As a father of 2 boys you were giving me anxiety by watching you get under that truck. Make sure to get yourself some 6 ton Jack stands under that thing. Bit of an overkill but rather safe than sorry.
Dude the real life talk made me subscribe, I know you're a new youtuber but that's 100% what goes through my head, all the dad talk and the out of body perspective lol. Good stuff I'm definitely gonna keep watching your videos
Dude, you made the right choice, i got my 05 LLY 2 years ago i did the headgaskets and even when they were bad this thing has NEVER left me stranded. I have nothing but good things to say about this truck.
You should be able to reset those readings on the dash with the steering wheel controls. It should be the arrow on the bottom right hand side, you hold that button down and it resets what’s popping up on the dash
“Your dad told you better and you didn’t listen to him” 😂 I felt that. Good for you for not following in the footsteps of anyone else’s dreams. It’s hard to do sometimes when you have family telling you they “know better”. Forge ahead and make your own path. Your ambitions are your own and they will take you places you didn’t even know existed. Subbed 👍🏻
Bro thats a good score for 6k. You can fiberglass in that bed corner if you want too, not a terrible project. Subscribed for the monologue mid video. Im 29 and dont have it all fogired out either you'll be fine. Keep working hard and you'll find a path.
I have a 2005 3500 dually Duracrap just like yours, but white and 250k. I change oil every 5k miles, and trans every 20k. Mine had a new tcase right before I bought it. I should check the diff fluids one of these days 😂
@ I agree, I just don’t wanna run them dry and burn anything up. One of these days I’ll check. Does your truck have a clunk when you let off the gas, coast for a second, and then get back on it? Mine feels like there’s play in the rear end. Don’t know if it’s normal or not. But hasn’t gotten worse in the last 30k miles that I’ve owned it.
@ a clunk from where? 🧐I don't believe so.. how'd you come to the conclusion it's the rear end lol, clunking when you press the gas could be a lot of stuff. Even something stupid like motor mounts
@ true. It’s just a guess. It feels like play in the rear end. A thud when you hit the gas after you let off and slow down a little. It doesn’t happen if I let off and back on without it decreasing in speed. Maybe a ujoint or something. It hasn’t gotten any worse, and it has new drivelines at 200k. I thought maybe it’s normal. But I’ve never heard anyone else say anything about it. So probably isn’t normal. I gotta diagnose the problem… 🤔 Anyway, really hoping to get mine to be high milage like yours. I think it’s really cool that high milage trucks are still rolling! Maybe a million some day. 😏 I think you got a really good deal. Mine was 11k and had alot of the same problems as yours. TONS of little stuff. Weird electrical bugs. And front end was shot. 🥴. Good find 🙌🙌
No clue how I got here, but wildly enough I just bought a 160k mile Duramax for 6k, Im far far up north so shes not nearly as clean but so far its a really really fun and good time and drive. minus the headlights. every GMC ive seen has the headlight issue you show lmfao
8:24 lol fr I bought a 20 yr old loaded cummins diesel one owner with 231k miles and me being 18yrs old and I’m restoring the heck out it. It has new interior and bunch of new parts including everything transmission. Now paint time and level kit. 18k into it lol but motor and injectors really really good
Subbed Great opening.. sound quality on point.. visual also great..identifiable personality...the way you explain every detail is good also ..keep it up and you'll grow this channel fast
Its more about the jack rolling out not have it fail. Sick purchase. Trying to score my first diesel looking at an 08 f350 crew cab 6.4L 4x4 160k miles have found several of them. Would like a dually but I’m not really down for replacing 6 tires, having to do 4 is bad enough. Use new oil not the old to lubricate the filter.
@@donc6781 The 6.4 was a transition while Ford figured out how to build their own Diesel not partnered with International which is how the 6.0 came to be. The 6.4 dealt with many of the issues that the 6.0 had while they were developing the 6.7. Since it was a transition engine it still has some issues but less so than the 6.0... Yes I would prefer a 7.3 or the 6.7 preferably the 7.3 but they are all decent engines and will last 200-300k miles with the manufacturers recommended maintenance and probably 2-3x that if you take meticulous care of it. I'm looking for something I can repair over time and make like new again, you can't really do that with a newer vehicle. So normal run of the mill wear isn't going to scare me away but not taking care of your ride with the proper maintenance or abusing it with stupid mods that just kill the life of your parts. The 6.0 and 6.4 have more haters because customers are dumb and don't read the instructions and they take it in to auto shops that also have no clue what they are doing with a diesel so they end up with more issues because it was quite a bit cheaper than the other options so they are much more of them on the road and since more dumb people own them you get a ton more issues. People love to tune their trucks spend $4-500 on a little gadget you plug in and then boom a free 50-150 HP, but what they don't realize is that the truck was designed and tested with thousands of tests under the stock configuration and once you change that stock configuration you throw the entire system out of whack and cut the life of your engine in half.
@ just a heads up brotha I grew up and was raised off these gmt800 trucks got one myself and plan on buying another dmax soon just built a single cab from 4.3 to 5.3 it’s a 01
great find. everything in that truck is basically brand new. all diesels have problems. duramaxes are by far the ones that run the most with the most abuse. the ac needs to be fixed its not even hard to redo the whole system and its only like 300 buck for everything from rock auto.
I apologize for some of the audio peaking especially at the start of the video, I am trying to figure this microphone out and get the best position I can put it in.
Im a ford guy over all but ill buy anything for a good price, id have bough this truck, 6k is good for a 3500 even with 400k on it the 6.6l isnt a bad engine like everything else it has its issues but nothing that cant be fixed. I have a 7.3l excursion with 367k on it and im always doijg something to it so get used to that 🤣🤣
Damn she’s long 😂😂 but honestly man 6k for a truck that sounds pretty well sorted, a diesel at that. Steal of a deal man way better than a payment on a new one
If the owner has a lot of information and or owned the vehicle awhile and always kept up with general maintenance that's a good sign. You want to make sure the vehicle hasn't been sitting for long periods of time and be especially cautious of the life of the drivetrain and its internals, you don't want to be the guy that's stuck with the 200k mile mark $$$ repairs, you want to be the guy that's buying a vehicle that's already had the major work done to it. It takes experience to know exactly what to look for as well as some general knowledge surrounding what vehicles are okay to buy higher miles.
As a father of 2 boys you were giving me anxiety by watching you get under that truck. Make sure to get yourself some 6 ton Jack stands under that thing. Bit of an overkill but rather safe than sorry.
Next time I'll grab a few. I know it's not a bright idea what I was doing
the truck was too tall to crush him with the tires on he was under it without the jack to begin with
As long as you got before the jack and all the wheels are on your good 👍 😊

They're just built like tanks it seems lol
Your dialogue is hilarious exactly what goes through my head doing this kinda stuff

The monologue while under the truck was so real. I get awfully philosophical when I'm down below 😂
It's like the whole vibe shifts when things go south. Start rethinking everything

That many clicks and the seat isn't trashed I am surprised.
I'd be amazed if they're original.
I really enjoyed the video bro. Keep them coming. You are a very talented.
I'm not going anywhere anytime soon. It means a lot that you enjoyed it.

Dude, do some research and stay far away from that 6.4 it will financially ruin you
@ what would you suggest? Don’t say 7.3… I’ve already been looking for months and have looked at a handful and walked away.
@@JustAverageJeff A 6.0 that has been bulletproofed and sorted out would be a better option

I love the Doug demuro “this” lmaoooo
This is a beautiful truck, even more so if it is an LBZ.
LLY 06-07 is lbz
@pancakeman7114 not all. Some 06 trucks are an LLY. The only way to know is to check the VIN number.
Make sure your grounds are good on everything cause that can make your cluster go nuts with messages
All the messages were accurate. So far none that come and go

Every day of my life
@Tonybottoms same
beautiful great job brother
Keep up the good work bro
I will 100%
You can get deals like this when you buy from a friend or family member. Normal people don't find screaming deals like this😂
I got a stroke of luck!!
Clean rig Shout out from St.petersburg FL 😂
Right around the corner, bro
@Tonybottoms were you at palm beach or miami 🤔

It's OK I seem to have a obsession with things that are broken
Wow, that thing's pretty clean for how many miles are on it.
Those are definitely new seats too
Most likely replaced at some point

Absolutely, I think $6000 is probably the price of getting the emissions deleted on a new diesel alone, lol. Old junk till I die
450000 miles is a little much. I know it's a diesel but still.
Now do one with that many miles from New England 😂 swiss cheese frame and all
What all do you have to delete on an 2005? I didnt think DPF filters happened until 07 and DEF at 2012-ish?????
05 had no DEF just EGR they're pretty easy to delete they make kits for it.
Not sure how I got here but I sub'd!

Badass truck
check your transfer case computer i see your 4wd buttons are not lit mine was the tcu
The transfer case motor encoder is removed from the vehicle. It went bad I have to replace it
The truck should be called the good the bad and the ugly
i think its awesome
Yo explain that buzzing noise you said was in the dash. Does it sound like radio static buzz?
Yes a buzzing/ whining noise

That truck would be 15 grand at a dealer here in Indiana and it would be rusted to death
Possibly chevys best body style, definitely better than the 08 to 2013 and the current gen.
The crew cab to boot? This man is now dangerous
Can it hotshot?
Maybe!
Good fucking goddamn thats a long fucking truck
What if I have a lot of groceries to get ????
Nope you should check on the check engine light

South FL East coast
