Because of your video I replaced my Vent Valves on my 545i with the n62 engine, the repairs removed my p2189 and p2187 fault codes. My plastic cover had wires connected to it so I didn't replace them but both of my valves were torn so I replaced both, it took me about 20 minutes, it was easy, fun and saved me a ton of loot, Thanks.

Thanks for the videos. Please keep them coming. While most service centers are unethical in their work, it's good to know there are people like you helping the common man. For this job, the service center wanted $600 from me.

Thank you for showing beginning to end! Awesome job......... I was having such a hard time finding out how to remove the vanity cover. That may sound whimpy, but if you've don't know how it is held on, breaking it would be very costly!2008 BMW x5 4.8L

WOW !! Thank you so much for the invaluable information. Just completed this maintenance and felt very comfortable with your guide. Though the point is good, I actually took extra time to Deep Clean all that dirt, gunk and excess off my engine while it was more wide open than normal. Oh boy, what a difference. A few little rotary brushes and harbor freight cheap brush set, a lil Dawn in a spray mister, and a misting clean water bottle and I am sooooooooooooo much happier.
i SIMPLY CANNOT THANK YOU enough. Awesome.

Great video. I recently bought a 2009 750Li. I've been watching BMW dyi videos recently and I'm shocked at the amount of, and heavy use of so many plastic parts in a car that costs upwards of $90,000 when new. I'd think auto engineers would easily figure out that all that plastic is bound to fail given the extreme heat of an engine compartment.

Is this why my evap and secondary air wont get ready for the emissions test?. It's been 260 miles since and everything is ready on the drive cycle except them 2. How can I get the secondary air to get ready. I changed these CCVs about 2 months ago btw...

FYI those are just cap nuts holding on that engine cover not Torx. I have an 07 and my passenger side is not directly attached to the cover, it is near the top of the engine mid-stream a larger hose that goes between the valve cover and intake manifold. Its wrapped in custom molded insulation. HTH someone. Good video.

      Sorry my mistake, yes my 2006 is a 4.8, the 2002-2005 is a 4.4, 2006-2008 is a 4.8.

Hey man, 3/4 of this video is irrelevant to what most of us are trying to accomplish. We don’t need the engine cleaning education or we’d go to “engine cleaning” here on you tube. It’s almost like you like to hear yourself talk. Well we don’t. Not trying to be a jerk but I’m speaking facts
