Large plastic clip bowl feeder

Vibratory bowl feeder for large plastic part with singulation exported to France
Elscint has recently manufactured and exported a vibratory bowl feeder for feeding of large plastic clips. The clips were required in a certain orientation, which was opposite of how they came up in the bowl. This made the orientation of the same challenging. However, by choosing a conical bowl, and a air blow, most of the parts were turned around to get them in the correct orientation. The wrongly oriented parts were then recirculated back into the bowl by having an orientation plate and another air blow. A 400 mm circular track was attached to the bowl after the orientation to ensure proper buffer. Thereafter, a 800 mm long linear track, completely machined in stainless steel was added to take the parts forward. At the end of the linear track, a special singulation mechanism was provided to make the pick up of the parts easy for the customer’s robot. A speed of 20 parts per minute was achieved as against the requirement of 5 parts per minute. The complete equipment was supplied along with a Festo make F/R/L, valve and cylinder with controls so that the parts would be ready for pick up at all times. A sensor which ensured confirmation of part for pick too was provided. The equipment was shipped by air to the customer’s location in France.
