Back in the 60's my aunt was in a serious car wreck, from which she was not expected to live. Traditional medicine seemed to be making things worse for her, so she started researching natural foods and healing. Today she is in her mid-80's, independent, and has taught us all the value of listening to our bodies, doing our own research, and helping our bodies to heal themselves. I've been eating whole, orgainc foods and using herbal remedies (although thankfully my health is good enough that I've not needed much by way of herbs) since I've been an independent adult. I'll be 70 myself next year and feel like I'm in my 40's. People never take me for a 70 year old. If we take good care of our bodies they will reward us in so many wonderful ways.
Can I quote you - "listening to our bodies, doing our own research....eating whole, organic foods and using herbal remedies..." - simple actions to keep our bodies healthy xx
I'm sitting here, watching and listening, nodding my head 'yes' the whole way through. I do agree with your philosophy and outlook on herbal medicine, etc. Thanks for your channel! I'm sure people that watch your videos do feel empowered from what you teach us. Watching this video, seeing how your garden is growing already, gives me hope as to what I know will come to be here in a few weeks. What a lovely time of year, springtime, out in the garden listening to the birds, watching things turn green. Have a magnificent spring!
It is truly joyous to see the buds opening on the trees and the perennial plants returning. Very uplifting - I think maybe the colour green affects us on some deep, deep level. Hope your spring is magnificent too xx
I cured cancer in 2014 with chaga and since then, I been looking in other things. Now I have dandelion roots and flowers that I drink every day, I also pick raspberry leaves for teas. I am looking for new things to cure myself of all kinds of things but also to be healthier. I know God put everything we need out in nature and we don't need the fake pharmacie's so called remedies that only makes us sick. Looking forward to watching all your videos.
My son is 19 now, whenever he gets the sniffles, he still asks for the lemon, ginger, and honey tea I made for him when he was a child. Best regards from Trøndelag County in Norway.
When I was a child there was a blizzard! My mom had to stay in town with a friend. I got sick! My fever was over 104 F.. There was no way to get me to a hospital! My father put me in cool bath. Got me in a nightgown, and made a hot toddy! Local honey, tea, lemon, and a shot of whiskey! He broke my fever! To this day people tell me he shouldn't have ever given me whiskey! He saved my life! It was the blizzard of 1978 in the USA.
Thanks for your positive message 🎉 I totally agree. I just found your channel a month ago and have already made our own shampoo, hair rinse, toothpaste and have the dandelion tincture and salve bubbling along! We live in a city but I have managed to find fresh herbs and flowers all around me - sometimes we forget to look and see the treasures around us. Thanks to your husband's music and filming and of course those sweet dogs ❤
I've spent the last several days planting out my garden. I'll be growing lots of herbs and mints, as well as veggies. Mint teas are so refreshing after a day's work and food tastes better with herbs added. It's felt so good to be outside in the sunshine 'playing' in the dirt. There are two hummingbirds frequenting my feeders now and several bees checking out their new 'grocery store' in my yard. Hopefully I'll have lots of flowers blooming soon to keep them all happy. Thank you for another wonderful and informative video.
You’ve inspired me so much over the past few months that I’ve now started working at a nursery and I work in nature every day and I’m so much happier for it. Learning about plants every day!
I’m a strong believer in the power of herbs. I raised my children using herbs and no doctors and they are still healthy to this day. They are in their mid to upper 30s.
Good morning Terri, what lovely weather your having, in between showers, your common sense videos are always full of information, put across in easy practical ways to follow . Always a pleasure to listen to a knowledgeable practitioner. Thank you . Hugs and Blessings 💚🌹
Thank you Terri! I discovered red clover and yarrow while walking my dogs. I was SO surprised to later learn how Indigenous peoples used these two - and raspberry leaf! So wonderful as a tea for little humans with stuffed up 1noses. With honey of course! Simple often overlooked plants but wonderful!
Key word: empowerment!! I was in tears - happy tears - watching your video because this is exactly what I endeavour to achieve. My turning point: the death of my husband, and I becoming a single mom to three young children, a pandemic, interrupted food chains, and a shortage of basic pharmaceutical medicines for children. I’m a Registered Nurse….but I’m looking more or more to my garden and Mother Nature for my medicinal needs, basic food supply, and the ability to care and nurture my health and body and that of my childrens without worry of added chemicals or carcinogens, without the worry of shortages, etc. My garden is in its infancy - with an orchard, many different variety of berry bushes, herbs, forsythia, lilacs, perennial veggies, etc - as is my knowledge of gardening. But this year, after watching many of your videos (and videos from other sources) on various subjects, i feel much more empowered to try and learn new things including raising chickens, making tinctures, and perhaps my own skin products. This empowerment will also be coupled with slowly empowering my own children with the knowledge and experience of how to use what we grow and what Mother Nature provides to benefit our own health, body, and soul. Thank you again for all that you do!! Respectfully, Rena South Shore of Nova Scotia Canada ❤️❤️❤️🇨🇦
My condolences on the loss of your husband. it cannot be easy for you with three young children but you are amazing in the way you have responded to all the challenges and the example you are setting for your children is priceless. Wishing you the very best xx
Have just recently discovered your channel and I thank the Universe for it! Love listening to you, love your topics, love the music, love your animals - they look so happy! Every viewing is a breath of fresh air and a peaceful moment spent with you! I had to thank you Terri for all this!
🥰Some people think medications heal us, but the body heals itself. Some help from the lovely plants around us can be supportive, but regardless, it is the body itself that heals itself. Thank you for your videos 😊
I'm part of the crowd that has subscribed to your channel in the last few months and I'm very much inspired. I live in Vancouver BC Canada and am trying to grow my knowledge of new herbs "weeds" to me. I just recently foraged a bunch of horsetail and now drying them. Thankyou for all of your wonderful video's.
💙 Thank you Terry, for being here for us. 😁 Yes, the basics ARE needed. People seem to be wary of new things. Fear of mistake? However, going slow, & early trials, is good. 😁 💙
Beautiful video, Terri. I hope it inspires your viewers the way I was inspired when I first started following you. Herbs and your teachings, esp the Hawthorne Academy of Herbalism course have really empowered me, supported me and my family and changed my life in such a positive way. My pups and I look forward to quiet time together over tea watching your videos every morning. Thank you for the time and thought you put into your videos every week.
I have been having great fun preparing my herbs and weeds. I have 2 different tinctures brewing away in the cat food cupboard (so I remember to shake them), 2 different oils on my sunniest windowledge, 2 jars infusing in apple cider vinegar in the bathroom cupboard and a box of supplies to make my salves, face cream, washing liquid and soap. I haven't been this excited in years! Thanks, Terri, for your inspiration and infectious enthusiasm x
Thank you so much for sharing so much of yourself so beautifully. It has simplified what has felt so overwhelming to me, but have had such a deep desire to pursue and connect with the plants and the healing path. I love your channel and your approach and outlook ❤️
Thanks for the advice. I’m in the usa(Ohio). I watched your dandelion video for tincture. Anyways I made a dandelion tincture this week from the simple advice u gave. In 6 weeks it will be ready! Thank u
I have been collecting herbs for 3 or 4 years. In the beginning I could hardly remember the herb's names but now whenever I am out in the nature, I can identify so many plants and I feel joy and love for the gifts of mother earth. I like to experiment and this is something which I never get bored of. Ifound your channel a few days ago and from my perspective I can tell you that you encourage me to stay on the track. Thank you so much.
Today I spotted 3 ladybugs on my mint plant, I whas so happy with that. (I can be so happy for these little things :o)) I love herbs alot and this year I would like to plant chamomille, oregano, basil, lavender, thyme, sage and rosemary. I drink herbal teas everyday, all day long.
Thank you, Terri. Especially your mention about being in situations where foraging is not a simple go outside and do it...The longing and sense of loss around this itself is a medicinal/healing message for us. And even when we cannot "eat" our local weeds, we can be near them, appreciate them, etc.

I've just recently found your channel. As someone who loves nature and plants. Who has become interested in Herbal medicine. You're inspiring and very educational. I appreciate all you do. I also love your philosphy.
It was never done for the man, when he was a child. He has no idea where to go for help; but, he is trying. I love your beautiful, dark gray, knit jacket. Did you knit it yourself? Your garden is beautiful.
Thank you again Terri. I look forward to getting up Sunday mornings to watch your videos. Thank you to your husband for the background music and video footage.
I admire you Terri. Your videos are very informative and you speak well and don't ramble, it's very enjoyable. I love the scenery where you live. I'll see you next week. thank you.

What a lovely thing to say, I agree with you. I feel like I've found a treasure in amongst my music vids.. (also she reminds me of my beautiful mother.. 😊
Thank you Terri for sharing your wisdom. I’m enjoying the empowerment you have awakened in me. I’m happy healthy, feel blessed and am grateful for everything my garden offers. Yesterday my little Norwich Terrier was bitten by a bull ant.🐜. I’m from Australia . Their sting is extremely strong and painful. Dusty cried , l carried her home, gave her Rescue Remedy flower essence, respectfully cut two plantain leaves, made a spit poultice and held it on her paw for 10 minutes. She stopped crying when the Rescue Remedy kicked in, the plantain drew out the poison and she was tearing around like a Looney Tune after 20 minutes. Thank you Terri from Dusty (named after Dusty Springfield) and me. You know my eyes popped when l checked out your clothes. I have exactly the same scarf, same green cardigan which is made in Ireland…. and your skirt fabric l had in my teens . I’m 73. 🙀💚🧡from Down Under
Love your videos ❤ thank you so much for sharing because I am 34 and all I have ever wanted is for humanity to become in love with nature's medicines.. you truly are beautiful in and out! You are so inspirational ❤️
This is a wonderful video! Thank you. I stumbled upon your channel and subscribed immediately. I live in the Carolina's (US) and was planting new blueberry bushes and I immediately inspected my yard of dandelions. I sectioned them off so that my husband would not mow them over. I am making my own tincture, and hope I do this right. 😊 thank you again, your knowledge of these herbs and their medicinal values, as well as their environmental sustainability is so inspiring and helpful. I am now learning, while reaching outside of my boundaries. 💚
If it wasn't for what I have learned from you and been inspired to reconnect to nature, I would be in serious health decline if even here. I have been able to reverse everything so far except Hashimoto's and I am studying to do that and not just treat the symptoms of hypothyroid. You have given me hope and so much more.
Delighted to hear that. So glad I have inspired you but you must take credit for your own improvements and well being. Congratulations for recovering your health and studying and researching. You are an inspiration xx
Beautiful video Terry. I love the colours of late Spring in the country. Your dress gorgeous. The filming and music is very Irish. I found two new edible weeds last week, red nettle and Jack by the hedge (garlic mustard) love them. I found a huge batch of comfrey also and have taken a few roots to grow myself. I made a salve and am using it on my stiff toe.Take care and watch out for the Big Boys
Thank you so much, Terri. Your information, wisdom, and teaching are always accompanied with good sense and logic. I've learned so much over the past few years by following you.
How I wish I was there among the green and flowers. So grey cold and no green here at the moment in Alberta Canada. Your self your gardens and your dogs bring me joy. 🤗
Fabulous video Terri I watched this when I got back from my allotment…… I felt a bit tired but it was a healthy tiredness and I also felt that whilst working my plot I was working with nature. I am a naturopathic nutritionist so what I eat is important to me and helps keep me healthy but I’m now wanting to learn more about herbalism so will be looking at the courses you offer. Thank you for your weekly reminders❤😊
That kind of tiredness is a luxury. It must be terrible to be tired after having done nothing. Working your plot is working with Nature so food for the soul. If you have any questions about the courses, give me a shout via email. xx
Hello terri ,its so uplifting to see al the greenery and new greenery sprouting out, your garden s.they look so beautiful and comforting, goodmorning to mr cockeral I here too..and hello to t h e girls. Spring time flowers everything on its way again just as should be,😊thankyou. Bye for now. Xxxx
Syncronycity... This empowering video came in a proper moment for me, it seems made for my problem, for my fears and lack of self confidence, not only in what concerns my self healing capacities, but even in my naturopathic knowledges... So THANK YOU, Terry, for all your videos! I am a new follower of your channel, I appreciate very muck your videos - I've subscribed - I wish you the best positive energies! I great hug from Italy, Verona!
Hello and welcome Ella - glad you are here.. Perhaps you have a touch of imposter syndrome? Don't listen to that voice, be you and shine! You are great at what you do xx
I’m so excited! Our weather has finally broken & my dandelions are popping up all over! 😊 off to making some oil for salve! It’ll be like an Easter Egg hunt! Lol …Have a great week Terri!
I do feel inspired by you Terri, and I do feel empowered to explore wild plants more recently. Thank you. And you stay well too. You are a breath of fresh air xxx No need to reply, Louise Martin aka Billy Pavlov (my Dog is Billy Pavlov).
You have such a welcoming presence- I’m glad your channel found me. I feel like I have found a kindred spirit across the “pond”. Look forward to learning from you. 💜 from the Adirondack Mountains, New York
Dear Madam, You remind me of an old friend whom I have not seen in Forty years. We used to do the similar things together what I have seen you do in these videos of yours. I am delighted.
Thank you. I love your honest advice, and enjoy listening to your calming voice and the passion that radiates from you. I've made my own shampoo and herbal teas. More please 😊.
Thank you so much Terri for sharing all these wonderful plants spirits, as I'm totally agree with you. Your dogs Jazz and Broc are lovely too, love very much! please dont' stop what you're doing because so many people need your guidance🥰
It’s wonderful listening to your informative videos, thank you for all you do! Going through menopause I’ve found many healing herbs that have helped me through this change. Sending lots of love 💕
I only discovered your channel recently & have subscribed with all notifications. 👍❤ I'm totally on board with you about exploring nature's wisdom & applying it to our health & well-being. I detest the pharmaceutical industry. Each of their products comes with side effects &/or consequences. I'm currently 72 with health issues, but I strive to minimise my intake of prescribed medications, so as you suggest, I look for the cause & prioritise it. For instance, I was diagnosed as a Type 2 diabetic, so I looked at my snacking habits & it was clear that I had a sweet tooth. I went cold turkey on sweets & changed to snacking on savoury/healthier delights, like beetroot and fermented/pickled foods & was diabetes-free within a week. By contrast, my friend said that diabetes ran in the family, so he requested medication as a precaution without being tested. He's since been told that his liver & kidney functions are compromised.. 🙄 One morning I woke to extreme pain in my big toe, so I booked a visit to see my doctor, but could only see a stand in as it was my regular doctor's day off. I was diagnosed as having gout & told to put my foot up for a week. I hate sitting around, so I googled gout & learnt that was due to elevated acidity. I knew apple cider vinegar was a neutraliser so I tried it & the pain disappeared in a day. 😀 Another time I had a persistent cough & by chance ate a dill pickle. You could blow me down with a feather, it went away immediately. My darling wife chatted to an acquaintance & by chance found out that her husband had a menacing cough. She passed on my instant remedy & was greeted with a huge hug when she caught up with her acquaintance again.
Wonderful terri, yep I make the honey, lemon and ginger to give to my grown ones, one of my sons took some home with him at Christmas as he had a bad cold coughed, ect,he does like lemons 🍋 anyway, I love to have a fenel tea after my meals. I been praying so much for more weeds to grow in my garden, and not be eaten by my girls 😊. Oh its definitely delightful to see your girls in the garden too.big hugs and many thanks for shareing all nature s wonders and beauty and medical s with us,I'm grow ing in pots too as my girls take up my garden space hmmm,,!.but I'm rewarded with yummy eggs, bye for now take care and your family, happy Sunday, xxhave a great week .xx
Your vedios calm me down and has inspired the long lost love for crafting herbal medicine. I am from India and grew up with Ayurveda, after arriving in EU, I lost touch to Ayurveda. Your vedio reactivated herbal basics in me.
Wholeheartedly agree! Thank you. And one person with a particular pathology can't necessarily be treated the same as others with the same. I've just learned about energetics of plants and foods (+ the seasons and ourselves, incl our life stages) which is an additional angle to health. Blimmin fascinating! Lemon honey ginger are perfectly balanced, energetically, thus LGH tea for colds :). X
I drink Peppermint tea every night to ward off indigestion👌Eat lots of parsley, mint, basil & thyme, celery, kale & whatever else I can grow. I always enjoy listening to your knowledge on herbs, good health & life!🐦🐝🦋🌺🌻
Lovely video with a heartwarming message behind it thank you 😍. For an upcoming cold and cough My friends Mum taught me to chop an onion up and sprinkle some sugar over it, leave it ideally overnight and drink the liquid this creates in the morning. Symptoms gone😊 brilliant. Haven't tried the natural remedy that came from her Grandma for diarrhea......eat a cotton wool ball ha ha. Have a lovely weekend 💝

💚🌻🌿
I cannot recommend Terri’s herbal courses enough ! They are wonderful!
Thank you so much Lucky, for the recommendation xx hope you are having a great weekend. xx
I’m 73. 🙀💚🧡from Down Under
Glad to hear Dusty is ok again and over the shock xx
Thank you for another really inspiring video Terri. Sending love and blessings.
You are so welcome, blessings to you too. Have a lovely day. xx
I can tell you enjoy this way of life very much, you talk zo enthusiastically, it makes me joyfull as well💜
Oh thank you Mariade - how lovely to say that. Delighted that you feel joyful xx
The garden is looking splendid. Thank you for the back to basics reminder and to think of self empowerment.
You re welcome Theresa - hope it helped. xx
Absolutely agree the more we are outside the more we are drawn to our plant ally's. Thank you for your wonderful videos. Your dog is the best 💖
And all the plants want to be our allies and help us - I think xx
You are totally achieving your goal with your channel, thank you so much 😊❤
Amen ❤️ Beautiful ❤️ Thank you Terri ❤️ Many blessings to you for a lovely week ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you Abby. hope you have a great week too xx
Glad you enjoyed it Fionnuala . Lucky you - having found some new plant allies xx
I rarely take a aspirin or anything else that I don't need unless I have to. I agree with you. As they say a stitch in time saves nine.
You are so right xx
Thank you so much, Terri. Your information, wisdom, and teaching are always accompanied with good sense and logic. I've learned so much over the past few years by following you.

You are so welcome, glad you enjoyed it xx
Fabulous video Terri I watched this when I got back from my allotment…… I felt a bit tired but it was a healthy tiredness and I also felt that whilst working my plot I was working with nature. I am a naturopathic nutritionist so what I eat is important to me and helps keep me healthy but I’m now wanting to learn more about herbalism so will be looking at the courses you offer. Thank you for your weekly reminders❤😊
That kind of tiredness is a luxury. It must be terrible to be tired after having done nothing. Working your plot is working with Nature so food for the soul. If you have any questions about the courses, give me a shout via email. xx
Herbalism is my passion living as close to nature as possible. Thank you for sharing love you deal friend Namaste.

I only discovered your channel recently & have subscribed with all notifications. 👍❤
I'm totally on board with you about exploring nature's wisdom & applying it to our health & well-being.
One morning I woke to extreme pain in my big toe, so I booked a visit to see my doctor, but could only see a stand in as it was my regular doctor's day off. I was diagnosed as having gout & told to put my foot up for a week. I hate sitting around, so I googled gout & learnt that was due to elevated acidity. I knew apple cider vinegar was a neutraliser so I tried it & the pain disappeared in a day. 😀
Another time I had a persistent cough & by chance ate a dill pickle.
Big hugs to you too Hetty - enjoy your week and your girls. xx
Your vedios calm me down and has inspired the long lost love for crafting herbal medicine. I am from India and grew up with Ayurveda, after arriving in EU, I lost touch to Ayurveda. Your vedio reactivated herbal basics in me.
Delighted to hear that. Good luck getting back into it. xx
Just found your channel. I love it. Thank you for taking the time to put out this wonderful information. Looking forward to next week.
Absolutely - very fascinating - the inner world corresponds to the outer world, Everything is relevant. xx
I drink Peppermint tea every night to ward off indigestion👌Eat lots of parsley, mint, basil & thyme, celery, kale & whatever else I can grow. I always enjoy listening to your knowledge on herbs, good health & life!🐦🐝🦋🌺🌻
I absolutely adore you and my spirit celebrates you
Lovely video with a heartwarming message behind it thank you 😍.
My gosh! I'm hearing that works like a charm! We've got to start compiling all these simple remedies! Thank you All!
You can do the same with Turnip for a cough remedy. Thanks for the cotton wool ball tip😂 xx
@@DanusIrishHerbGarden nice one thank you 😊 I'll try the turnip remedy if I get a cough 👍☺️☺️☺️
Thank you always! ❤
Very much inspired terri. Take care, bye doggies too.xx
