Great video, that was exactly what I was looking for. This was the first RUclips video I started with. You nailed it! I haven't started the project yet, I knew I needed more information before I started. Thanks
Thanks for posting this! I already changed my rear turn signals from amber to red, so I left out the diodes to make them tail lights as well as turn signals on purpose. Now I have more lights on both ends of the bike!
Thank you for making this, trying to get running lights on a three print trailer lights that only has brake, turn and ground. Now I can get running lights hooked up to the turn signal pin
Hey man great video and thank you for the info. Not to throw out your idea but I also found on my motorcycle if you ground the ground from your bike to metal and hook up both power to the red and black on you turn signal it also works. Well at least it did on my 85 magna.
Your video is informative but hard to see how you wired up the diodes. My LED’s have a red, yellow, black. Trying to hook them up to be running lights and blinkers. Explain how you wired these?
Holy shit finally an answer! Ive been looking to turn two marker lights into indicator ONLY lights on my mustang for weeks now. Too many people have told me it wont work, because of the three wire system going to a two wire light. Dont know why it didn't occur to me sooner to just connect the ground and the interrupter wire... Gotta give that a shot now.
First thanks for the video and taking the time to put it out. I have the same issue and ran into the same problems. So i fully understand, we are just adding the diodes? Or must we further augment our wireing harness? One of your answers ti a comment said the running lights being connected to the signal relay somehow? Thanks again.

I'm guessing all automotive are wired similar or should I say have the same functions. Hopefully it should work fingers crossed I only spent 5 bucks. Let me know thanks.
Could this idea be applied to a car by chance? It seems pretty simple if I figure out which wires do what. But how could I wire my front signals to stay on with my drl switch?
Hey I have a 76 Honda cb 360 should my turn signal lights be in the back constantly be on or should the be completely off except for when I use the signal
Hey mate just a question if you can help me out please that will be great on my Harley breakout 2018 it have ground and indicator wire only but the new amber light I’ve installed now it has three wires third one is for daylight running so at the moment daylight running function is not activated due to running light wire is missing. This is only in American Harley’s not in Australian Harley models. I did not realise that till last time I have installed the light after That I find out what’s the problem but hardly is charging me big money for that wire. if I use your idea can it Activate my daylight running function and suggestions please. Hi I'm having problem with the led brake lights for my truck with same problems I get side marker lights and no running lights just brake/turn lights wanted to tap the marker light to the turn/brake lights and your video is the only solution what type diodes did you use ,thanks

Dallie Shell look up diy top box led brake light. you will need a resistor on the the tail light side or you will only have a bright light. the resistor on the tail light side will make it a bit less bright
Wrap them individually so they wont short out. Diodes have to be able to handle 12 volts and need to be in proper orientation/correct flow. This will work KLR or anything that has lights. ~~matt
Great video! I do however have a question. I recently converted the running lights on my Sv1k by changing to amber bulbs and disconnecting bulbs from running light harness and splicing into side flashers. Id like to have them as running lights to by splicing negatives from both side and running harnesses and maybe doing this for both positives to the bulb. However, in the comments I noticed you said the running power is cut when flashers are activated... so being the running is a separate harness from the turn, its always on if the bike is on. Therefore, my question is: should I go for the relays or would this method work? Thanks!
@@chriss.3476 tbh no. Called in a friend (mechanic from Nissan), and we tinkered about with relays etc. In the end I scrapped the project. Relays kept clicking, and never got the desired effect unfortunately.

Great video but I'm having a hard time understanding how this is working. If you have constant power going to the "running light wire" when the running lights are on, how does another power source (the "signal light wire" ) make the light flash? I understand the diodes will only allow current to flow one way but that shouldn't stop the "running light wire" to stop sending power to the light to allow it to blink via interrupted power from the "signal light wire". I can see this working with the use of a relay but not just two diodes. Maybe you could shed some "light" on this mystery:^)
