This is a game changer. I know model converters existed before, but never with this level of convenience and customization. Can't wait to try this out.
crazy for builders, i personally think this method for generating custom trees is HUGE no more custom tree dipository map file, now i can just import a tree model from ANY cg or 3d model asset and scale and convert into minecraft, that alone for me is BIG!
@@jordnchn7907I’m quite excited to make large custom statues aswell. I can sculpt really well in blender but my brain just can’t make organic things in minecraft 😅
This is incredible. I feel like you could recreate entire game worlds with this. It'd be amazing to see the world spaces of skyrim, oblivion, morrowind, or any game recreated in minecraft using this.
I've used vowel converters in the past for making minecraft builds from 3d files. I don't think they're quite suitable for that usecase, since to get a good amount of detail requires the buildings to be scaled too much -- and if you don't the buildings don't look great. For key megastructures though they are really good e.g. if you wanted to make the world from Elden Ring, converting the Erd tree to a blocky format would work well, but then for individual buildings that arnt massive a good minecraft player will always produce much better results making use if half slabs, stairs, and weird things like anvils, extinguished camp fires, and other non conventional blocks to give details.
Always tried to replicate morrowind stuff but didn’t knew how and gave up during terraforming, this surely would make it not only easier but make it look a lot better!
This addon is straight up incredible. I've been working on some Latios/Latias models in Blender for a while and always wanted to bring them into Minecraft! Glad to see it getting updates to make the translation from Blender to Minecraft even better
Bro, when I saw this cave structure generated in this somewhat random way, all I could think of was a maze. It would be awesome if you could generate entire dungeons randomly just with the effect of noise; with secret rooms and lurking mobs, just like in isekai RPGs and animes. Anyway, great project, I'll test it in the near future.
I dont play minecraft but your last structure just gave me the idea i needed to build the type of sci/fi weird scenes ive been wanting to do in blender for a while
this is crazy, i’m not a minecraft builder nor a blender guru but my first thought was on big servers who pays for minecraft builders to create their worlds, and with this people could easily expand their buildings and use mods like worldedit to put even more details into it, possibilities are just crazy
Hooo wow !!!! Thank you for that and for the hard work you done. Because i know nothing about blender i will just try to use a free 3d model and import it into minecraft for see how it's work with my existing world. 😅
Incredible! As someone who does not look blender this is gonna be incredibly usefull (still i think this will be very helpfull to ,mane people so nice)
holyshit I thought this was just to have a minecraft style aesthetic in blender but this would have been huge back in the day. If there are still mappers to this day they are gonna have a field day with it
As someone who has built on Minecraft for years i can see a lot of potential in this, I like to do recreations of classical architecture and while this won't create something to the quality I would want it could be used as a temporary guide or an alternative to using imported images. Just one question is there a limit to the size of the object that can be exported?
This is pretty nuts for game development also if you think about it because you essentially have the access to turn anything into your own voxelised model
The issue is a lot of people abuse this now to fake building things in survival... I wished people could just appreciate this for what it is and use it to make a map like a normal person...
I would want a feature that allows you to filter the blocks used in general and in certain areas. For example, the builds you showed as an example use a bunch of leaves and other blocks where I think it should just be grass.
@JoeyCarlino yeah, I envisioned a sort of falling animation. I lack the vocabulary, but each block falling one by one. But ok :). Thank you for responding!
There is a complicated way. You can convert the schematics to a command and put those into the nbt of an npc for a build button. Horion client users would spawn builds on realms this way.
