    I signed up for an account with Republic services in Sacramento for $75 dollars a month for a small dumpster at my business. 1 month later they sent me a bill for an Organic waste container that I never ordered. I called them immediately to try to resolve the situation and they refuse to return my calls after 4 attempts now. They keep sending me bills and tell me I'm delinquent. I was told that my account representative would call me. When I contacted them again they said the account representative tried to contact me with no response. This was a complete lie because I always answer my phone and can see missed calls. I also have voice mail and there was no messages. This is yet another corporation who feels so empowered that they can just steel money from people.

      Before this organic waste recycling mandate on apartment buildings was imposed, people were allowed to throw their food scraps into the dumpster only when they are sealed tight in plastic bags to avoid creating an unhygienic mess and stinky smell in the dumpster. However, residents are now forbidden to seal the food scraps in plastic bags when dumping the food scraps into the organic waste recycling bin. Not only that it will create a stinky mess in the bin which will foul up the air every time the bin is opened, it will also create a health hazard especially during the summer time when harmful germs would grow rapidly inside the bin.

      It only makes sense to impose mandatory recycling of food scraps and other organic waste from places like restaurants, hotels, food processing plants, canteens, catering services, etc., where large amount of food scraps or organic wastes are produced.

      @simon6071 Год назад

      Imposing mandatory recycling of food scraps on households would create not only unhygienic and unhealthy conditions, the fertilizer created from the household food scraps has the danger of being contaminated by toxic substances, such as expired medications, illegal drugs, food with carcinogens, spoiled food with toxins from bacteria, etc., which may be thrown unintentionally or intentionally by people into the organic waste recycling bin. It is virtually impossible to prevent that dangerous situation from happening because unlike mass recycling facilities, there is no oversight to what individual households will put in the organic waste recycling bin.

      The mandatory recycling of food scraps from households for creating fertilizer for farms will likely end up to be a failure including causing irreparable harm to farmlands if the politicians insist on this foolish and dangerous idea. Even though Al Gore's predictions of catastrophic global warming due to the so-called green house gases have all failed, leftist politicians are still using the same or similar fear mongering scheme to impose stupid agendas that often have negative results instead of positive ones. The freezing to death of a large number of people in power outages in severe cold winters due to the banning of fossil fuel power plants is another example of the harm caused by stupid polices supposed to do good.

      The leftist politicians should stop worrying about global warming. The should worry about farmlands going to be contaminated under the stupid policy of collecting household food scraps with no safeguard against toxic substances for creating fertilizer instead.

    "What do you put in the green bin? " landscaping waste, wood, paper, CARPET, textiles, other organic wastes. On what planet is carpet an "organic waste"?????? We need a clarification here.

    • @DavidDLee
      @DavidDLee 2 года назад +4

      Some types of carpet are made from plants, which can be recycled, but some are plastics from good ol' Dino oil, which cannot

    De mal en peor vamos
    Edit
    Over ninety percent of all of the carpet made today is made up of synthetic fiber. The rest is natural fiber, most commonly wool. First, let's look at the most common synthetic fibers. Synthetic fibers are usually made up of one of three materials: nylon, polypropylene or polyester.

    Looked for new instructions for composting, found nothing.
    It seems nobody is doing anything different currently.

      More hands 🙌🏼 means lighter work. It’s our waste from our own households so I think we can all do our part.

    So it's "ONE SIZE FITS ALL"??????? We're in Joshua Tree, CA (the Friggin Mojave Desert). Our County will give permits to self haulers for completion of the "green waste' twenty miles to our East. We're required to do this twelve times a year which means 480 needless miles. This may work for urban communities but not OUT here in our desert. Our County blew it in the mitigations for this CA law.

    Hi, I would like to bring back a can for “garbage”, and by that I mean - I have a chicken bone, a tissue and a broken keyboard in my hands, I want to be able to toss all my “garbage” into a single “garbage can” and I would like no fines for this monthly service. Thank you. MAGA. No organic material in the landfill? When I was growing up the goal for landfills was that someday they only consist of organic, decomposing materials…. We are moving the complete opposite direction of environmentally friendly
