I kinda think that this would be great for someone who is single and works a lot, and has disposable income. You could eat one portion for dinner and bring the leftover portion for lunch the next day. It’s much healthier for you than getting takeout all the time. And you don’t have to worry about ingredients going bad in the refrigerator!
I think it’s great for anyone that has a full time job! Lol I’m in love with this! I work from home, 3 kids and this is the most convenient thing ever. I didn’t think it was that expensive either
That’s me, I’m 20 and work as a HVAC service tech and I’m going through ground school in the evenings for my pilots license. Not a whole lot of time to plan means and pack lunches
From my experience it's all been on a high note. I been getting the Veggie meatless meals for two months and you can actually swap any of the meals for no additional cost. There are the other diets (non Vegetarian meals) as well so if it gets repetitive there is always that option to switch any of them out for those who are interested in trying something off their suggested weekly menu. For those weeks you feel like you're going to be too busy to go to the grocery store or you want to host a dinner date or a party, for an additional cost you can add more meals, more portions for the week then go back to your original meal plan for the following week. You are billed weekly and thankfully you can halt delivery service at any given time for any reason. For me it's convenient because I have 3 little ones and another one on the way, I always have enough for all of us plus leftovers for husbands lunch. Of course to each it's own, then there is the sister company of Hello Fresh that's a little cheaper known as Every Plate it's okay at best but prefer HF and have no intention on cancelling anytime soon.
I won a free one week trial for two. I'm quite a decent cook and understand food quite well. The food tasted ok to pretty good, however their sauces were laden with MSGs - that was enough for me not to use them again. Following the instructions was easy even though I had to look twice a few times. Their proportions were perfect. Price-wise, this model doesn't really make any sense to me. Why? Because for the same price I can get ready meals from the supermarket for less or about the same price and it is already cooked. That's exactly was going through my mind when I was cooking hellofresh meals - I can just buy this from the supermarket and save myself the hassle and maybe even a few pennies. The ready-meals from the supermarket I go to only use natural ingredients. Bottom line is, if you want to cook at home and not have to think what ingredients you need to buy this week and you are not bothered about price or MSGs ( they are not dangerous btw) then this is a good solution for you.
For a single person, l say this would be ok. Enough food to have a meal and leftovers tomorrow. As a family size might be pretty expensive. Most fast food combos from $8-10 normally.
The first and only time I placed an order the package arrived several days later than expected and everything inside the box (including the ice packs) was warm. All meat items were obviously spoiled.
My first box ordered was lost for a week until it arrived. Then I had another box delayed 2 days. Customer service only gave me credit, I was ordering their premium meals. After 6 weeks I canceled and let them keep the $75 in credit. The produce sometimes wasn't very fresh.
I suck at buying only the exact amount of ingredients I need to make a meal and its annoying having to decide what I want to cook for the day. I have the 6-meal plan for 4 people. I pay $189 because I think you only get a discount for like 3 boxes; I can't remember but tbh I don't mind paying that. So far, I've gotten like 6 boxes and all of them have had fresh ingredients that lasted. I do only cook one meal a day for lunch because for breakfast my family usually just eats fruit, tea and some granola bars, oatmeal, or something else. But the meals come with enough to last for dinner time as well. (I have 2 little ones a 2-year-old and 5-year-old so that's probably why there's enough left over for dinner). We do snack on fruits and other things during the day as well that we get from the grocery, so we don't need that much anyways. The only thing I don't like as you mentioned the meals are repetitive, I'm thinking of maybe getting another meal plan subscription and pausing a week and switching.
I’m happy to hear it works for you! And yes there are tons of meal services to try out (maybe with some sweet promos) so there’s a lot to test if you ever get bored
Thanks for your review. Exactly as I expected a waste of time and money for 90%+ of the population. Not just Hello Fresh but all the other similar services.
I tried my first HF delivery today. Food had good flavor but the delivery was not great. Many packages were smashed open and the ice pack had ruptured. Portions were fine and if I had not been home at Time of delivery the food would have spoiled because it was thawed out.
The idea that grocery shopping is better than hello fresh is false for most people. Shopping and food inventory mgmt is an immense time waster, with most grocery options being very poor in nutrition and subject to your choice being not present. Also, with the recent increase in inflation, grocery prices are now much closer to hello fresh, and saming me immense amount of time, gas, inflation adjusted substitute goods, and random chance.
For that price it really should be already cooked. Otherwise looking up recipes online for free and then doing a grocery shop with delivery is more worth it.
Hello fresh is a thief I canceled in January online and over the phone last week it resumed without authorization since the card on the account was expired they got the updated card from my bank contact the better business bureau if they pull that stunt on you
The worst meals ever. I originally went with blue apron but since I was short on some days for food I went to use hello fresh as a fill in. 1)the produce was not fresh -the mashed potato’s turned awful. Like when you get bad potatoes that are old and try to make it? That’s what I’ve experienced. -green onions were really wilted 2)portions were way smaller 3) not providing ingredients like blue apron would Overall a meal kit I would avoid and wonder why they’re still alive

I agree! The key is if you have a little extra to spend on food and don't mind the extra time/effort to prepare it

There isn't much left over for the next day depending on the meal.

It can definitely work well for certain lifestyles. I'm glad you've found something that helps you feed your family!
Hey , so can you customize meals. Im autistic and picky . I hate you can’t see the meals .
Great review...to the point, non biased and honest. I saw other reviews and for some reason they don't seem to be honest .
That's because most of them are sponsored by the company 😅
@@WesleyAnna yes ....that's exactly what i thought. 🤭

Certainly! The more people you're feeding, the easier it is to bulk prep +spend less per person
Thanks for the well thought-out and truthful review!👍🍃
I love your advice on the lime...will be using that technique going forward.
It’s such a useful hack!! 🥸
I agree, I will also.
The first and only time I placed an order the package arrived several days later than expected and everything inside the box (including the ice packs) was warm. All meat items were obviously spoiled.
Oh no! I bet it was misplaced within the mail system. Did you at least get a refund I hope?

Hope you found it helpful!
Agreed! I've loved making the recipes as well but it does come up as costly and I did have plenty of herbs & salad mixes go bad in within 2-3 days :(
Yeah the cost was a bummer for me :/

I think I'm just eat soups loaded with meat, veggies and herbs from now on. Easy, tasty and cheap and they freeze/thaw/reheat nicely.
Yes yes yes! Especially with an instant pot this is the best option for easy + cheap + healthy
I haven't tried any meal kit delivery services yet. Perhaps in the future, but great video!
They have great promos when you start so always worth a shot. Thanks for watching!

They're definitely a niche product!
Great Video so glad I didn't bother after watching this I thought meals where already pre made👍
loved your video! where did you get your pink pan?
it's an always pan!

Oh nooo
I tried this for a few mounths, with only one box per mounth, but eventually had to cancel because it is sooooo prizy
Yes. Just tried my first one and it took too long and what a mess so much to clean afterwards.
may as well just cook your own food at that point! haha
You are doing it wrong!

I liked it, but it’s too expensive & for two, portions just not big enough! Usually enough for my husband only. Nice if you can ‘afford’ it!
I heard they treat worker bad.

Dont forget the excess sodium!!
Didn't even notice that part!
Does it really have excess sodium? You’re making it yourself from fresh ingredients. You can control the amount of sodium in the dish.
@@lisaspikes4291 It really does have excess sodium look at the nutrition facts or ingredients of hello fresh meals
@@yesisthebest
Maybe it in the packaged sauces and condiments?
Looks a little fancy for me.
Wait... how is one meatball 900cal? Did I misunderstand?
One portion of the meatball recipe! Haha
Potatoes, lemons, roasted onions and sour cream with every meal sucks. And makes my house stink.
Where can you get a salad for 10 bucks? They are usually as pricey as the unhealthy entrees or more
Good review! 👍🏾
thank you :)

Just say it Hello Fresh is too white…
No disrespect but let’s face it, as she stated there’s not a lot of ethnic flavors going on.
