I'm glad you enjoyed playing Miitopia! I loved it on the 3DS, I almost finished the demo on Switch and then deleted my save file because time I wanted to play with all the amazing miis people created in that version. It didn't take long to get back to where I was, I finished the demo all at once when I replayed it! Can't wait for the actual Switch release in a couple of days. I'd love to see you play more of this and I can't recommend the Switch version enough, it's the same as on the 3DS, but with some additions that make it an even better experience!
You can't change your job until later in the game, but you CAN change it so don't worry. (I accidentally picked a wrong job once, just like you did, I raged soooo much lol but I just had to deal with it until I got to a switching point) Also, a protip: you can hold down B to make anything progress faster (e.g. field walking, text, battles)
