What Akon is trying to say doesn't really apply here. Eminem is still big with this generation too, people go crazy when he releases an Album (excited for Revival), announces a tour (ex Reading Festival 2017), or simply is a feature on a song (that song easily overshadows the rest of the album (or in my opinion at least)... Moreover, Marshall does write some song AND you can find some where he actually sings too (Hailies song, Twisted, Beautiful, So Far, Stronger Than I Was'. He REMAINS the highest selling Rapper and one of the top 3 highest selling artists. Moreover, Eminem has one of the largest fan bases out there as evident from his RUclips and Facebook accounts. His music is still relevant and quite influential and he without a doubt is a lyrical genius and definitely in tune with this generation as much as he was with the previous one as we can all tell by the change in style and the development of his albums and songs over the years. So with all due respect 'Akon', I don't see how this is even a point to debate or how you thought it was even logical to compare Drake to Em; Drake may be good, great even, but he has got NOTHING on Em. After all, let's not forget, Eminem is a 'Rap God'.

The debate is moot when one artist buys songs while the other creates their own. No drake hate, but it's not an apt comparison if one artist is really a team of artists (or a sweatshop lol). Akon brings up the point of Drake doing more styles and understanding this generations music more, one could argue that's because those songs were made by newer fresher artists (weekend, Quentin miller, PnD) and then given to Drake. That said I do believe Drake is more savvy and tries harder to stay in tune with what's hot and finds artists who make music that is very current. Eminem on the other hand is always going to be fire but has for awhile now been out of touch of what the average listener expects from music nowadays (mumblerap). Still Drake as an mc can't even be listed next to Eminem.
