After 9/11 at Dance Fiesta, I was just a novice dancer and I must have had some beach ball size lady nuts to ask him to dance...when I did he said he couldn't at the moment. I was so sad...but someone pointed me out sitting in a chair...Jason walked right over and said "come on let's dance" he was amazed at my abilities at only a novice dancer, asked me who my pro was and told my pro he had and amazing dancer in his hands! Ill never forget that moment!
He was great dancer and part of his greatness was in the fact that he knew that she was the shining star and did not try to overwelm her. he understood that he had to hold back a little so she could excel but the total of their greatness was greater than the sum of each apart neither would be as fantastic apart as each was when they played off each other sad sad loss
The incredibly part is that None of them could 'hold back' if they tried! They were "Par excellence" like two Quasar Stars orbiting each other in perfect motion.
@@kevincurtis7917 sometimes in ballroom dancing they call the male partner "the frame" and the female partner "the picture"... what you said i often give as advice to young men just starting out in dancing The couples dancing I do isn't as fancy as West Coast swing or ballroom, but that's the principle I always follow :) the male is there to protect the female and do whatever he needs to to make her look good :) some of my female partners trust me enough that they close their eyes when we waltz :) I consider that a huge compliment :)

He doesn't act like a show off which comes through because he's always highlighting her beauty her talent her moves yet he does similar difficult moves with no no desire to draw attention but he draws attention to himself as well however not on purpose it just comes out naturally and the way he's able to lead her it's easy for her to do her twirls and head tilts! He makes it easy for her HE'S doing all the hard work! Nobody can tell or maybe they can!

Unfortunately he dies within two years of their union and she gave up competing, she opened a dance academy, but she gave it all up and retired as she missed Jason so much.

This routine is spectacular choreography & dance... rivaling their Honky Tonk Woman routine. Actually this is my fave of the top five Colacino/Boyle routines, the energy they put out is beyond belief..!

And she of course, is phenomenal. They both are. They really are perfection together. Or were I should type. He left us far, far too soon.

Both are exceptional dancers who connected beautifully. I know Jason has passed, I don't know if Katie still competes but I doubt she'll find another Jason. I watch a lot of dance competition videos and this couple is the best I've ever seen.

The thing you could see when these two danced that they were actually in love my wife and I used to dance a lot and that's what people would tell us that's why we Blended so good on a dance floor I could not dance with any other woman she could not dance with any other man God rest your soul my friend
This routine was one of the best I’ve ever seen. It made me sad knowing the judges totally screwed Jason & Katie out of first place, which they totally deserved. The judges had their heads up their ass. I was at the event. In addition to watching the performance I was watching the judges and half of them were more focused on the crow around them and snacking. Real sad! Here's just another case of politic getting in the way. The judges should be but in jail for their ignorance & bias.
I continue to watch this amazing performance - they are the Fred & Ginger of my time.
