These graphics are insane, getting close to seriously not being able to tell the difference between this and a real game. I remember being blown away by Tony La Russa Baseball 3 on the PC.
The one little thing I hoped they changed is not to skip the catcher throwing back to the pitcher. Would like to hear the sound of that glove instead of skipping straight to the scene
It’s amazing how critical of games we have become over the years. I understand we are paying 60-70 bucks but they are games and will never be perfect. I think our standards as gamers are way too high. I remember playing 8 bit Nintendo and having fun. Smh
Expectations can often lead to disappointment. Sure some companies just do slight changes and roster updates etc and sell a new version. But yea people's expectation of perfection is vastly different. I base my reviews and judgment on having fun. If I had fun then the game is worth it to me nowadays. Graphics and stuff only go so far for my enjoyment

There was a time when I played the FK out of a previous version of the show lol. I was buying packs and playing dynasty mode trying to fill in that huge map grid w wins lol. Then I’d build my own super player from a minor leaguer to pros. It was just so much fun but my only gripe was from 1 version to the next you lost all that progress and weren’t able to switch your cards over to the new 1.
What always gets me is the crowd with random standing and jumping.And if you look at the crowd on first and third base sides they are not even watching the game.😂

They didn't make all the changes that was supposed to be made during the of season renovation. They updated the outfield dimensions but the renovated 500 levels and elevated bullpens are not reflected in the game which sucks.

This is by far the most realistic sports game I've seen! For a second I thought I was watching it live on CBS or something lol. The player movements, presentation, commentary, audience everything is so great!
How is there no lineup presentation before 1st pitch? Aren’t they trying to make it a realistic broadcast? Every single broadcast displays the lineup before the game starts…

Game looks incredible but I couldn't get over how much cheering and advertising was there for the Yankees in Toronto. Definitely not reality but the graphics and things like that that lower onto the field are pretty cool
I had to get into it but after playing a couple games I seen all the small things added and MLB 23 kinda dope I gotta admit..they can use some added player animations but overall the game cold..low key feel like u in a stadium when u at-bat.. they're taking it slow cuz there's a lot more games and money to be made off the show lol

Thats why i dont buy The show since 2021. Because they do some cosmetic, and a few audio changes. But for the most part.. They have been transfering the same visual mechanics, from the past 4 tittles. The only big visual change, that started in 2021, was the mouth movement of the pitchers. I bet 2023 mouth movement on the batters still the same. When they seem to say" What Da Hell ". Sport games developers, move over too much of the same functions, visuals and audio to save money. A game would never be renovated 100 % different from the previous. It would be cool if the umpire could behave almost like a real one. Like the way the point out strikes. I am tired of listening to the same umpire voice used on the past.4 games.
Am I the only one who have this perception that the "MLB The Show" series always make the pitches look very slow, It is like they are doing slow pitch baseball, but the batter is batter will a very strong and fast swing. On the other hand, the Japanese baseball game (e.g. Pro-baseball spirits seems to capture a more realistic feel in pitching speed.
I’m so glad that they got new commentary people. No offense but Matt Vasgersian and Dan Plesac was kind of annoying. It always seemed like they don’t talk about the people playing on the field. They mostly talked about their career and say stupid stuff that you wanna go punch them At least, in the new one, the commentary people are times better. Sure they talk about their career too but at least they mostly talk about the people on the field and talk about life events around them. Like one of them was talking about them (him) getting a free soup after getting a home run at a restaurant. And talking about who they got their first hit off of. But I really gotta say the new folks have different things to say, depending who you’re versing/playing as.
No what they need to do which I don't understand why them and Madden still have yet to do After all these years is take a page out of 2K's book and have the commentators actually talking throughout the game and even holding long conversations. Because yes, it's refreshing to have new commentators the past 2 years but they still get repetitive whereas in 2K you can play a whole season and pretty much never hear the same thing twice that you heard in previous games You played on your teams schedule

I think the graphics look amazing. Its much better then previous years. Its true 4K HDR resolution at 60FPS. A good amount of new games look worse then this or just the same.
Personally this is a masterpiece of a game. and when you’re watching from this perspective the narrator,graphics and just all round feel of everything feels like a real match
I bought it. The last MLB the show game before this I had wasMLB the show 20. I buy sports games every 2 to 3 years. You notice more of the changes that way
I’ve never understood why when you are hitting and hit the ball the camera doesn’t zoom into where you hit it like it does when you’re playing defense. For any hit to the outfield you end up squinting to see what will happen. Real mlb broadcasts don’t do this. Just keep the zoom in the same for offense and defense so we can see where the ball is going and how close the fielders are to it.

why are the jays wearing sspring training jerseys? also a small detail that they got wrong are the dugouts. the jays usually sit on the umpire's left side and the away team on his right.
@@dickdickerson1948 it also might be a Batting Practice Jersey, I forgot they have those as jersey options. I tend to stick to the normal home/away jerseys when I play.
all these photorealistic graphics but shirt sleeves are clipping into the shirts themselves and the catchers hand is hovering over the pitchers shoulder
The game looks the same on PS4 ! Mybe on PS5 Looks a little better but not a OMG looks wayyyy better lol. But I did notice a better sound of the crack on the bat 😆
I agree. I seriously found myself nodding off watching this snoozefest with flickering graphics. Although it looks crisper than it did years ago, they really haven't changed anything. The stats are still abysmal. They got rid of the manage-only mode.

I think it’s funny that Toronto is playing at their home stadium against the Yankees but Yankees is the home team and Toronto is the away team.

As long as they keep up with the real life changes to MLB no defensive shift, batters clock and so on, I’m ok with it.

After the first out if you press L2 you can see the starting lineups don’t know why they don’t do it before the game starts either.

This must be some kind of "custom set up". The Yankees appear to be the home team in Skydome. That would explain the teams being in the wrong dugout.

I agree. I seriously found myself nodding off watching this snoozefest with flickering graphics. Although it looks crisper than it did years ago, they really haven't changed anything. The stats are still abysmal. They got rid of the manage-only mode.
