This was actually the first time they admitted their feelings for each other. But true to form the GH writers missed another golden opportunity to take their love for each other to the next level.
I wish the writers would go back to developing quality romances like this again. The people that like each other barely talk anymore. Their romances are so surface level because they no longer take the time to truly explore and develop the bond, Give them a solid foundation to build on..
One thing I always loved about Liason was how they always made the most of the times they were able to spend with each other when time was allowing them to be together. I think that’s also why I loved their secret relationship, because even though they thought that was the only way they could be together at the time, it was the years and no one else’s, and they cherished every moment they had to spend together. I love how Elizabeth said in this clip, “we may not have tomorrow, but we have tonight. “ and I all so loved how Jason said, “I want to be with you too. “

I think it's a travesty that there was so much potential with Jason and Liz and GH dropped the ball and now here in 2018 since Jason's return to GH it's back to Jason and Sam...zzzzzz. These scenes with jason and liz are so much more electric than anything jason and Sam had together.
steven j Patten Sorry to say no! Jason & Sam’s chemistry has been right from the beginning . They started out in a very different way, because Sam was in love with Sonny. So it was a hate relationship due to Carly his best friend. As he watched over and protected her for Sonny. The change started to draw closer due to the Nun putting him in charge of Sam & the baby. As time went on they became friends and each other’s protector slowly grew to love each other. Sam saw something special in Jason. Her love for him grew stronger unconditionally and it was forever. Sam love for Jason was being safe and a place call home.
I love how Elizabeth was able to get Jason to open up and talk about how he really felt. This makes me scream that the riders always kept messing this up. Both admitted they wanted each other and wanted to be with each other, and Elizabeth even admitted that she could deal with Jason always not coming home to her, and even in 0608, they still wanted to be together, but thought that they couldn’t because of the danger and at that point she had two boys. So finally, when they made love and 06, that was sexual tension that had been building for ever! That is how you right for a good soapy couple; the way GH is now, it’s unrecognizable to me.
When Elizabeth says I made a mistake, no Elizabeth the writers made a mistake.. because they messed up as many times as they could try to keep you guys apart... because I guess they thought or they didn’t think really...
They look so real and genuine. It's hard to believe they're just acting. If the writers would have let them have a chance..... These two could have had Luke and Laura's status super couple. Shame

They should have done so much more than kiss in this scene. I will never understand how any good writer could develop this much tension, Steve and Becky showing how hard this confession was with every little facial expression, the tone of their voices, and then NOT have them end up in bed together. It was poor, poor writing and a waste of a perfectly great romantic moment. These two bring the longing like no other pair can do. Jason & Liz should be together. Period.
This was the first time that they both opened up and told each other how they actually felt .This would have been the perfect moment for them to take it to the next phase.But after all that build up I was left disappointed with what could have been.

I tried to get behind Jason and Courtney but then she pissed me off too. I didn’t even like him with Sam at first but I stop rooting for them after Liz broke up with Jason for lying about Sonny’s death. Then the writers put her with Ric and I was really through. So Liasion fans they are or were fans of them but the writers kept driving them apart so much that we just gave up and let go.

What is it with people trying to make Jason’s loves a competition? He loved different women at different times in his life. One is not better than the others. They are just different. The difference with Jason is that he continued to love them even as the relationship ended. His love never turned to hate. And the women continued to love him even as they came to love other men. Yes. Yes they did. For years they played this game with these two characters. Also with the Jason and Elizabeth fan base. We were good enough to boost their ratings but, not good enough for them to write amazing storylines for them. Plus GH has spent a lot of time ripping up GH, and Jason/Elizabeth.
The writers and new producer of GH should read all the comments below! This scene was 10 years prior to Steve leaving yet the comments below still ring true. Don't mean to sound mean here but come on guys, really good writers could keep a couple together yet not boring. Take it as a challenge to see what can be done with a great couple madly in love for 16 years. Earn your pay.

I feel sorry for Jason. He had to put up listening about Lucky forever, then Zander comes into her life. He's been there for Elizabeth the whole time, and she's with Zander. He is guarding his heart.
As crazy as some storylines are on soaps, mob enforcers swimming out to boats doing reconnaisance, getting barely shot, coming home to a loving young lady who's been kidnapped because of the enforcer and accidentally shot...... These two are so realistic in their conversations and have such a chemistry, connection, I've never loved a soap couple like these two and I'm sure I never will again. Steve Burtons leaving GH and it will be the end of the best couple ever in daytime..
And be honest with you...this is what happened. Jason did not tell her the truth or trust her with the truth about Sonny. He should have after all the times she was there for him too. And the girl can keep some pretty big secrets!
Finally Jason admits the truth, it's not so much about protecting Liz ' s life it's more about protecting his heart. He fears the day when Liz won't look at him the same. When even the love she feels won't keep her from hating him for what he does. And Liz in her naivety thinking she can really handle the reality of living with the mob. These two are a prime example of love is blind. When u love someone there is nothing u won't convince urself u can accept and live with, but one day u wake up and realize that love isn't always enough. Liz tries to separate Jason from the man he is, from what he does. She's too young to understand that they are one and the same. Jason's experience with Robin taught him that a relationship like that never works out. Robin loved him the same way and it ruined there love in the end. There will always come a day when he does something that the person he loves can't live with. These writers just kept creating these moments just to throw it all away on nothing. Jason kills people but lying about Sonny's death was unforgiveable. Yeah whatever, that made sense. He told her multiple times that there were things he couldn't tell her and she claimed she could handle it and then lo and behold she couldn't. Pointless storyline. Just stop dredging up this damned romance. If they are never going to truly be together then just stop it. Even in the end when Steve was almost out of the show u could see that the chemistry between them had waned. I think even they didn't believe in Liason anymore.
ShaGirl Penny. I will always root for Liason. I hate how the writers do not honor character's history or show growth in characters though. They obviously want Jason and Liz as the forever star-crossed lovers. They still have the chemistry, I just hope the writers honor their long history and deep love for each other and give them a fighting chance. They each bring out the best in each other. He brings out Liz's strong, feisty brave side, and she brings out Jason's soft, tender loving side. They are truly end game and even if the writers keep putting them with others ( it's a soap, so count on that) we know, he still will always long for her as she longs for him. Whoever they are with will be second in their hearts, as Jason and Liz are first in each other's hearts.
You can love someone. Care about them deeply. Wish things were different so you COULD be happy together. You can do all of that...feel all of that in a very genuine way...and still know, without a doubt, that you’re NOT truly meant to be together. Carly once said to Jason about Elizabeth (back during the 2007/08 storyline)... “You are fundamentally different people. What scares her the most is what keeps you alive.” And I feel that Carly hit the nail on the head. It was never a question of do Elizabeth and Jason love each other...it was ALWAYS about the FACT that the two of them were not compatible. In order for them to be together HAPPILY, either Jason would have had to give up the mob and become a safer more stable person or Elizabeth would of had to become someone with much harder edges like Carly or Sam. And the fact is that 1. Neither of them was ever really WILLING to do that for the other. And 2. Even if one of them would have been willing to make that kind of change, the relationship would have failed anyway. Because you can not change or deny WHO YOU REALLY ARE just to make someone else happy. Eventually you come to resent the person who you’re trying to please. And the relationship falls apart. The reason Jason eventually fell in love with Sam was because with her he could be himself completely. Sam loved and excepted every part of Jason and every part of his world. She fit into his life without judging him or expecting him to change. She felt comfortable living that life and she accepted the danger that went along with it. She was loyal and devoted to Jason and she loved him unconditionally. She wasn’t just his lover...she was his friend and his partner. They trusted each other. And although Jason had loved Robin, Carly, Courtney and Elizabeth through the years (and they loved him back)...none of them were able to give him what Sam did. (With Carly it was only because her heart belonged to Sonny. She couldn’t change that.) With Sam, Jason finally found a soulmate. I’m not sure who Elizabeth’s soulmate really is...but I’d like to think it’s Lucky. Hopefully one day he will return to PC and the two of them will have grown and matured enough to be together without hurting each other.

Robin said it, when she told Jason she knew there was someone out there for him , but it took longer than she thought it would, on his wedding day with Sam. Really Sam is the only women to really be his true bride. Brenda was to help her medically never lived as husband & wife. Jason and Courtney wasn’t really married because of AJ ‘s false papers of their divorce. Sam is the first to except him as he is. His work and all with no change and she will except whatever he decides for himself. Nope.....they are not end game love or even true love at all. He is only with her because she is a risk taker like him and since he does not love her as much as Liz, it would not hurt him devastatingly if she left. He needs company, so she is convenient. Look how he is now ...he is fine without Sam. Liz , he said he could not take her leaving him, it would devastate him. Liason are true soulmates. Jasam is just convenience and safer for Jason's heart. I still think the writers were very unrealistic EVER putting Jasam together again after what she did and him threatening to kill her. THAT was the end of their reelationship in any way. Plus, they have ZERO chemistry, while Liason has it in spades.

It can't be true love when the person you are with does not accept you for who you are and what you do. That has always being the case with Elizabeth. She has never being able to accept nor understand Jason for who he was and what he did. So, their so called relationship never had a chance to evolve because of her self-righteousness and sanctimonious attitude. Nevermind the fact that she could never stand by him nor stopped being so fickle in regards to her own feelings and intentions towards Jason. Furthermore, after everything was said and done Elizabeth proved to be a liar, a manipulator, a deceitful and an extremely judgmental person that would stop at nothing to obtain whatever she wanted through any means necessary. Funny thing, she had nothing on Carly or Sam because after all they both always were true to themselves and own up to whatever they did. But that has not always been the case when it comes to Elizabeth because she loves to play the victim and she can't be herself without being with a man. Where is the KISS? I don't understand how they can have this momentous conversation where both finally admit their true feelings & the night doesn't end with a kiss? Not to mention that they 'break up' a mere one month later! Did the writers have their heads up their asses?
Yes. Yes they did. For years they played this game with these two characters. Also with the Jason and Elizabeth fan base. We were good enough to boost their ratings but, not good enough for them to write amazing storylines for them. Plus GH has spent a lot of time ripping up GH, and Jason/Elizabeth.
The writers and new producer of GH should read all the comments below! This scene was 10 years prior to Steve leaving yet the comments below still ring true. Don't mean to sound mean here but come on guys, really good writers could keep a couple together yet not boring. Take it as a challenge to see what can be done with a great couple madly in love for 16 years. Earn your pay.

Their chemistry is amazing. The way Jason looks at her especially during their bullshit “relationship” in 2006-2008 is even amazing! I hope eventually they will be able to explore a relationship with these two bc Jasam has had enough years of being together and it’s boring now. Give Liason a real frickin chance for once!

As crazy as some storylines are on soaps, mob enforcers swimming out to boats doing reconnaisance, getting barely shot, coming home to a loving young lady who's been kidnapped because of the enforcer and accidentally shot...... These two are so realistic in their conversations and have such a chemistry, connection, I've never loved a soap couple like these two and I'm sure I never will again. Steve Burtons leaving GH and it will be the end of the best couple ever in daytime..

Finally Jason admits the truth, it's not so much about protecting Liz ' s life it's more about protecting his heart. He fears the day when Liz won't look at him the same. When even the love she feels won't keep her from hating him for what he does. And Liz in her naivety thinking she can really handle the reality of living with the mob. These two are a prime example of love is blind. When u love someone there is nothing u won't convince urself u can accept and live with, but one day u wake up and realize that love isn't always enough. Liz tries to separate Jason from the man he is, from what he does. She's too young to understand that they are one and the same. Jason's experience with Robin taught him that a relationship like that never works out. Robin loved him the same way and it ruined there love in the end. There will always come a day when he does something that the person he loves can't live with. These writers just kept creating these moments just to throw it all away on nothing. Jason kills people but lying about Sonny's death was unforgiveable. Yeah whatever, that made sense. He told her multiple times that there were things he couldn't tell her and she claimed she could handle it and then lo and behold she couldn't. Pointless storyline. Just stop dredging up this damned romance. If they are never going to truly be together then just stop it. Even in the end when Steve was almost out of the show u could see that the chemistry between them had waned. I think even they didn't believe in Liason anymore.

ShaGirl Penny. I will always root for Liason. I hate how the writers do not honor character's history or show growth in characters though. They obviously want Jason and Liz as the forever star-crossed lovers. They still have the chemistry, I just hope the writers honor their long history and deep love for each other and give them a fighting chance. They each bring out the best in each other. He brings out Liz's strong, feisty brave side, and she brings out Jason's soft, tender loving side. They are truly end game and even if the writers keep putting them with others ( it's a soap, so count on that) we know, he still will always long for her as she longs for him. Whoever they are with will be second in their hearts, as Jason and Liz are first in each other's hearts.
You can love someone. Care about them deeply. Wish things were different so you COULD be happy together. You can do all of that...feel all of that in a very genuine way...and still know, without a doubt, that you’re NOT truly meant to be together. Carly once said to Jason about Elizabeth (back during the 2007/08 storyline)... “You are fundamentally different people. What scares her the most is what keeps you alive.” And I feel that Carly hit the nail on the head. It was never a question of do Elizabeth and Jason love each other...it was ALWAYS about the FACT that the two of them were not compatible. In order for them to be together HAPPILY, either Jason would have had to give up the mob and become a safer more stable person or Elizabeth would of had to become someone with much harder edges like Carly or Sam. And the fact is that 1. Neither of them was ever really WILLING to do that for the other. And 2. Even if one of them would have been willing to make that kind of change, the relationship would have failed anyway. Because you can not change or deny WHO YOU REALLY ARE just to make someone else happy. Eventually you come to resent the person who you’re trying to please. And the relationship falls apart. The reason Jason eventually fell in love with Sam was because with her he could be himself completely. Sam loved and excepted every part of Jason and every part of his world. She fit into his life without judging him or expecting him to change. She felt comfortable living that life and she accepted the danger that went along with it. She was loyal and devoted to Jason and she loved him unconditionally. She wasn’t just his lover...she was his friend and his partner. They trusted each other. And although Jason had loved Robin, Carly, Courtney and Elizabeth through the years (and they loved him back)...none of them were able to give him what Sam did. (With Carly it was only because her heart belonged to Sonny. She couldn’t change that.) With Sam, Jason finally found a soulmate. I’m not sure who Elizabeth’s soulmate really is...but I’d like to think it’s Lucky. Hopefully one day he will return to PC and the two of them will have grown and matured enough to be together without hurting each other.

Robin said it, when she told Jason she knew there was someone out there for him , but it took longer than she thought it would, on his wedding day with Sam. Really Sam is the only women to really be his true bride. Brenda was to help her medically never lived as husband & wife. Jason and Courtney wasn’t really married because of AJ ‘s false papers of their divorce. Sam is the first to except him as he is. His work and all with no change and she will except whatever he decides for himself. (Memory loss). 2009 Jason (quote whatever you feel and is right just tell me. .. being honest (both) Jason said it is going to be better than ok. Sam is Jason’s ❤️only True Love. Rosa Dinkins Sam watched Jake get kidnapoed and said nothing for months, and she paid thugs to scare Liz and her kids, and Jason threatened to kill Sam when he confronted Sam. Nope.....they are not end game love or even true love at all. He is only with her because she is a risk taker like him and since he does not love her as much as Liz, it would not hurt him devastatingly if she left. He needs company, so she is convenient. Look how he is now ...he is fine without Sam. Liz , he said he could not take her leaving him, it would devastate him. Liason are true soulmates. Jasam is just convenience and safer for Jason's heart. I still think the writers were very unrealistic EVER putting Jasam together again after what she did and him threatening to kill her. THAT was the end of their reelationship in any way. Plus, they have ZERO chemistry, while Liason has it in spades.

I liked liz,Jason a lot they had lots of chemistry,emotions,face expressions, looks they had the it factor,electricity,intensity and more in every scene they have had through the years of gh liz,Jason really cared,loved each other so much and always showed it to one another in one way or another and more.

It can't be true love when the person you are with does not accept you for who you are and what you do. That has always being the case with Elizabeth. She has never being able to accept nor understand Jason for who he was and what he did. So, their so called relationship never had a chance to evolve because of her self-righteousness and sanctimonious attitude. Nevermind the fact that she could never stand by him nor stopped being so fickle in regards to her own feelings and intentions towards Jason. Furthermore, after everything was said and done Elizabeth proved to be a liar, a manipulator, a deceitful and an extremely judgmental person that would stop at nothing to obtain whatever she wanted through any means necessary. Funny thing, she had nothing on Carly or Sam because after all they both always were true to themselves and own up to whatever they did. But that has not always been the case when it comes to Elizabeth because she loves to play the victim and she can't be herself without being with a man. Being with a man has defined Elizabeth as woman and as a person. For, any relationship between Jason and Elizabeth would have never worked and the truth of the matter was that they both have always known that.

Having great sex does not mean your in love. Can anybody tell me when were they ever a real couple. And I mean something more than sex. Like seeing out together, not just us seeing them in the heat of passion. She was never ride or die like Sam. Liz was and will always just be a friend with benefits with Jason.
Liz and Jason could have been together a long time ago but the writer did not want them together they choose not to write for them as a couple

Everyone's life is different that's why we have to aĺow the writers to do what they feel. Love stories are the most difficult to create there are too many emotions to NM explore before putting them on pen and paper. I listen to Steve speak about Becky they could put their all ino playing off each other because they were friends if you look at some of their scenes from a clinical point of view you would see the almost invisible smiles..each time I caught one I too would smile because they were saying in their minds this is so much crap
