Plok, Buster Busts Loose, Maui Mallard, Cool Spot... Ah, these are beloved games from my childhood. I'd love it if more people could experience them, thank you for making this :)
In Europe, the SNES and Mega Drive/Genesis version of Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow, it's called Donald in Maui Mallard. The PC version for some reason it was called Cold Shadow.
In my childhood my dad would usually end up getting me licensed games for SNES, so getting Ah Real Monsters was a breath of fresh air, even if it wasn't that great and I didn't make it far.
The moment you say its not to expensive you can find it for a good price is exactly the moment they raise it WTF i wish these sellers weren't subscribed to you lol. Thanks for the great content its always top notch👍👍👍👍
Inspector Gadget would be a good one to look into if you ever make another video on this topic. Others would be Chaos in the Windy City and Pitfall: the Mayan Adventure. Pardon me if you've covered these previously; it's hard to keep up.
There was only three Indiana Jones movies and sadly no sequels to The Matrix either, only rumored crappy fan movies. *Fingers in ears, la la la la laaaa* Great video as always!
Nice list, the console has a damn near endless list of platformers (by endless, I mean hundreds) that could receive a sequel video down the line, but this does wrap up a lot of the quality under the radar stuff!
Clicked because of Ahh! Real Monsters. I got the Sega Genesis game at Toys R Us back in the 90s. Completely forgot it existed. The school gym scene brought back memories. I wonder how different the SNES and Genesis versions are. IIRC it was roughly $30 even back then.
Ah, Factor Five. I know they were around making good games for a long time, including for the SNES (I only recently played Super Turrican and I like it quite a bit) but I will always remember them for their brilliance in programming the amazing Nitnendo64 game Rogue Squadron. Developers like Factor Five are somewhat of a rarity in the gaming industry (especially anymore with consoles being so complex and development tools obscuring the bare metal more and more). These guys would explore every aspect of the hardware to find ways around hardware limitations, sometimes even going as far as using bugs within the hardware effectively to produce results that were otherwise impossible. This is why their N64 games have been notoriously difficult to play via emulation (because the emulators were not accurate enough to emulate the bugs... not sure if this is still the case as I have not fired up an N64 emu recently).
When I used to own a SNES which I had one all the back in the 90's up until I sold it in 2012(I kind of regret that decision), I did own the Aahhh!!! Real Monsters! game as I was a fan of the show back in the 90s. I remember playing the Genesis version on Sega Channel, but then a decade later I found it at a now defunct local game store on the SNES. From what I remember, the SNES version was better, but both games were mostly pretty similar. I never got far on the Genesis version. I enjoyed Aahhh!!! Real Monsters! quite a lot. It's a pretty challenging game. My only issue with it was that you can't save. This isn't exactly a really short game and because of the difficulty of the game, saving would have been nice. But I enjoyed it all the way through and it was extremely satisfying when I beat the whole game.
I honestly don’t get how people hate aero the acrobat… the controls are hard because they’re supposed to be! It’s meant to be incredibly precise for a challenge. I’ve stayed up countless nights with friends/family taking turns trying to beat a level… so fun. So rewarding when you finally nail a stage!
Agree with Ardy Lightfoot and Cool Spot being good, although I feel the SNES version of Cool Spot is comparable to the Genesis version. The slightly zoomed in graphics are a fair trade-off for better music and color and it's 100% playable in this form. The rest of these games are a bit painful to play (yes, including Tiny Toon, dislike the run mechanics a lot), and Ghost Sweeper is one of the more popular imports which is why it's getting more expensive, so I wouldn't call it 'under the radar'.
loved plok growing up, used to do something to skip the whole first island, since I was sick of playing it over and over again. I thought you would of mentioned the Valis games, since those are a pretty neat platformer.
The best level in Plok is where you have to use your legs at the beginning to open a pathway. Then you have to hop through half the level on your torso to get them back.
What a heck are you talking about? When you were a kid nintendo was still into zap guns and electric car toys, while you were playing the hell out of frogger
Hey SNES drunk, there was a game I played as a kid that I believe was a platformer where you can transform into different animals; I remember one possibly being a wasp. I can’t remember which system it was on. I suspect SNES or Genesis. I’ve tried finding it for years with no luck... by chance do you know the title?
The Indiana Jones Game is great! While the music is a bit repetetive, the graphics are awesome and you have levels that are not platformers, so you have a lot of variety in the gameplay.
SNES Drunk! You must be younger than I thought if you never saw AHHH Real Monsters. I know the game wasn't as well known though. I do remember renting it on my 10th birthday though. I'm pretty sure we lost interest fast and went back to Yoshi's island lol.
You never watched Ahhh! Real Monsers?! Boy did you miss out. That show is great!
Agreed. Great show.
I could never get into that show.
Send him to the Gromble
Lol I know right? There teacher, the Grundel? Or something
@@TinyBluePuppies I understand that, the show was a trip and kinda disgusting (just like rocko ) lol
Plok, Buster Busts Loose, Maui Mallard, Cool Spot... Ah, these are beloved games from my childhood. I'd love it if more people could experience them, thank you for making this :)
Your SNES content is by far the best on RUclips. I've discovered so many obscure games for the SNES I'd never even heard of!
Thanks for this, SNES Drunk. I've always enjoyed platformers on the SNES and there was a lot here I wasn't aware of.
Plok is one of my favorite SNES games.
I have to admit I could Not get past the final vehicle marathon at the end until the days of save states.
@@goober69er yeah goober that bit was tough. I also never quite managed to complete it
holy shit, you outdid yourself with the 'SSSSSNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNNESDRUNK" intro to this one
Holy crap, I had seen my uncle playing Ardy Lightfoot and I had trying to find its name for the longest time! Thank you!
Thank you for watching
In Europe, the SNES and Mega Drive/Genesis version of Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow, it's called Donald in Maui Mallard. The PC version for some reason it was called Cold Shadow.
Love this channel. I can just search for almost anything snes related, however niche, and get EXACTLY what im looking for.
Great videos, man!
Thanks Antonio
Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow...it's easily a top ten favorite SNES game for me. So weird, yet so great in all aspects.
Plok is one of my favourite platformers on the SNES. Great art design, fantastic soundtrack and tonnes of fun. Great game.
In my childhood my dad would usually end up getting me licensed games for SNES, so getting Ah Real Monsters was a breath of fresh air, even if it wasn't that great and I didn't make it far.
I really enjoyed Maui mallard. it's a seriously good game. and from my understand the last licensed game released on the snes.
Maui Mallard was the one and only game that my mom ever has bought me ... she is so anti gaming but I love the game so mich
@@vel2118 Borderline abusive
Kid Yami what’s that? My mom?
@@vel2118 She couldn't have been that anti-gaming.
Maybe she just hated the japanese
The “hi there” at the beginning is so wholesome 🥺
The fourth Indiana Jones happened and unfortunately also a fifth one.
The moment you say its not to expensive you can find it for a good price is exactly the moment they raise it WTF i wish these sellers weren't subscribed to you lol. Thanks for the great content its always top notch👍👍👍👍
Holy crap i just realised i responded to a video from 2016 😁😁😁😁 that explains the price hike😂.
Wow, I had no idea there was a Ghost Sweeper Mikami SNES game. Definitely grabbing that. Thanks for the info!
Nobody every talks about Aero the Acrobat 2. Thank you for that.
Yeah, such a great underrated gem!
Aero 2 is so good
Love your channel :)
Yeah! Cold shadow! One of my favorites. Great soundtrack as well, one of the best on SNES!
I love Ghost Sweeper Mikami, it's a really good game!
I'd like to see any SNES channel talking about Maui Mallard in Cold Shadow, that's and underrated and obscure quality game
Come on man! No way Cool Spot is under the radar, that game was everywhere in the 90s!
Finally ahh real monsters! Loved this game as a kid
My god, Tiny toons. I played that quite a bit when i was young haha
Cool spot 😎
Inspector Gadget would be a good one to look into if you ever make another video on this topic. Others would be Chaos in the Windy City and Pitfall: the Mayan Adventure. Pardon me if you've covered these previously; it's hard to keep up.
He has, as of 6 years into the future
There was only three Indiana Jones movies and sadly no sequels to The Matrix either, only rumored crappy fan movies. *Fingers in ears, la la la la laaaa* Great video as always!
The Go Go Akuman series was really cool. I liked the short manga drawn by Toriyama
Nice list, the console has a damn near endless list of platformers (by endless, I mean hundreds) that could receive a sequel video down the line, but this does wrap up a lot of the quality under the radar stuff!
Every time you mention Cold Shadow in your videos, you get a like!
Cool spot is legit
Clicked because of Ahh! Real Monsters. I got the Sega Genesis game at Toys R Us back in the 90s. Completely forgot it existed. The school gym scene brought back memories. I wonder how different the SNES and Genesis versions are. IIRC it was roughly $30 even back then.
Out to Lunch, Alfred Chicken, Super Widget - those are under the radar ;)
I love Cold Shadow, my favorite game in childhood.
Need to revisit Aero and Ardy. Great list!
Can anyone tell me the name of the game he says at 5:03 between Psycho Dream and Magical Pop'n? I can't quite make it out.
Hello, I think it's Majyuuou aka King of Demons
Erik Furudi I think you're right. Many thanks :)
And all these games are double the price of what you had them listed 6 years ago
5:27 "No that's not Trunks" HOW DID YOU KNOW THAT WAS MY FIRST QUESTION? ARE YOU IN MY BRAIN? IF SO, SHOULD I FINISH THIS JAR OF PEANUTS OR NOT?
Haha same.
Love these videos...keep 'em coming
The fact that you also hate Indiana Jones and the KOTCS makes me love your channel and work even more....How is that even possible?
The music in Cool Spot is on point.
No Pitfall: The Mayan Adventure? I remember liking it a lot as a kid, not sure how it holds up now.
That tiny toons game is superb. Plok is brilliant too
I wonder if plok inspired rayman......
I thought that when I tried it.
Looks like it

you never saw aah! real monsters?? You're in your late 20s, yeah? That's wild to me, that show was everywhere
Mid 30s
7 years on... these prices have REALLY changed
Yeaaaa it's kinda scary to get into retro collecting these days 😲
I always remembered that "ah real monsters" game being kind of a lost vikings clone. Its been years since i've played it though.
I really LOVE the graphic style of Aaah, Real Monsters! (and of course, the cartoon) Soooo 90s!
that tiny toons game was one of my favorites growing up!!
I was thinking Trunks as soon as you said and no that's not Trunks lol

Another under the radar SNES platformer. (At least one I like) Kendo Rage
Drunk, you should really watch Ahhh, Real Monsters! It’s a great show.

I remember having the ahhh real monsters game growing up
Most of these games are more expensive now 😢
Real monsters was such a difficult game for me when I was younger
Any change of an under the radar list for other genres?
Loved Hook and Cool Spot when I was a kid.
What a heck are you talking about? When you were a kid nintendo was still into zap guns and electric car toys, while you were playing the hell out of frogger
Lol. So true!
Thanks 👍
Ardy lightfoot is a good game, remember playing it 3-4 years ago.
Yes there was a 4th Indiana Jones and it was no different than the others
Dude have you ever played REALM on Snes? Check it out, so good, run and gun, contra, gunstar heroes style, but in a forest.
I just saw a gameplay. That game is great and I didn't know about it so thanks for bringing it up.
Looks so good on my 36 inch crt! I also have HD retrovision COMPONENT cables for my snes too, and on that tv it is INSNE how good it loks! Everthing!
If anything Konami touch turns into gold then anything Akira Toriyama touch turn into Dragon Ball Z. :D
But there is Sand Land and Dr. Slump
You mean he turns it into the same dull shit over and over?
"Anything Konami touch turns into gold"?? Hah, good one!
Teo Test Back in the day, they were one of the best developers, especially for the SNES.
plok is fantastic. just listen to the music...
Plok is a great game and hella underrated. I really think people should check out the comics based on the game which is similarly underrated.
Good video. What do you think of the famicom game Ballbullet Gun?
PLOK!!!!! Lol that game was so fun and weird.
Can you please a do a video ranking your best snes platform games from start to finish. It would be very useful for viewers. Thank you
Ardy lightfoot is a mascot? From which company exactly?
Cool Spot is awesome! I don’t consider it under the radar, though
thought rocky rodent might be on this list
dont sound very drunk. i like your videos thanks
when you gonna do a vid on harleys humungous adventure? friggin loves those sprites in that game
Your wish has been granted
Ahh real monsters on sega I think was pretty cool. My small brain as a kid growing up didn’t make it past the first level.
I never beat the Tiny Tunes game as a kid... challenge accepted!
Buster Busts Loose is great.
How is that NOT Trunks?
Have you played flintstones treasure of Sierra madrock
What about B.O.B.?
I want that awesome Indiana Jones game. That was my favorite movie back in 2008 when I was just a 6 year old gamer
Ever heard of emulators? ;)
I damn sure remember the show and the game to be honest wasnt bad at all

omg I loved this game
I love Go Go Ackman
I should give Plok another go. Have the game, felt it was too kiddie and flash looking.
Good luck, it's a lot harder than it looks. No saves or passwords either!
I didn't know Trunks was an Ultra Instinct.
No Widget game? Did I just imagine that one as a kid?
SNES Drunk! You must be younger than I thought if you never saw AHHH Real Monsters. I know the game wasn't as well known though. I do remember renting it on my 10th birthday though. I'm pretty sure we lost interest fast and went back to Yoshi's island lol.
I am 36 and the only Nickelodeon I watched was Ren and Stimpy
