Here in Yellowknife Canada it was -46C last week with a wind-chill of -57, this evening it is -28 which is pretty average for here at this time of year....but at least it's a dry cold! lol
Sofia is normally cold in winter, as the climate there is contintental plus it is pretty high up on the foothill of a mountain. The average elevation is 500-600 m and more in some areas. It is among the capitals with the highest altitude in Europe. Most people are not aware of it.
A beautiful wee snippet guys I loved this. Coldest place I've been is Fort McMurray in Northern Alberta Canada. - 40 and colder with wind chill. It was beyond Baltic lol
wow, that makes sense, when I was born on Feb 25th 1986, Sofia was covered in 2m deep snow. Please give advice, are case numbers still on the rise? I know BG is not on the UK hotel quarantine list now. Do you reckon they will rise even further such that it will be on that list? I'm considering moving to BG!
Hi Pancho. Thanks for watching the vlog. Sofia is such a lovely city. Unfortunately case numbers are still on the rise and with restaurants set to re-open tomorrow I think this upward trend will continue. At the moment the countries on the English quarantine list seem to be ones with the more infectious strains so hopefully Bulgaria will stay off it. But honestly right now who knows?!
-28 in Latvia. But it was so beautiful as there was no wind. Had to duck in for a hot drink every 30 mins. Which then meant finding a toilet soon after. COLD BOGS! Never been so grateful for being a fella. Them Skechers did ye well. Must remember next time I'm up a snowy Munro to pack a pair Adidas Rom ;0)
That is madness. Hey Chris, I had the trusty Rom's on again the other day up a mountain. They were good up to a point, then they let me down. But I can't switch. Adidas all the way. :)
Right now it’s quite hard to get insurance to travel however there are some companies offering it. If you have an EHIC card that has not yet expired this can still be used although I’m not sure how much it really covers you for. Probably not a lot. If you’re EHIC card has expired you can apply for a GHIC card on the NHS website.
The whole of the Eastern block looks exactly the same, romantic, art deco and brutalist architecture and cheap bevvy. There's a rugged handsomeness to Slavic nations. ... and my first winter in Cz was minus 25 .. for three months
BEAUTIFUL!! Take care guys ✌️
Thanks R! We almost killed ourselves up a mountain yesterday but that’s for another vlog! 🤣
Ahhh! The snowy landscape does look so beautiful and romantic ❤
Hope all is going well out there xx
It really was Bal. Its was so quiet too. Hope everything is good with you.xx
Looks beautiful in the snow!
It really was Kate ❄️ More snow forecast for this week. The weather is mad. It was 17 degrees and sunny yesterday!

Jim, that is unreal. Our -7 feels balmy in comparison.LOL
What month was it? Cause we are going in this month on the 16th and im hoping i will encounter some snow ❄️ if we are lucky 🤞
January sees a decent amount of snow in Sofia as it is right next to the mountains.
It was January we were there. Pretty cold month. I would say snow would be inevitable

We weren’t aware of that actually. It was actually beautiful to see it covered in snow even if it was a bit chilly.

Hey Paul, oh my! Canada trumps a lot of places for freezing temperatures. That is insane! Coldest I experienced was Chicago. -16. My eyelashes froze:)
coldest: -27c at an outdoor ice hockey game in New England. the day I decided to move to somewhere hot. Which didn't last long at all.
Wow! That is cold. Can’t quite imagine that.🥶
Looking good❤️
