It’s crazy to think this was actually airing on TV. Such a personal, intimate, gem dropping moment. Jay is just telling about all his experiences and Joe Clair knows which questions to ask to have an actual conversation. TV sucks now haha. They aren’t airing gems like this. This was raw

This man still the same different times but you see the growth as an individual. Dope shit. Ppl say they miss the old Jay but this was Jay still getting into a mainstream stay that’s why he was more open. The growth, the man wasn’t even 30 yet now he’s close to 50’s late 40’s this is really a seasoned vet. Though the game has moved from him in a sense he can never let it go that’s why he does those guest track appearance and still talks that shit in those tracks cause he can still compete and do it better than 98%. But he gives you his growth, even though it doesn’t seem like the Jay z we known, through the ventures and tracks with his girl you know its him being an older wiser experience vet. Him Em, 50, Ice Cube, Diddy,Snoop,Master p, Kanye(crazy ass) Wayne etc..., like them or not, they're our older stars. We have to appreciate it them from then and now, and also respect them and take care of them. In a sense of still rooting for them, yeah they are well off but rooting for them means more opportunities for others coming up and giving effort even if they're not as good, we dont have our dead stars here to shine in the flesh but we have these guys, other genres have their rockstars and idols and take care of them look at the rock bands, hip hop still young in many ways, never made it this far it's a new time and accomplishment for hiphop, look how it’s grown and the government even throws it in our face to dumb our generations down. We are in a new era where these guys favorites won’t be remember unless we keep them alive but these guys and this guy will be remember not always for their rhymes but because they somehow been able to stay relevant. That shit ain’t easy, respect the game and respect the art for itself. “Who would of thought that Hiphop/rap would take it this far” started in corners in different coast with blacks and Hispanics to artist selling stadiums. This is deeper than rap an art form, it's a form for our people to break through and change their lives and also it's so globalized now all walks of life get a chance. fake, real religious etc. they all get a chance. #salute anyways sub to me add me on snap jjgisjjg1 or ig jjgisjjg #Blessings to all

This is DOPE, funny it is a time period In hip Hop when it was still fun it was raw it wasn't as corporate it was about skill set. Jay-Z was already beginning to show his growth at this time.
And to see this in contrast to who the man Jay-Z is today and how far he's come if anything's solidifies him as the goat, he is the only rapper all-time that has consistently been able to grow with his music and continue to give us top tier material... This interview is a classic from a time when BET really gave a s*** about Hip Hop, I actually don't recall seeing this interview at the time of its release but I was only about 11 years old this was great to watch
