It's a nice idea, but I don't like the fact there no quick release for the unit, It looks like a mobile phone when it's off, and I'm sure some scally will be tempted to take it if you leave you bike parked anywhere for some time. If they had a mount with a quick release, (Quad lock/SP mount style) I'd be all over this.
