Super Bowl 1 was in the 60s, who back then would’ve ever thought a young black woman would absolutely shred the guitar whilst singing “America the Beautiful” before a Super Bowl. America has its flaws, but there is beauty in that country. This performance exemplifies that beauty.

Young Black artists take note. As a 50+ year old black male I was so proud to watch HER and The Weekend perform at the SB!! That is talent, that is entertainment. Our roots are Rhythm and Blues and showing our skills and talents. Not just banging our rap songs about Ho`s, drugs and guns. To see all the black people playing their violins and strings during The Weekends show was pleasing to the eyes and ears!!

I would Love to see H.E.R. I’m such a huge fan! She’s so young and incredibly talented. It’s been truly a blessing to have been listening to her for so many years. Roots Picnic has some amazing performances of H.E.R. but everything she touches is Gold.
