Chris throughly enjoyed watching this. Chris the words and explanation that you capture in nature's wonders is so inspiring. Martin what a Epic run of stunning carp in such a lovely venue, still love the banter between you both... Brilliant👍
Nice one SB - one of the best angling films in a long time and not a bit of product placement (Martin's clothing aside). Hopefully this will inspire people to pick up some of Chris's books which are in a class of their own. More of the same please.
I really appreciate the art and the great story telling that the cinematographer captures! Who is the person behind the camera? What cameras and lenses are used? Thanks! 🎣🎥👍🏼
Richard Stewart love it! I just got that camera a couple months ago and Sigma Art 14-24 and 24-70 2 weeks ago. Playing with them a lot. Awesome tools!!! Thanks for sharing! 👊🏼👊🏼
This what Sticky baits needed, someone like chris yates, such a spirit, such an ikon. Now im rather watching Stickyy baits videos then any other carp related (usually brand related aswell ) videos. Cheers and hope to see more of mister Yates!
👏🏻👌🏻the ying and yang of martin’s professionalism balanced against mr Yates’ spirituality. Fab music. So much peace and atmosphere🧘🏼♂️, then MB’s adrenaline in the carnage 😂🔥🔥🔥
You’ve got to love these two characters fishing. I have been around Carp Angling a very long time, not quite as long as Chris Yates. Chris is such a genuine guy and he is pleased to see other people catch fish. It is in this Angling that highlights what is wrong with today’s modern scene it’s not just the catching, it’s about being there.
Yes its about the hunt in wild water not put your rod in a dug out hole filled to the top with carp that u paid more than 500euro's for to fish for a weekend🙃
These films with Chris in are absolutely incredible, he is such an interesting character.
Does anyone else feel these show films show everything that is wrong in the modern angling ? Chris is absolutely smitten with just being there, catching or not, he just loves being on the bank.
This is truly beautiful.
Darren you are so right... we have lost the sense of just being happy on the bank and being around nature.
We're all free to follow our own paths!
Some of us have not lost that feeling ;)
Modern anglers have no concept of just being there

The only film to ever make me feel so sad about the current state of carp fishing. A real eye opener to what fishing is all about.
Your spot on. Couldn't have put it better myself. 🎣👍🏻

Chris Yates, world's most inspiring angler.
Interesting that watching Mr Yates stalk the banks, drink tea and catch nothing is infinitely more entertaining than watching Mr Bowler catch huge carp on his battery of bolt rigs!
Whenever I watch Chris and Martin together I find the widest smile start to appear across my face, this is great TV, this is my bread, my soul food.
This man is the epitome of what fishing means.
Thank you Chris.
Great film!!!! It just chilled me out and appreciated how great English lakes are......fantastic! Why hasnt Chris Yates been Knighted yet!
I never get tired of watching Chris Yates, he connects me with my own fishing childhood memories in the 70's and in this particular video I spotted his old Abu Garcia reel exactly the same as the one I had. Good fine reel that was too ! :O)

How can you possibly call Martin Bowler a true gentleman after he was shown torturing fish for footage... Shame on you
These two make a great duo. Nice chilled and relaxing to watch with a little comedy haha It's great to see the differences between old and modern tackle. I love the simplicity of Chris's style. The days of going fishing for carp with one rod is long gone. Shame really.

What a great pairing....the focused professional and the whimsical dreamer

love fishing movies, and mostly movies with chris and martin, perfect combo. awesome setting and nature. lovely movie
I bloody love that man, Chris has the most lovely gentle spirit. Deceptively skilful and humble.
What a combination, Bowler and Yates, I could watch this forever.
back again 😃 is there anything better than Chris and Martin! a JOY

Absolutely stunning film, is there any other human alive who truly embodies the full spirit of fishing more than Mr Yates
This is the most beautiful angling film I have ever seen, pure perfection! :-)
This is the one I wanted Chris is just an amazing person, i’do anything for a morning’s fishing with him
Sublime! A class film. No one sets atmosphere quite like Yates unique style. Add exquisite filming and a wonderful, engaging story and you get a bit of pure magic!
To me this is proper carp fishing! Two great Angler’s. 👍
Chris is such a legend and a real ale drinker proper bloke, great film!
What a beautiful film, it actually bought a tear to my eye...a reminder of the reason we all love fishing...thank you!
I could watch this all day. Thank you so much. Chris is like a hero to me. I have read his words and watched his shows for so many years.
The true spirit and joy of fishing , great to watch this. Chris, my fishing hero from when I was a child , is , as always eloquent as ever . Great watch guys
Poetic filming and commentary, thank you Chris and Martin, absolutely beautiful!
My top 2 angling shows are a passion for angling and catching the impossible. So to see these two fishing together is something special!
Beats all the stupid cackling that you get on tv, so loud the scarecrows up and leave.
Fantastic film 👍
"The Molleys" love it. Only chris yates could add a story like that to a fishing film. Pure class👻👻👻
It's a joy watching Chris and Martin fish together, cant wait to get out on the bank and drink tea and eat cake, a fish would be nice also. Time slows down when Chris speaks the world doesn't seem such a hectic place, work and stress seem to drift to the back of my mind 🙂👍
Epic, shame Chris didn’t catch one, but then he doesn’t need too, you can see his love for just being there. More Chris vids please ☺️
I feel privileged to have watched this
Chris is a belter, makes you realise that fishing is too relax and take everything in.
Loving these videos, no product pushing just two old friends fishing at a truly epic place! It’s like a modern day “a passion for angling” cracking cinematography. it’s how carp fishing should be! You can tell Chris is just happy to be there
Could watch these 2 all day, this is what it’s about
Fantastic film at a splendid place with lovely people. Thankyou.
Simply a brilliant film , and with Chris's narration makes it all the more special , great stuff !
Cracking film, one of my favourite pubs and the lake is outstanding, shame I've been on the 'waiting' list since I was 14, I'm nearly 36 now😂😂😂
It's only been 22yrs😀
Is this fonthill?

Ha! I think that is the first time I've seen Chris with anything 21st century! A Naked Noodle!?
Hope he's been doing well through lockdown.
But he did pick it up from the corner shop on his penny farthing !
I get the sense that lockdown is what he would like anyway as it would be no different for him
The original sweet corn kid. If only I could find lakes like that to fish......
Amazing film love it.
What a truly lovely film. Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
Respect Sticky for making these, they are brilliant, really encapsulate the essence of whats it's all about.
Just pure goosebumps watching this! Absolutely sublime 👌🏼
Great episode, good to see Chris stick to his roots of a laid back stalking approach and still enjoying himself even whilst blanking , just being there was clearly enough for him.

Это лучшее что я видел о рыбалке! Великолепный фильм! Браво! Легенды!
Mesmerising and addicting. Simply magical video.
Beautiful piece of film. This captures everything that counts about our passtime
Every word that comes out of Chris Yates mouth is like it’s written in a great novel. A English man at his Finest
charming from start to finish.
How all anglers should be a true gent , and enjoys the atomasphere even if there is no action , what legend
