Here's my 2 cents... you have an excellent physical game and are absolutely capable of competing at the highest level. The only thing holding you back at this point is mental. Knowing what moves to make and when, having confidence in yourself, not overthinking, etc. Putting too much pressure on yourself will always be a detriment. A calm mind allows for a loose swing. That being said... I totally understand the pressures you are dealing with and the feelings of guilt you are having. It's really tough out there. I wish you the best of luck.
While you might be correct, the problem is, that it’s a learning experience to know when to move, change balls, change release, and speed. Mike has another life now and I hope his “dream” of making come true, but as he matures he is also learned other life importance’s for himself.
You have an awesome game, young man!! Everyone telling you to relax and don't bring your struggles to the lanes, also knows it's easier said than done. Life decisions are hard and your choices should always make you happy in the long run. I have every confidence that you will be on tv eventually, with a huge smile, saying that you finally made it!!! Good Luck, Sir!!!
I've been there . I was 23 with the same decision . Unfortunately, I had to bow out. My lowest average was 226 at the time highh was 245. I'm 48 now, and at the time, I was married with two small children. I have no regrets. Smart move evaluating your future. I'm sure you will make the right decision. Love the videos. Keep'em going. Good luck and good bowling.
Guilt implies that you did or are doing something wrong. CBT states that Thoughts create feelings, Feelings create Actions, Actions create Thoughts (think triangle). So positive input creates a positive cycle. You got this kid; lean on your support group they are in your life for a reason. Always a thumbs up hope to see you out there one day in person (different region and much older than you LOL).
Your commitment to your physical game shows, the mental game is faltering it seems. Don’t bring all that with you onto the lanes. Leave it at the door and get busy! You’ve got a lot of people rooting for you!! Can’t wait to see you on TV this year
It's a bit vindicating to hear that someone else is having similar mental struggles as I am. I'm sure you've been told this 100 times before but you're a hell of a bowler and more than capable of crossing with the best in the world. I'm looking forward to seeing you on FS1 in the near future.
i think you should just KISS, with the kind of power you have on your physical game, maintaining the pocket on a not scoring fest event, will definitely get you on the best positions. From this clip, i feel like you are looking for the "HIT" that you are used to see, but think of Smallwood or Angelo, their hits are soft and yet still winning. GL and looking forward to see you on TV
Professional bowling is a grind! Only the top 20 bowlers in the world are strong enough to compete week in and week on the PBA tour. There's not enough television money for the guys and gals lower in the field to make any money. The days of 36 shows a year are long gone. Bowling on the PBA for most wanna be bowlers are contributing to the PBA prize fund. The best a guy can do nowadays is to bowl in local or regional events and get some experience and try and pick your poison. You quickly realize that averaging 240 on your local house shot will get you you a 205 on tour patterns. It's a frustrating experience when your best isn't good enough. The PBA professionals are great bowlers. When you feel like you bowled great, the best two pairs down are shooting 279 on a sick pattern. Most of these guys and gals were born inside a bowling center and those who have to payfor lineage tend to struggle. It's great to follow your dreams, but you might need to lower your expectations a little bit and work on regional events and compete with your peers in the local area.

This is the type of reassurance that'll really help someone

We're all behind you. Keep doing what you doing. Also try polished Urethane balls to stay tighter longer.
You are wise beyond your years my friend. Just remember to have fun.

And just like that. You Bowl a 300 in the PTQ. Congratulations sir
Would love to chat with you sometime, if possible and you're cool with it. Couple questions i would like to ask you.
Have do you not have any sponsors to go out and do this full time? You’re more then good enough.
Getting sponsors is just hard to do in the sport of bowling
@@straightoffthehook8849 That’s fair, I figured with the regionals you’ve won it would of been pretty easy.
