Bias died June 19, 1986.. the following school year.. 1986-87 I was in 8th grade in Manassas, Va. That year Bia’s mom went on tour talking to kids in schools about drugs. I’ll never forget when she came to our school for an inspirational speech and presentation about Lenny.

I think of the cards/players who have interesting backstories, oddball record holders, or a novel aspects of a card/player (ex. Cal Ripken Jr F-face card) are perfect examples of non-traditional accolades that gives a card value. Also I think personal value that one might have for a card is worth noting too. For example my entire collection is based around players who served in WW2. To think Washington Senator catcher Mickey Grasso was a POW inthe War, lost 60lbs, escaped during a force march but still made it to the majors is an accolade that is more extraordinary than any batting average or WAR value in my opinion.

Great conversation! The rules were changed to make the game easier for Jordan, Kobe & Lebron, starting with Flagrant Fouls, enforcing the hand-check and not enforcing carrying the ball on your dribble. IMO, Kobe's 2 titles with sidekick Gasol was better than Jordan/Pippen or Lebron/Irving or Wade or Davis. Just my 2 cents gentlemen.

Totally agree with you John on the Jordan-LeBron debate. Jordan is no doubt in my eyes the G.O.A.T. I feel that the changes in the game have also made LeBron look better than he is. Hypothetical scenario, LeBron drives against the bad boys. What happens? Because it doesn't seem like too many teams play defense anymore. Maybe I am bias, not Len, but the world of sports I grew up watching and playing was so much freakin' better. I understand they want to protect the players, I get it. I just feel our generation was tougher and the generation in sports before that may have been tougher than ours. Anyways, Great topics for debate none the less guys. Enjoyed 👍👍and until next time 🤞out

Bias was drafted a Celtic Not sure he was the next Jordan. Lots of college players were the next that never were.

Jordan didn't have Bias's base line jumper in college. Bias and Jordan were level when drafted ( I am a Jordan GOAT guy, for the record).

@@thatseventiescardshow8320 I’m just saying Bias never played nba and many Baby Jordan’s over the years dominated in college never made it in the nba.

@@TheCardHunter You are 100% correct. Every player that makes it to the bigs was the best player on their team for most of their career. However, I'm too big of an 80s basketball goober to let go of my dream of two Jordans playing in one league.
