    My Relative,
This is why I will continue to make documentaries and films.
I am still in Film//Video school, but I have been doing getting Our Lakota Elders for 10 years with professional cameramen, and producer, directors. I have been holding back and waiting for the Spirit to direct me.
When it is time I will make the best Native American film from the Spirit. I am a natural common man. Nick

***** Thank you for your kind view of us, but please try not to define us for who you think we are. We are still here.

    • @eyespottedeagle
      @eyespottedeagle  9 лет назад +13

***** If you want to know who we are ask us. For instance, our view of Nature is in us all and we have a true connection that most modern day people have lost before you came to this Continent. I say most, because there are some who are still connected to our Creator. The Creator, we call " The Great Sacred Mystery of Life." created all Nature and we are all part of it. You think our ethics is divorced from the word Divine. The Sacred Mystery has purpose and meaning, our definition comes from the Creator, not a human being. We simply do not only admire our Grand Mother Earth. "We cherish her, because she is Alive, and she is not an object." She gave birth to all living things upon her. She is "the Source of Life, not only a Resource to be plundered like a Capitalist does and acts like she has an unlimited supply of resources for the stealing." The Sacred Mystery of Life has many names, but she is about giving, not stealing, or hoarding.

"Being a warrior isn't about taking Lives. Being a warrior isn't about showing strength. Being a warrior is not showing how much knowledge you have. Being a warrior is LEARNING HOW TO CRY. bcause when a man cries learns how to understand. Because when a man cries, compassion starts to grow." Let us memorize this and, during this time of lent, ask ourselves this: Wasn't Jesus this type of warrior? The answer is that he was. May he form us into true warriors by his tears, his death and most importantly his resurrection.

Wow I've been confused for a while now, since july of 07. I miss my native ways, I'm a proud Cheyenne female Marine. Sometimes I get lost in the service, being around different races and peoplem I feel strange. I know where I come from and who I am. I joined the Marines to honor my loved ones who have fought and served before me, my elders, brothers and sisters. This video was very comforting for me, I appreciate your time you gave to share this with the youtube community.

The way Native Americans connect their lives to the Earth is beautiful.... I'am Hispanic but i think deep down inside somewhere there is some Native Culture in me that helps me understand what all the Native Americans went and still go through everyday. I've got friends who are Native American and they sometimes tell me stories of their culture, and i sometimes think about how it would've been if America was still occupied by only the American Indian. They truly are beautiful people in my eyes.

Beautiful video, simple yet powerful truths. Upon seeing Wallace Black Elk, I recalled when I met him. We were both (along with dozens of authors) touring the country, speaking at the Whole Life Expo. Atlanta was the last location. At the end of the last day I headed to the area where authors sign books. There was only one other person in the book signing area when I arrived. It was not hard to recognize that person- Wallace Black Elk. I introduced myself, then asked him, “What do you like to be called?” He replied, “Some call me Brother; some call me Grandfather.” I replied, “Nice to meet you, Grandfather.” His presence is hard to describe but the memory remains clear.

This is nice to see on RUclips. I am only part Cherokee, but have formerly studied religions at university. I was taught about native heritage, customs, and rites which were directly drawn from the Lakota/Oglala from Black Elk. The book we used in class was The Sacred Pipe: Black Elk's Account of the Seven Rites of the Oglala Sioux as mostly translated by his grandson Benjamin Black Elk and recorded by Joseph Epes Brown. So there are some universities that teach to preserve and cherish.

How we live it we take with us in the next one.

Nathan's heart is pure, and he repeats messages from the Spirit, which are also past down from our ancestors. Both women and men learn from their tears, and not only warriors.
However, it's the most important thing to learn from our personal crying and opening ourselves up, so we can harmonize with the Spirit.

That is a very great point. That's why there is so much fighting among us. I notice many people who preach the Bible are very righteous and pious which is suppose to be the exact opposite of the entire point in following a power higher than ones self. I think that the native's values are so powerful because they reflect a respect for creation above all else. The tone of their voices are so peaceful when they speak; you feel like you have encountered someone of deep spirit.

When I was eleven, one of my Native American mentors told me this;life is like a river. The Old World story about the raindrops joining to make a rivulet, then a stream, then a creek, then a river and finally ending up in a lake or ocean was a good one,he said. But he meant from one side of the river to the other. When we are born, our spirit steps off one bank and onto a stepping stone,in the river. There are many stepping stones. And there are many paths across the river.Sometimes you are crossing---

He is a spokes person, and is one of the young Lakota medicinmen. He speaks very well, and he follows the Spirit.
The 7th generation has two meanings, one for the Lakota, and one for all human beings. The one for all, means that, every generation is the 7th, so that they will be praying for the next 7th, just as it will be, if each generation is concerned and willing to sacrifice for the next 7 generations. Then no generation will be left out.

  • @Taranau

by yourself, and other times you are crossing with others. Some cross the river quickly, others take a while. And,when you "die",you step off that last stone, onto the bank on the other side of the river. All three worlds are "spirit worlds".Complete and full of life. And across the land on the other side of the river,is yet another river to cross. And in each world you cross, you are a complete person.Sharing the trials and travels thru life with many spirits.Sometimes, the same spirits, over and over.

I am surprised, because I believe exact the same thing. Never let others change our decision. And if it's not for the pure LOVE, then it's nothing

Those that understand, those that feel and see the path cry for the original Native peoples, already understand we are all connected. We can not correct the past atrocities but those of us that cry alongside the Natives, not for ourselves but for the Earth Mother.... we are the NEW 'Native' Americans.... So with this we owe it to our elders and past leaders to Honor Native Americans by educating yourself... if your heart and spirit be pure is there a judgement or reason that WE can not carry the sacred fires of the Old Ones forward into a new world with Honor? Understanding Truth in Others, We find our OWN Truths.

This is really good. It is "real", from the Lakota traditions passed along for centuries, even thousands of years. Spirituality is a jigsaw puzzle. Every tribe and people have been given a piece, or a few pieces, and the more you put them together, the more you see. But you can't force them, like the wrong side of the jigsaw puzzle pieces. You kind of have to let them go where they are supposed to go, and then they fit together beautifully.

@MrMrEinstein Thank you for acknowleding your own connection to one of the elements, that we are all made up of water, fire, air, and our Grandmother Earth. These Wisdom Keepers have a connection to our Creator, The Great Mystery of Life. A special gift that only our Creator can give; to these chosen ones with a Vision to see and communicate with Our Creator, so that the way is open to the rest of us common nature people. Healings, and blesings can began.

Thank you, Teachers of Wisdom. I learned this word: In Lak-Ech. I hope to learn more before I deserve to become one with the wise people. I am a Grandmother of 63. But I need to learn a lot still.

Trust in yourself comes before belief. How can you believe in something, without trusting yourself to believe in anything? Finding yourself through your own tears helps one to trust in yourself by finding yourself with trust, and compassion for yourself and others.

Being a warrior is staying your good person no matter what pain you face and standing up no matter what people think. I listen to my heart. Creator teaches you inside. You don't need to follow other people. Creator talks in our hearts. Anything done out side of love is not a good thing. If it's not love, it's wrong. That's is me being a warrior. Find your way. Be good to each other. All my relations. Thank you.

I've always wanted to go to a rez and help people out there. I think it's very important to preserve the native culture and way of life. I'd go do it free just to be able to learn more from them.

the only life you can live is your own. there's nothing wrong in caring, but you can,t live it for them. but, you can be the best person you know how to be, and teach by example
