Everybody thinks Xion copied Saix abilities. Did you forget that in KH2 you can steal one of Saix weapon to beat him up with it ? I always thought it was a clever way to make her a pain.
Dark Riku is one of these fights in video game where the first time you're like "How the fuck do I fight this fucker ?" over time tough I realise he is actually pretty consistant in his pattern and there's even some funny tech of using his mine explosion to block to use a counter on him which is so satisfying when you can pull it off, not my favorite but it grew on me over time.
I also despise Data Dark Riku, but recently I decided to do a challenge run of the data org where I didn't use links, kupo coins, or any grinding past where I was when I got there, and that made me have to learn something about his pattern: What attacks he uses are actually given away by what formation of totems he spawns. I forget the exact attacks now, but It made the fight go from random bullshit to having actual patterns and strategy. Oh yeah, and for data Vanitas, you can actually hit him while he's getting on the wave of keyblades, including when he's starting up his DM, making him one of the few KH3 data bosses that let you skip his DM, which is good because of how hellish it is.
I might be a little bit late, but I just want to say that I really loved the data battles on KH3. I did it on Proud at lvl 99, so It's not as hard as on critical, but damn they were still very tuff. When I started my first data battle, I was struggling so hard. During the whole game, I never really played with the square button. Obviously when these battles are all about dodging/block and counter attack you won't last very long if you're only smashing X. So through this battle, I learned to play with the square button, and I have to admit it's way more fun to play this way Here is my personal ranking 1: Yozora 2: Xion 3: Xemnas 4: Vanitas 5: Dark Riku 6: Young Xehanort 7: Terra-nort 8: Larxene 9: Marluxia 10: Saix 11: Xigbar 12: Luxord 13: Master Xehanort I really liked Yozora, Xion and Xemnas because they were strong while also being fair. They are very well made, they can punish you very often, but you can also punish them most of the time if you know the timing
i was happy to see xemnas where he was. i just love the way his fighting style plays out and looks. i don't think i've seen anyone mention it but he does a *lot* of kicking attacks in all his boss fights which makes him pretty unique and cool looking imo
Till now (just took back KH3) I defeated only Vanitas, YXehanort and Xigbar. Vanitas I don't even remember how, YXehanort i understood that funnily you can get the timing for parrying by counting (like he sends the projectile and then 1-2-3-4 block the grab whip). Xigbar is more of a parry game than anything. I love Larxene fight for how fast pace is but cannot go over her DM. Terranort i really cannot manage to get a hold of his moveset, i keep getting beaten like a tomatoe

You guys ever wonder about how taking terras body is how xehanort ended up looking the way he did in KH1 but young xehanort somehow looks just like a younger fused terra and xehanort? Mf didnt even meet terra yet why do they look alike?
How they handled him since chain of memories? Sir riku replica hasnt been in the series since chaij of memories. Unless you count coded but thats q different replica of riku
I cleared these, plus Yozora, in an afternoon. Game was stupid easy. The only ones I had any trouble with were Yozora and Xion. Everyone else took me one, MAYBE two tries.
The reason I use Oath Keeper or Oblivion is because Ultima Weapon is kind of overpowered and OK and OB are less so but your not needing yourself really hard.
That's ranking looks pretty honnest to me. Saïx is a pain in ass, but when you can do it correctly, it's pretty fun and rewarding to beat him. Xemnas is, to me, the funniest data to fight. Vanitas had special place to me, it's a fucking nightmare. His patterns aren't really "fix", and he is, to my feeling, one of the fastest data.
btw you were thinking of the wrong riku replica. the one you fight was sent over from the time riku was possessed by ansem in kh1, the CoM riku replica was the ghost riku thing who found riku in the dark world, and who ripped riku ansem from his replica. kh plot.
Both of the young Rikus in kh3 were CoM Riku Replica. The one inside of Riku is the one that died in front of the TT mansion and went into the original Riku near the end of Reverse/Rebirth. The one in the Real Org was a time traveling Repliku taken from some point during the events of CoM (probably before he got his memories wiped by Namine). This was revealed when he was dying after his fight in the keyblade graveyard. Riku is like "you're me from when I was possessed by Ansem right" and Repliku emerges from him saying "No, this guy is me" revealing that he was actually Repliku and had been lying about being ansem riku. Further backed up by him being called Riku Replica by the org members and the Garden of Assemblage since they normally don't add the word Replica at the end of the other time travelers names even if they're currently residing in Replica bodies (Xemnas isn't called Xemnas Replica despite being in a replica during kh3 since it's still the actual Xemnas' heart).
Why did it take you 3 months to beat these? Did you only play on critical? Im on proud and already beat 3 of them in a couple hours. I dont see what would stop me from beating the rest in 3 months

Using ultima against xemnas is great ... for one the basic ability i.e ground and air combo boosts,,,,,,, and it gets you right to DM stage ....... use is the ultima form against his ring laser+unblockable attack. Just build it during the opening ....,,, now use block on the lasers.......... then use just counter block attack on his unblockable and just start the combo until he disappears (hitting his revenge makes his disappear) and then he starts building those walls... just do the triangle finisher just before wall 3.......it knocks him down lol its pretty funny look for him just along the stage wall,,,,,,,, (destroying all walls) this allows a air step and 2 short combo's before he does that leap attack (the on he does after you break the 3 walls) so another 2 combo's,, then he'll do one of the 2 the opener moves, so more easy damage and you should have another ultima form... after this go back into ultima wait to dodge a ' kneal' thorn and then 1 full combo post finisher hit triagle ....... now your to the first DM
Initially I hated the Dark Riku fight and skipped it for later but after I started learning his openings, it became one of my fav fights just because the tempo was so high and he lacked any moves that I felt were bullshit like some other data battles. My personal favs are Xion, Xemnas, and Marluxia. Hated that Saix fight though.
I disagree with that Dark Riku take, it's a fun, fantastically designed fight that takes no bullshit from the player and demands that they learn his pattern(s) inside and out. The fact that he is by far the least scripted data fight, makes him the most interesting.
Yeah I love the data fights to death but my biggest critique is easily that they are too scripted. Like imagine if Saix wasn’t scripted and you actually needed to quickly react to which combo he is gonna use💀

what dark riku is fun af. his normal mix up is one of the best as you watch anyone playing crit on him get choked by them
I managed to cheese larxene's fight by hitting herand her clones in an staggered state with Ultima shot lock and it melted her health

It’s funny you say Terranort is by far the easiest, because to a friend of mine, Terranort was so hard it almost made him quit the fights all together
