As a mom, my heart goes out to the first caller who is pregnant. I wish I could hug her and tell her it will be ok. 75k is a great income for u and baby. A baby is only as expensive as a parent wants it to be. I would get second hand everything for the first year because they grow so fast. Unfortunately even her being 10 weeks along. If she is looking into daycare she should put her child on the wait list now. I put mine on at the same time and I waited over a year for her to go to daycare.
Not with $50,000 in debt. Yes she can get second hand but she still needs to pay for diapers, childcare and formula depending on if she breastfeeds or not. Hopefully her mom can take care of the baby until she climbs her way out of debt.
@@TheRealTommyBear33exactly. Nobody is asking that question. She was without baby making 75k a year and moved in with her parents? Something is off. I know women that make 35k a year and have two kids and are living just fine.

Confused about why single mom "needs" to move out of her mom's house???? What? Reality is a single mom needs emotional, physical, and financial support with new baby. Seems like mom could give her some grace for the short time a baby is a baby...her grandchild. Once baby can talk and olden enough for some kind of school, it's safe for out of family care. There's a LOT of issues and research of negative impact of day care in this nutty world. People make all kinds of sacrifices to put kids through college, but dismiss importance and value of MOST CRITICAL time of when new baby's entire brain is wired and character shaped for a lifetime. A child's entire personality and character is DONE by time child is SEVEN years old. Without a solid, secure infant phase, children are set-up for failure.
Did you get to the part where the divorced mom had the 5 million house and 700k in the bank and then acted like she ran the business that the husband obviously owned
Reverse mortgages are a joke. They tell you that they'll give you a loan against your house and when you die it's deducted from your estate and your children still get the house after that money is deducted. That is a lie. It's not that simple. The fees are astronomical and with their income, they are much better off doing one repair at a time, saving up, and not risking their home.
Last call AJ Denver - coffee shop guy. You also need to consider other factors. A coffee shop will be most visited in evenings and weekends. Will your wife and family be happy with you gone most of that time - a totally different schedule than what they have been used to with you as an engineer? Will your wife deal well with fluctuating rather than a steady income? LOTS of things to consider - this would be a seismic change of lifestyle.
I would ask her mom if she could stay the 1st year of the babies life. She going to need help and support. This would also give her time to pay off a few bills before getting her own place.
She makes 75k moved in with her mom to get her life together queue songsong plays You let him hit it raw (raw) You didn’t have second thoughts (thoughts) Now you a single mom (mom) Now you a single mom (mom) You said I'ma have this kid (kid) Don’t care if he’s here or not (not) But now you a single mom (mom)
Because that's the logical time for her to get used to living on her own if she is going to do so after the baby. The Mom might not want to start again with a young child in the home.
I have learned so much watching this channel. I make a relatively good income but if you asked me where my money went each month I couldn’t tell you. I also impulse bought items I didn’t need and racked up some credit card debt. Making a budget was eye opening. I first made one based on what I “thought” I was spending and realized how far off I was in some areas. I don’t eat out very often but when I do it’s usually a nice dinner with drinks and I realized I was blowing $250 on 2-3 dinners a month. I’m now more confident with my spending habits, can pretty accurately estimate my spending, and will be debt free by September of this year. My only criticism to the general recommendations these folks make is when they suggest people need to spend the bare minimum and live like a college student eating ramen noodles. I suppose each person’s financial situation is different, but for me it’s like starting a diet and going cold turkey. Eventually most people will binge. Had I thrown every penny at my debt I think I would have failed. I still allow myself a little “fun” money so it’s not so restrictive. At the end of the day it will cost me an extra $250 in interest but it’s worth it to me to have some flexibility to still spend a little on non essentials. I’m sure it’s a completely different situation for people who struggle just to make ends meet.
Well she acted like she ran the business that the husband obviously owned that's why she hasn't done it since she divorced the husband and she didn't know any of the numbers
How can you say she paid twice as much for her vet degree? Based on what? I have heard so frequently that Vet school is so competitive because there aren't enough of them. Maybe she should have saved more to get herself through, but I heard the call the other day with Jade and George. It was bad advice. You can't stop vet school part way through. How does that help anything? She made a bad decision, maybe, so she should bail without a degree? Am I not understanding this properly?
You absolutely can pause halfway through veterinary college. Not ideal, but it's done. I did, due to medical issues. At that time, I was granted two years to re-enroll with one of the following classes. After that, I would have to reapply but if all issues were resolved would be pretty much guaranteed acceptance. That may have changed since I was in school, and it may vary by college. She should definitely talk to the Dean.
I have noticed a lot of people get solar panel on a loan and then regret it. Do they not think about the decision before they do it? Are the sales people really that good?
Child support - should file with district Attorneys office immediately. They keep track, they collect it (a lot do not pay Even in court order to pay) thus, DA has ability to have it taken out of their check before they get it. They also keep track of amount owed so if they quit or ditch, the amount accrues and is debt they can take when monies come up again.
Solar panels with a reputable company is a good deal. Paid cash for net zero, and the electric company actually got 3 months from me this year because it was a mild winter. Payoff is expected at 8 years on 30 year panels.
For the solar panels, has he been registered for SREC? This account has to be set up so you sell your excess energy. This starts to cut down your monthly bill. Also, talk to cos about the tax credit

Molly, use the commute time to listen to Ramseys podcasts! It can be time for yourself.
I also do this. Not just Dave, but also audiobooks. Just use the time wisely and it isn't wasted
yep Dave employers don't skip a beat when you leave. The beat goes on!
Hi Dave, please make every dollar app accessible in Ontario, Canada. I would love to use the app, thanks.
I’m not going to a rock wall gym built by a 20 year old who has no construction experience. I’m surprised Dave didn’t mention that.
And CrossFit gyms aren’t “working” either. Margins suck there too.
It’s pitiful that people don’t recognize simple respect for your elder in Jade’s demeanor with Dave. She’s deferring a lot to his wisdom-and she should. The calls they took are much deeper than what I’ve heard her and George tackle. Go Jade, you’re doing great!!
This is the episode that has changed my entire life.
Did you get to the part where the divorced mom had the 5 million house and 700k in the bank and then acted like she ran the business that the husband obviously owned
That AC bill in South Flo is now $600-$650
Watch you everyday! Love it! Can't download the Every Dollar app though because I live in Saskatchewan, Canada.
Scripture of the day!!! Love it ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Reverse mortgages are a joke. They tell you that they'll give you a loan against your house and when you die it's deducted from your estate and your children still get the house after that money is deducted. That is a lie. It's not that simple. The fees are astronomical and with their income, they are much better off doing one repair at a time, saving up, and not risking their home.
I am a single adult, never even been married. I feel like this is geared toward couples/families.
I love how passionate Dave gets when people screw over people. He just gets so ramed up. I love it. 🙌
I would tell her to save up to take the extra 4 weeks extra to care for her baby. 9 weeks is not enough adjustment time.
She makes 75k moved in with her mom to get her life together queue songsong plays You let him hit it raw (raw)
You didn’t have second thoughts (thoughts)
Now you a single mom (mom)
Now you a single mom (mom)
You said I'ma have this kid (kid)
Don’t care if he’s here or not (not)
But now you a single mom (mom)
Not sure why getting out of her moms house is a priority with a baby one the way
Agree. As a mom if I could I'd want to help.
Because that's the logical time for her to get used to living on her own if she is going to do so after the baby. The Mom might not want to start again with a young child in the home.
You never know the situation of her with her parents. There might be some tension between them that we don’t know

@@Trustbutverify2651I disagree..
Dave: "You have over 4 million dollars in assets, you've been living a luxurious life"
Caller: "Well... It's all relative"
lol relative indeed.
Well she acted like she ran the business that the husband obviously owned that's why she hasn't done it since she divorced the husband and she didn't know any of the numbers
What a great show
How can you say she paid twice as much for her vet degree?
This is amazing information. I’ve just been introduced to this speaker. Yay my new you tube channel to listen to. Thank you very much.
So true Dave:
"The negative comments are irrelevant"
Life advice, not just for annoying people hiding behind a keyboard!
Jade is a completely different person with Dave than other hosts. But I guess maybe we all would be sitting next to our boss. On the air… lol 😂
I absolutely agree 💯
35 y/o old enough to know better!!!..she says she knows. .so why call the show after the fact.. that's what you call .. ass backwards!!!
I've noticed that too.
Jade looks too serious. Something is up......
They all suck up to him in adulation. It’s very annoying. But I still listen.
How do you get a mortgage on 65k? If you qualify for special mortgage programs you won’t need a huge deposit.
I have bpd. You help with your advice. Bpd causes money problems and it's tough. Can you address this problem?
Yes sir. I am 33 years old and ruined a 16 year friendship when we tried out a heat and air business.
I have noticed a lot of people get solar panel on a loan and then regret it. Do they not think about the decision before they do it? Are the sales people really that good?
jade with the ultimate dad joke ftw. "HeBrews Coffee" 😂
😅
never listened to this show and its interesting i need to learn more about money matters
I can always push myself to be better and get out of debt
Good advice chanel. Wirth liseningnto n take some notes for sure.
That's crazy I started my second job on the day this dropped
Thank you both.
I gained tremendous insights.
I would love some ideas on how to make it uncomfortable to make it better.
Solar panels with a reputable company is a good deal. Paid cash for net zero, and the electric company actually got 3 months from me this year because it was a mild winter. Payoff is expected at 8 years on 30 year panels.
25:16 My heart. I'm praying for you.
Oh boy, wish I could have a look into all the data your app collects. Probably one of the best retail tools
I remember Robert Wagner endorsing one of those scam reverse mortgages. Like Dave said, old time actors still trying to collect on their name🤔
For the solar panels, has he been registered for SREC? This account has to be set up so you sell your excess energy. This starts to cut down your monthly bill. Also, talk to cos about the tax credit
Jade, good thinker as always on your head, especially being a Bard. We do however have a HE-BREWS, here in Emmet Idaho.
I love the soundtrack choices for Ramsey!
Funny Jade. Montel Williams!
Solar panel loan has put a lien on your house. The lien stays with your house until it is paid
What's the difference between reverse mortgage and HELOC?
OMG thanks Dave for calling out the baby daddy for child support. Bravo to you both. Way too many dead beats out there.
That's so true. My first husband left me with a toddler and an infant
Never heard from him again
My girls are in their 40s now but I worked full time and l went to school full time for a career as an RN
I learned to make smart choices at the grocery store and never ate out my family helped me and I succeeded. Change your circumstances if you don't like them. Now we are on babystep #2 paying off our debt. My husband and I. Thanks Mr Ramseu
Please, could you do more videos geared towards single adults? Most are geared towards families with children, which is understandable in our society.
Listen to Dave Ramsey.
Who looks after the baby whe she returns to work? In the uk maternity is a lot longer and paid longer but then when a parent returns to work childcare is very very expensive
I just want to say thank you to the dave ramsey show! I made $1000 for my emergency fund in 60days. I just have one question that i know is most likely obvious. Do i want to use that money towards my small loans or credit card, or not touch it?
lol at 39:14. We're selling our house that we bought in 2014 ..... our house has more than doubled in 10 years 😂
Absolutely! I live in Alabama in a small town. My house is worth exactly double what it was when I bought it in 2015. 🎉
we just paid off our 23k car but wondering if i should sell it cause we only make 60 k or less a year we paid it off in 7 months now we are looking for a house
Imo, no! Keep it well maintained and drive it until the wheels fall off, it's paid for!
Turn that payment toward something else, down payment account, etc
The young man rock climber is a dreamer. A dangerous dreamer
Dose ramsey provide FPU in spanish I been teaching my church I been translating it all myself but was wondering if there's a FPU in spanish to make it easier
So funny. I’m listening to the part about the gym and the climbing endeavor with the five potential friends I drive past this place that says climbing and fitness center and it’s closed and it’s 9 o’clock in the morning. There isn’t a car in the parking lot. It’s obviously a fail business.
The amount of ads is absolutely absurd! Can’t get through one call without and ad… ridiculous
What should i do with 20k? I need business or investment ideas!🙏
