Jeep Gladiator Modified and Trimmed to Clear 42 Inch Nitto Trail Grapplers on KMC Grenade Beadlocks

- Earlier in the year, Cindy and I got a chance to test out one of the very first sets of 42" Nitto Trail Grapplers and on our Jeep JT Gladiator. Unfortunately, we weren't able to keep them being that they belonged to our good friend Mel Wade over at EVO Manufacturing but it did give us a chance to see what all would need to be done, to get them clear. And, while Nitto was nice enough to send us a set of our very own, we weren't able to get them installed or at least, not until now. The problem was, we simply couldn't find a set of 20" beadlock wheels anywhere! In fact, if it weren't for Lisa Wade working her magic, I think we'd still be waiting to buy a set KMC Grenades. Needless to say, this video highlights our Gladiator getting back up on 42's and we hope you like what you see. Oh, and BIG kudos to Discount Tire for helping us out too.

Your dog is amazing, so smart and a great athlete! These KMC wheels are my new favorite! Wow they're so nice, you can tell there was a lot of care that went into making them.
Gladiators really are amazing in that they can look fairly small in stock sport trim, and without the truck adding any structural mass to make it look bigger, look absolutely massive when 20’s and 40+” rubber goes on.
Masterful selection in parts and overall direction. Looks amazing and I’m sure it functions even better than that.
Absolutely hate that you guys lost such a great person and that the industry lost such a valuable asset at her respective company. Hope that Mel, the family as well as close friends can find peace soon.

Our thoughts and condolences to you, your family, and the Wade family for your loss. The tires look amazing. I have 37s on my JT but have it equipped and ready for 40s. Have to make that jump...42s are making 40s the 37s of 10 years ago.

I have also had a great loss! I lost my mother less than a week ago due to Covid. My heart goes out to you it’s always hard to lose someone close.

Very nice. Yes those are the wheels I am waiting on as well for my gladiator. @@wayalife When your approaching 70 you use the floor jack to match the stud height to the holes of the wheel and wiggle the tire forward.
Man those tires are huge! The wheels look great too! The inner fender and trim delete opens up the wheel wells a lot! Are you going to install aftermarket inner fenders? Unfair ending with Ripley! So cute and smart. You can see him solving the problem about how to get on top of that tire!
I wondered about the liners too, snow here where I live would be a bad thing with no liners

It's funny... I like how 35s look. 37s always looked kinda too big to my eye for some reason. 40s I thought were just ridiculous. But now, these 42s look completely badass! I guess it's all about making sure the lift and offset make everything look like they belong together, which you've done very well here.
Can't wait to see some clips of the Gladiator in action with the big boy shoes! :)
LOL - I think 42's look right on a Gladiator being that it's such a big truck. I personally don't think they look quite right on a JL or JK.
