This is the first time Dingbat appeared in a cartoon with Gandy Goose and Sourpuss. This is one of the few color Terrytoons shorts in the Public Domain. This cartoon entered the Public Domain On December 27th, 1977, two days after Christmas. Both the original and reissue titles exists. The short with its reissue titles are included on some Public Domain releases. This is the only Terrytoon short featuring Gandy Goose and Sourpuss to be in the Public Domain, while the rest remain under copyright. This is also the only Public Domain cartoon to feature Dingbat, as his other shorts are still under copyright.
I had the vhs compilation tape this short was on. Always confused me because I had never seen these characters in a Looney Tunes short before. It was for that reason I was convinced Sourpuss killed Gandy and then the Dingbat killed Sourpuss at the end. I always felt, as a kid, how messed up that was.
This is good old American animation before it was decreed that everything animation could only be done right in Korea! I loved the seal sound effects when the elephants came out!
I recall the first time I saw this cartoon was on a VHS at a relative's house with various Looney Tunes shorts, I was very confused, I was like what is this?, this isn't Looney Tunes.
I use to have this cartoon on VHS when I was small boy in the early 90's.

In my opinion, I think “The Last Round Up” might be in the Public Domain though since I heard it showed up on a Public Domain VHS tape in Europe.
This could be the only time that Dingbat talked.
