Thank you I have been seeking how to get better at brushing on detail (sweeping lines). Silly but it is all about confidence and I appreciate hearing that. I will practice. Some potters haver beautiful lines. I can practice on paper first. I love your videos.

Jay, my name is Dennis and Phil and I are business partners at Washington Street Studios. I took up pottery preparing for retirement and I will warn you, pottery is addicting! I have a home studio with three wheels, shelves full of tools and a kiln. And our business has a total of 15 wheels, 7 kilns, slab roller, extruder and spray booth. It's the most fun retirement a person could have!

Thank you. A potter for many years, now full time. Great points. I will be evaluating my steps and technique. Have always signed my name so you could read it. Have many pots from many potter friends, most lacking in good signature, so even I am not sure who made them.

Pottery is my hobby and I make it because I enjoy ceramics. I consider myself an amateur studio potter who makes nonfunctional decorative pieces that I intend to be unique and one of a kind. When they turn out with uneven handles, twisted bodies or less than perfect, that reflects on my intention to be “Folk Art” rather then a production piece. I want my work to be seen as amateur rather than professional. Needless to say I don’t sell my pieces. I do find some of your videos entertaining and helpful.

Rohrshack, I am Dennis, the behind the camera guy, and I work much the same way. I have found that as I grow in my skills in pottery I am able to make intentional alterations to make the pieces unique and hand-made. And I also find Phil's lectures and teachings most entertaining and helpful!
      Thanks for your comment.

@@WashingtonStreetStudios hi Dennis, I recently heard that Phil passed away. So sorry to hear that news. Two questions, is anyone going to take his place and how can I get access to all his past videos? Not that I think he can be replaced easily but I have learned so much from him. He will be remembered for a long time since I suspect he was a teacher’s teacher. May he Rest In Peace and sincere condolences to his family.

@@rOHRshackartpottery All of his videos will remain on this channel. And this channel will remain as long as RUclips allows! We are going to continue making videos and we are working on that plan. We may invite guest potters to present as well as presenting with the 'other' owners of Washington Street Studios.
